Former Harris County, Texas, Chief of Special Crimes Kelly Siegler returns to explore Texas’ toughest trials in season two of Oxygen’s Prosecuting Evil with Kelly Siegler. The new season kicks off on January 25, 2025, at 8pm Et/Pt with a two-hour episode that focuses on a case Siegler considers one of the most difficult of her lengthy career.

Season one was Oxygen’s most popular new show in six years, bringing in an average of 991,000 viewers. Siegler hosts the true crime series and serves as an executive producer along with Dick Wolf, Casey Kriley, Jo Sharon, Adam Kassen, Andrew Nock, Gaylen Gawlowski, and Tom Thayer. The series is produced by Wolf Entertainment, Universal Television Alternative Studio, and Magical Elves.

The “Law & Order” and “FBI” creator and mega-producer is behind Netflix docuseries “Homicide: New York.” Wolf produces the five-episode show that revisits the most infamous and complex murder cases in New York City.

Featuring real cops, the docuseries showcases interviews with detectives and prosecutors as past cases are reexamined. The official series description teases that “Homicide: New York” will “illuminates the stories of notorious murder cases as told by the people who know them best: the detectives and prosecutors who cracked them.”

“Homicide: New York” is just one half of the two-part series, with follow-up “Homicide: Los Angeles” debuting later this year.

The show hails from Wolf Entertainment and Alfred Street Industries. Wolf executive produces along with Tom Thayer, Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, and Adam Kassen.

Dick Wolf’s next two shows will stream on Netflix.

The megaproducer behind the Law & Order, FBI and Chicago franchises will executive produce a pair of true-crime documentary series — titled Homicide: New York and Homicide: Los Angeles — that will detail several notorious murder cases in the two cities. Notably, the two shows are being made outside of Wolf Entertainment’s long-time home at NBCUniversal; Wolf is teaming with Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz’s Alfred Street Industries.

Wolf and his company remain under an overall deal at NBCU, which runs through 2027.

Homicide: New York, which premieres March 20, will “bring to life five of New York’s most notorious murder cases by following the detectives and prosecutors that cracked them,” according to the show’s logline. A trailer for the series (watch it below) showcases interviews with the law enforcement officials involved in several cases as well as some re-enactment scenes.

Netflix is adding content from another TV titan to its roster of originals. Homicide: New York, a true-crime docuseries from Law & Order creator Dick Wolf, is set to debut on the streamer on March 20. It will be followed by Homicide: Los Angeles later this year. Both installments consist of five episodes each.

The project predates Wolf’s current massive deal with Universal Studio Group (signed in 2020 and extended in 2023 through 2027), which includes a first-look agreement with Universal Television Alternative Studio for unscripted/docu-series.

Homicide is executive produced by Wolf, Tom Thayer, the head of the non-scripted arm of Wolf Entertainment who was instrumental in getting the project together, Lipsitz, Cutforth, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe and Adam Kassen.

Robert Durst was charged with his neighbor Black’s murder and pleaded not guilty by reason of self-defense. Season one of Oxygen True Crime’s Prosecuting Evil with Kelly Siegler continues with episode six, airing on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 8pm Et/Pt. Episode six, “The Mask of God,” focuses on the death of a grieving mother. The exclusive clip embedded below reveals the circumstances surrounding the discovery of her body, as well as the items police found near the body – all of which appear to confirm the initial belief that she took her own life.

However, appearances can be deceiving.

“A grieving mother takes her own life, or so it seems,” reads Oxygen True Crime’s synopsis. “Her parents start an investigation, and secrets emerge about the Baptist minister and husband that leaves friends and family wondering if there’s more to the story.”

Prosecuting Evil with Kelly Siegler takes an in-depth look at harrowing homicides that took place in Texas.

Exclusive: Adam Kassen and Liz Yale Marsh have signed exclusive overall deals with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Through their deals, they will source, develop and produce unscripted projects across various platforms. Both producers are currently working on productions with several Usg partners.

Oxygen Media has picked up new seasons of reality series Cold Justice and Criminal Confessions from executive producer Dick Wolf. Both series are in pre-production and are set to return in 2018.

Oxygen announced the expansion of its true crime programming Monday, including 10 new shows and the United States premiere of “Serial Killer With Piers Morgan.”

“Serial Killer With Piers Morgan” will explore the minds of three of America’s “most depraved” serial killers through on-camera interviews with Morgan. Morgan will executive produce with John Ferriter, Will Daws and Stuart Cabb. The show is produced by Plum Pictures and Ferret Productions.

“The response from the true crime community has been overwhelming,” said executive vice president of original programming and development Rod Aissa.

It will take a look at high-profile criminals including the Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and his defense attorney Chris Tritico, and Jodi Arias and her public defense lawyer Kirk Nurmi. It is produced by Magical Elves with executive producers Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth.

“The Disappearance of Crystal Rogers” takes a look back at the disappearance in 2015 of a 35-year-old mother in Bardstown, Kentucky. Journalist Stephanie Bauer partners with retired homicide detective Dwayne Stanton in this investigative series. It is produced by Peacock Productions with executive producers Lloyd Fales and Nicole Rittenmeyer.

“Price of Duty” portrays homicide detectives recounting the most haunting case of their careers. It is produced by The Intellectual Property Corporation (Ipc) with executive producers Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Bill Pruitt, Jackson Nguyen and Todd Crites.

“Abuse of Power” is hosted by television journalist Lauren Sivan and will explore cases in which a pillar in a community took advantage of their power and influence. Produced by Storyville Entertainment and Lucky 8 with executive producers Betsy Schechter, Kim Woodard, Greg Henry, Dahlia Damaghi and Mitchell Rosenbaum. It will premiere on Saturday, May 12.

