Donna Morong is a respected casting director, with over 25 years in the business. She began her career in New York City as a casting associate at Simon and Kumin Casting, a highly-regarded company that cast for Broadway and off-Broadway, doing premieres of Neil Simon's, plays as well as premieres of August Wilson, Athol Fugard, and David Rabe. She subsequently worked with Douglas Aibel at the Vineyard Theater and with him on independent film projects including John Patrick Shanley's first feature film, "Five Corners".
After marrying David Morong, a production designer for MTV, she moved with her young family to Los Angeles. Her first casting work was under the supervision of Johanna Ray, where she cast "Map of the Human Heart". Subsequently, she was hired by Ilene Starger at the Walt Disney Company as a manager of casting for feature films.. After Ms. Starger moved back to NYC, she worked under Marcia Ross for 13 years, becoming a Senior Vice President of Feature Casting for Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures, under the executives Nina Jacobson Donald Deline, David Hoberman, and David Vogel.
More recently she has dedicated herself to working with independent filmmakers, including Quentin Dupieux (Rubber),Hanna Ladoul and Marco La Vida (Anywhere with You), and Mari Walker (See You Then). Films she has cast have appeared at film festivals including Cannes, Sundance, South by Southwest. Her other passion is training actors of all ages to work professionally. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, David, where she raised her three children, William, James and Sarah Morong.
