The upcoming fourth season of the CW’s “Nancy Drew” series will be its last. A premiere date has yet to be announced.
The teen mystery drama premiered in 2019 and follows Nancy (Kennedy McMann) as she solves mysteries — both earthbound and supernatural — in her haunted hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine. Scott Wolf, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon and Riley Smith also star.
Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor serve showrunners, and executive produce alongside Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Lis Rowinski, Alex Taub, Larry Teng and S. Lily Hui. CBS Studios produces in association with Schwartz and Savage’s Fake Empire.
“We are so honored and proud to have brought Nancy Drew’s iconic determination, individuality and resilience to life in a years-long collaboration with incredible creative talents in front of the camera, behind the scenes and among our studio and network partners,” said Landau and Taylor said in a statement.

The character of Nancy Drew, a teenaged girl detective, was first introduced in a series of books in 1930, and she was played on screen in that era by Bonita Granville in B-movies that coarsened and diluted the dynamic force that Nancy had on the page. Many prominent women who grew up in the mid-20th century have said that Nancy was an inspiration to them because she was ultra-confident, smart, and very active; she is often shown holding a flashlight on the cover of the books and looking bold and un-afraid.
The Drew books were written by a variety of ghostwriters under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene, and of course there have been adjustments made over time to bring her up to date, not always for the better. In the 1980s, Drew was sometimes drawn on the book covers in a sexualized way, and she became more interested in boys while she was solving crimes.

The first trailer for Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase has been released by Ellen DeGeneres' A Very Good Production. Sophia Lillis stars as the titular character this time around from a story based on the 1930 book by Mildred Wirt Benson, who wrote it under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. The book is from the second volume of Nancy Drew stories and Benson considered it to be her favorite of all the stories that she wrote.
It star Sophia Lillis was announced as the star of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase back in April of 2018. After the announcement, production began in June, which is also when It 2 was filming. In the first trailer for the movie, Lillis seems like she was perfectly cast as the young detective. Drew is a smart high schooler with a penchant for keen observation and deduction, who stumbles upon the haunting of a local home.

You remember those classic Nancy Drew mystery novels? Well, after CBS passed on a Nancy Drew series last year, NBC is picking it up and redeveloping it with the same creative team that consists of Tony Phelan and Joan Rater (Grey's Anatomy). However, the series will move forward with a different cast. When the project was set up at CBS, Person of Interest actress Sarah Shahi was cast in the role of Nancy.
Thanks to THR, we have a brief plot synopsis for the NBC series:
"When the author of the most famous female teen detective series is thrust into a real-life murder mystery, who does she turn to for help? Her two best friends from childhood, who were the inspiration for all those books, and the women who have a real ax to grind about the way their supposed best friend chose to portray them all those years ago.

Me: Did Adam Reed deliver another solid episode in Archer Season 8 Episode 5?
Me: Yes he did, other Robin. Yes he did.
With fantastic storytelling, great character moments and a really fun cameo, Adam Reed continues to craft a fascinating world in Dreamland.
The storytelling in Archer Season 8 is absolutely stellar. It is so incredibly intricate and precise. Somehow, in five episodes, Archer has managed to keep a number of stories moving, piquing interest and dropping reminders at the perfect times.
The overarching plot of Woodhouse's death is never really far from Archer's mind, so much so that he continues to mention it every now and then. However, he finds himself hopelessly mired in a ridiculous, messy rivalry.
I'm sure that the rivalry between Trexler and Mother/Malory will turn out to be related to Woodhouse's death somehow. In the meantime, though, it manages to be silly and convoluted enough...

CBS’ big Nancy Drew mystery has been solved: Person of Interest‘s Sarah Shahi has nabbed the coveted title role in the network’s contemporary take on the classic Carolyn Keene novels.
Drew, which has thus far only received a pilot order, finds the iconic crime solver — now in her thirties — putting her “uncanny observational skills” to work as a detective for the NYPD, while also navigating “the complexities of life in a modern world.”
CBS president Glenn Geller recently confirmed that the network was seeking a “diverse” actress to take on the role of Nancy.

Gwen Stefani may have a new romance on her hands with fellow coach Blake Shelton — news apparently so earth-shattering that even Nightline (¡!) ran a segment on it — but one thing she shouldn’t expect in her Christmas stocking this year is a winner’s statuette from The Voice to match the quartet on her beau’s mantle.
