A lawsuit filed by movie financier Elisabeth Thieriot against TheWrap has been dismissed by a judge, after Thieriot failed to appear for the last three hearings in the case, according to court papers obtained by TheWrap. The suit revolved around a May 9, 2012, article detailing “Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond” producer Raul Julia-Levy’s claims that Thieriot had fled Mexico, where the documentary was being produced, with two dozen hard drives and 10 computer towers containing the film’s footage. Exclusive: Former Permut Presentations production executive Steve Longi has launched Longitude Entertainment, which intends to purchase screenplays, books, true-life stories, and original film, TV, and Internet properties. The plan is to develop the material and attach talent before seeking financing. The company has also joined with Joe Lawless’ GoingLong Productions to acquire its first property: rights to the story of filmmaker Raul Julia-Levy and the making of his recent documentary Revelations Of The Mayans: 2012 And Beyond, which they want to turn into a comedy (working title: Secrets Of The Mayans: Exposed!) inspired by the wild true events surrounding the making of the doc. Julia was granted access to Mayan tombs by the governments of Mexico and Guatemala and promised the film would prove that the Mayans had contact with aliens. The production commenced only to be halted amid allegations of fraud, theft of footage, double-dealing and lawsuits. Longi is...

…where betrayal and intrigue take place against a backdrop of crumbling colonial architecture and vintage American cars.
Apparently.
Also set to star in the film, which is beind directed by Dean Hamilton (who for those that don’t know, was responsible for the Pamela Anderson / Denise Richards flick Blonde and Blonder), are mixed martial arts fighter Heath Herring, Zulay Henao (Fighting), Lorena Rincon (Stuck) and Raul Julia-Levy (Epoch) plus Bollywood star Nicholas Brown (Kites).
Now I don’t know about you guys, but Havana Heat sounds like B-movie heaven to me! Snipes and Dudikoff in the same film? Genius! Now lets see more action hero pairings – it worked...

Just a couple of days ago, Gary and I were talking about who might appear in the Expendables sequel after finding out that it’s pretty much a dead cert to happen. Definitely on my list of people I’d love to appear is Wesley Snipes and hopefully this news might make my wish may come true.
Wesley Snipes has been cast in new (probably straight to DVD) movie, Havana Heat.
According to Empire, the story centres on a Homeland Security agent who is murdered while undercover in Havana, and the investigation which follows that death.
It will star Joseph Lawrence, Michael Dudikoff, Heath Herring, Zulay Henao, Lorena Rincon, Raul Julia Jr. and Nicolas Brown and will start shooting in November.
Now all we need is Sylvester Stallone to give him a shout and get the wheel in motion!
Thanks to the ever awesome Helen O’Hara from Empire for the heads up.

Well, the good news for Wesley Snipes fans is that he's back in the acting game, signing up to apear in Havana Heat, which will start shooting in November. The bad news is it's from the director of Blonde and Blonder, Dean Hamilton, and sounds a little bit like it's destined to go straight to DVD.Apparently the story centres on a Homeland Security agent who is murdered while undercover in Havana, and the investigation which follows that death. It will star Joseph Lawrence (er, Urban Legends: Final Cut), Michael Dudikoff, mixed martial artist Heath Herring, Zulay Henao (Fighting), Lorena Rincon, Raul Julia Jr. (loved your old man!) and Nicolas Brown (Kites). The film's due out next summer in a cinema (?) near you.
