Dawn Higginbotham is an author, filmmaker, producer, born in Memphis, Tennessee to William and Susan Higginbotham. Dawn graduated from the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City, and performed Off-Off Broadway and National Tours across the U.S..
She also studied and performed with Bolton Stagelight Theatre, playing Maria in "Westside Story," Hope in "Anything Goes" and several characters in "A..My Name Is Alice," among other projects.
After several years in theater Dawn moved into film; working on such feature films as Die Hard W/ A Vengeance, The Thin Red Line, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, Armageddon, Godzilla, Jim Cameron's Titanic, for Lucasfilm and Dolby Digital Services on films like Episode I, II, and III and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, Avatar, etc. Dawn wrote the feature film "Diamonds & Guns" (staring Renee' O'Connor & Ted Raimi), she also produced the film with Renee. Dawn produced several other projects including, "Infinity" (Directed by Randy Crowder), "Words Unspoken" (Directed by Renee' O'Connor), "Ode To LA" (Directed by Varda Hardy) & "Outside My Window" & "You Are a Star" (Directed by Carlo DeRosa), & the feature film "Night of the Templar" (Directed by Paul Sampson). Dawn Higginbotham & Brooke P. Anderson formed Cordova Pictures and produced their feature film "Off The Ledge," written by Dawn, Brooke, and Andrew Pinon (Directed by Brooke P. Anderson). The film was picked up for distribution & released in 2009.
Dawn wrote, directed and produced the short period piece commentary "The Usual" with Morning Person Pictures and with Renee O'Connor, Kumari Bakhru, Sharen Davis and Claire Risoli. The film has received several awards and is an Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival, American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase, and screened at Short Film Corner at Cannes.
Her book, "The Guide to Managing Postproduction for Film, TV & Digital Distribution" is available through publishers Routledge / Focal Press. Also available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other outlets. She is currently at work on the next production related book.
She is in development on several film & TV projects Morning Person Pictures. Dawn is a member of the Producers Guild, PGA-WIN & Screen Actors Guild.
