Netflix’s action thriller series, The Night Agent, finally returns for its second season, and FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) will likely find himself in the middle of yet another conspiracy. Based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk, the show’s first season landed on Netflix two years ago, and viewers immediately flocked to the series. With its Tomatometer at 74% and its Popcornmeter at 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Night Agent gained a solid fanbase rather quickly. In the first four days after it premiered, the show became the third-most-viewed debut series on Netflix, and within a month, it became the platform’s sixth-most-viewed series. It was renewed for a second season shortly after the first one debuted, and it has already been renewed for a third ahead of Season 2’s premiere.

Per Variety, a third Orphan film has officially been announced. After starring in the first two movies, Isabelle Furhman (Horizon: An American Saga) will return as Esther Coleman. Orphan 3 will also bring back the creative team for 2022's Orphan: First Kill, as writer David Coggeshall (The Family Plan) will pen the script with William Brent Bell (The Boy) returning to direct. Alex Mace of Gnosis Films is producing while David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is executive producing. The film comes from Dark Castle Entertainment, and Lionsgate will launch sales of the project at the American Film Market.

Netflix has shared a new behind-the-scenes photo of Avatar: The Last Airbender, teasing the main casts return as production begins on Season 2. The live-action fantasys next installment will be based on the original animated series Book 2 called Earth.

Posted on X, the photo shows Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), and Elizabeth Yu (Azula), who are all smiling while holding their scripts for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2. For the first time, they are joined by new cast member Miya Cech, who has been tapped to play the fan-favorite character of Toph Beifong. Just like in the animated series, Cechs Toph is expected to play a significant role in Season 2, where shell be introduced as Aangs blind Earthbending master. Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has rounded out its cast, adding 20 actors, including George Takei, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Danny Pudi and Arden Cho.

Written by Albert Kim, Netflix bills the series as an authentic adaptation of the award-winning and beloved Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender reimagined as a live-action adventure.

The world of Avatar is divided into four nations: the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. In addition to the Four Nations, some characters have the ability to visit a parallel dimension called the Spirit World. New cast descriptions follow below.

The unexpected but surprisingly entertaining prequel Orphan: First Kill (read our review Here) is now available to watch on the Paramount Plus streaming service, and will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD on October 18th. To promote the fact that the film is streaming, Paramount Plus has shared a behind-the-scenes featurette on Twitter, and you can check it out in the embed below.

The featurette not only includes interviews with producer Alex Mace, director William Brent Bell, and cast members Isabelle Fuhrman, Julia Stiles, and Matthew Finlan, but also shows off some of the trickery that was used to allow Fuhrman to play a character who looks like she’s still a child.

Thirteen years after playing serial killer Leena Klammer (a.k.a. Esther) in the horror thriller Orphan, Isabelle Fuhrman has reprised the role in the prequel Orphan: First Kill (read our review Here) – which was released through the Paramount+ streaming service last Friday. Orphan: First Kill was also given a 498 screen theatrical release in the United States, and earned 1,675,000 over the weekend – a decent haul for that number of screens. So there was clearly an interest in seeing Fuhrman play Esther again. And during an interview with Variety, Fuhrman confirmed that she would be willing to come back for an Orphan 3 if it gets made.

It’s Estonia, 2007, and the opening sequence of “Orphan: First Kill” assures we are in the realm of a horror movie because it opens with an overheard shot of a car snaking up a mountainous road blanketed in snow. That’s an obvious crib from “The Shining” that horror filmmakers can’t ever seem to resist, and it’s never not a charming genre in-joke in the key of the Wilhelm Scream, an evocative and easy reference filmmakers love to throw in to put us in a chilling mood.

Review: Thirteen years ago, the horror thriller Orphan introduced us to Esther, a 9-year-old girl who is adopted by a family… and then turns out to be thirty-something serial killer Leena Klammer, who is able to pass herself off as a child because she has a hormonal disorder called hypopituitarism. It was a terrific twist that allowed a film that looked like another take on The Bad Seed to become something else entirely. Esther/Leena was played by Isabelle Fuhrman, who was around 10 or 11 when she was on set, making it easy for her to pass as a 9-year-old herself. Now Fuhrman is an adult, but that hasn’t stopped her from reprising the role of Esther in the prequel Orphan: First Kill.

"If you're not Esther, then who are you?" Paramount Pictures has revealed the first trailer for a new horror movie titled Orphan: First Kill, a prequel to the 2009 horror hit Orphan. Unfortunately none of the original team is back, with a new writer and a new director handling this. Esther's terrifying saga continues in this thrilling prequel to the original and shocking horror. After orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family, but an unexpected twist arises. She must end up battling another over-protective mother. Isabelle Fuhrman returns to star as Esther, joined by Rossif Sutherland, Hiro Kanagawa, Matthew Finlan, and Julia Stiles. This looks a lot like a repeat of the original, with a few unique twists. I dig the blacklight aspects in here, not only visually engaging but adding another element of mystery & intrigue to this horror.