“The Mark of a Killer” (working title) looks at serial killers’ strange habits and trademarks. It is produced by Jarrett Creative, with executive producers Seth Jarrett and Julie Jarrett and Motiv8 Media with executive producers Kara Kurcz and Brian Lee.

“License to Kill” (working title) will see “Botched” plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow investigate murderous doctors and nurses. Each episode will detail a different case from the victim’s perspective. It is produced by Shed Media, a division of Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative Television. Pam Healey, Dave Kuba, Adam Kassen, and Terry Dubrow executive produce.

“Dying to Belong” explores cases in which people chose to kill with the goal of feeling accepted, including cases where a teenager killed to impress his friends and a mother who killed a cheerleader competing with her daughter. It is produced by Jupiter Entertainment with executive producers Stephen Land, Allison Wallach, Matt Sprouse and Eric Wetherington.

“Buried in the Backyard” looks at cases in which the victim was buried in an unsuspecting place: the backyard. Each episode will start with discovering the body’s remains through the police investigation. It is produced by Renegade 83 with executive producers Jay Renfroe, David Garfinkle, Bob Kusbit and Jeff Kuntz, and premieres Sunday, June 3.

“A Wedding and a Murder” looks at cases in which a wedding serves as a catalyst for a murder. Anyone could be a suspect, from the bride and groom to a wedding guest. It is produced by Leepson Bounds Entertainment with executive producers David Leepson, Stephanie Lydecker, Mary Bissell and Daniel Schulman. It also premieres Sunday June 3.

“Cult of Killers” (working title) explores murders committed by cults. Each episode will look at the cult behind the crime and try to explain what drove its members to kill. It is produced by Ipc with executive producers Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman and Eureka with executive producers Paul Franklin and Chris Culvenor.

Brothers Adam Kassen and Mark Kassen cut their teeth in Hollywood by producing TV shows such as Wife Swap, indies such as The Sasquatch Gang, and even acting a bit as well. They both make their feature directorial debut with Puncture, which hits the shelves on Blu-ray and DVD January 3. This drama, which is based on a true story, centers Mike Weiss (Chris Evans), a small-time lawyer with a big-time drug addiction, who gets in over his head while trying the biggest case of his career against a medical supply company. I recently had the chance to speak with director Adam Kassen over the phone, and here's what he had to say.

With summer movies safely tucked away, it's the time of year where films set out to teach us something or touch our hearts on the way to next year's Oscars. No, I don't mean Creature, although there was touching in some parts of that movie. Instead, I'm talking about Puncture, where brothers and co-directors Mark and Adam Kassen introduce Chris Evans to a villain even scarier than the Red Skull....big pharma.

We hope that every film is created because a writer had a story that they felt compelled to tell the world, a director who felt obligated to share his vision, and actors who were so driven by the story and opportunity that they simply could not sleep at night if they didn’t participate. Thoughts by Tsr: Not Your Normal Trailer. Er, yes it is. Pretty standard fare in the world of cinematic trailers. This trailer neither interested me, nor put me off. Total run-of-the-mill, right down Main Street.

I’ve always found Chris Evans to be hard to digest, I don’t understand his Tom Cruise-esque swagger. Tom Cruise’s swagger I get, but this cheap off-brand of Chris Evans, I do not. And he struck me here as even more off-putting than usual.

I found very little in this trailer to be excited about. The supporting cast looks weak as tin. I’ve always dug Michael Biehn (probably my first man-crush, thanks to Aliens and The Terminator), and his goatee looks killer, but that’s not going to be enough...

For a little over a month I've been receiving emails about a new film called Puncture, which stars Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger) as a young Houston lawyer and functioning drug addict and I hadn't added it to the database until a few minutes ago. The film is obviously buzzy considering it stars the man who is Captain America, but also because it will make its way to theaters later this month on September 23 and finally I have gotten around to adding the film to the database along with the poster, eight pictures, the trailer and a just released clip from the film featuring Evans and co-star Brett Cullen (Ghost Rider).

I didn't watch the trailer, but I did watch the clip and if I take the description and the clip into consideration I get something of a cross between The Verdict and Erin Brockovich vibe from what little I know.

Lest you think that Chris Evans, the physical specimen at the center of this summer’s blockbuster hit “Captain America: The First Avenger” (Paramount, 7/22, PG-13, trailer), is all style and no substance, check out Adam Kassen and Mark Kassen’s “Puncture” (Millennium, 9/23, R, trailer), a low-budget indie that premiered at April’s Tribeca Film Festival, will be released in theaters next month, and offers fairly solid proof that Evans has some acting chops to go with that six-pack. (His character, a crusading lawyer-by-day/junkie-by-night, is based on a person who actually lived — what actor wouldn’t like to take a bite out of such a meaty part?!)

The first trailer for Puncture, the feature debut of directors Adam and Mark Kassen (producers on HBO's Bernard and Doris), has been released online. Written by Chris Lopata, from a story by Ela Thier and Paul Danziger, Puncture is based on a true-life "David and Goliath" story. Chris Evans stars as Mike Weiss, a personal injury lawyer who, along with his partner, (co-director Mark Kassen playing Paul Danziger), battles against a huge health supply corporation and his own drug addiction to get safe syringes into U.S. hospitals. Michael Biehn, Vinessa Shaw, Kate Burton and Brett Cullen also star.

After cementing himself as a household name in 'Captain America: The First Avenger,' it seems like Chris Evans is settling in nicely to his new reputation as a leading man.
