22 years ago, Star Trek: Enterprise retconned Vulcan history with a flashback episode set in 1957 Carbon Creek, Pennsylvania. Before 'Star Trek' was added to the prequel's title, Enterprise season 2, episode 2, "Carbon Creek," saw Subcommander T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) regale Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) and Commander Trip Tucker (Connor Trinneer) with the story of how her ancestor, T'Mir (also Jolene Blalock), and two Vulcan explorers, crashed in Pennsylvania and lived among humans undetected in the 1950s. While Archer and Trip take T'Pol's tale with a grain of salt, Enterprise strongly implies it's the truth.
Star Trek: Enterprise's "Carbon Creek" was produced 6 years after Star Trek: First Contact, which was essentially Star Trek's origin story. Director Jonathan Frakes' hit movie depicted Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the USS Enterprise-e time-traveling to 21st-century Bozeman, Montana. While Picard battled the Borg on the Enterprise, Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and his away team ensure Dr.

While the horror genre touched on queerness well before Hellbent was ever released, Paul Etheredge-Ouzts’ 2004 film is considered to be the first of its kind: an openly queer slasher. Without question, there is no ambiguity about the characters’ sexualities as they partake in the annual Halloween festivities in West Hollywood. The only real mystery about these men is the masked killer following them, hoping to add their names to his growing list of headless victims.
Art director Etheredge-Ouzts was first approached by producers Michael Roth, Joseph Wolf and Karen Lee Wolf in 2000 about making a gay horror film. By then, the trend of slashers hard on the heels of Scream had already reached its expiration date, but even so, what eventually became Hellbent remains a unique entry in the first major revival of slashers. And what was once coded in both past and contemporary films was now glaring and unapologetic in this one.

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.
The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.
in the meantime in more official news, Showtime, Lynch and Mark Frost has released the official cast list for the new series with a whopping 217 names across the various episodes - a list that includes some real surprise big name inclusions such as Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Vedder, Ashley Judd, Ernie Hudson, Jim Belushi, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern,...

Rebecca Mader was as pleasantly surprised as anyone to recently learn that Once Upon a Time‘s resident wicked witch, Zelena, had a chance at life-long romance, with Underworld overlord Hades, but dismissed it because she felt unworthy.

Winning the Best First Feature Award at the Berlin International Film Festival is no small feat, and debutante Gabriel Ripstein achieved such distinction last February with "600 Miles," a singular take on the ambivalent relationship between Mexico and the United States. The film is Mexico's Official Oscar Entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
English-language talent is represented by British actor Tim Roth who stars as American Hank Harris, an Atf agent who crosses over kidnapped by Arnulfo Rubio (Kristyan Ferrer), a young man who smuggles weapons across the border. Regardless of their distinctively opposing worldviews, their destinies are intricately connected - just likes their respective homelands. Ferrer recently starred in films such as "Buen Dia, Ramon" and "The Empty Hours," both of which were released in the U.S.
Stateside distribution for "600 Miles" is being handled by Pantelion Films, the distribution and production company behind the most successful Spanish-language films ever released in the U.S. including Eugenio Derbez' "Instructions Not Included," "A La Mala," and the surprise animated hit "Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos."
Pantelion "600 Miles" on December 4th on 50 screens across the U.S.
The official synopsis for the bi-national gripping thriller reads as follows: Arnulfo Rubio, a young gun trafficker between the United States and Mexico, is being followed by Atf agent Hank Harris. After a risky mistake by Harris, Rubio makes a desperate decision: he smuggles the agent into Mexico. And while these two apparent enemies slowly connect, they reach a dangerous place. And the only way out will be by trusting each other.
Check out the official poster for the film below:...

One of the key functions of film festivals around the world is being able to pick out and showcase upcoming talent, often giving them a platform or a spotlight. The Berlin Film Festival is no different in this regard, as it offers a Best First Feature Award to first-time filmmakers whose submissions are accepted. The 2015 incarnation of the festival gave this award to Gabriel Ripstein for 600 Millas, or 600 Miles. The film’s synopsis is as follows.
Arnulfo Rubio smuggles weapons for a deadly Mexican cartel. Atf agent Hank Harris attempts to apprehend him, but gets kidnapped by Rubio, instead. Rubio takes him to his bosses, but during the 600-miles-long drive, they slowly befriend.
Ripstein directed the feature and co-wrote the screenplay with Issa López. Tim Roth and Kristyan Ferrer star in the leading roles, with Monica Del Carmen and Greg Lutz in the supporting cast. While it doesn’t have an American release date,...

‘Insidious: Chapter 2′ box office: Horror movie has second best September debut ever — not taking inflation into account (photo: Barbara Hershey in ‘Insidious: Chapter 2′) As further evidence that moviegoers are sick and tired of sequels, James Wan’s Insidious: Chapter 2, starring Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson, and veteran Barbara Hershey, took in $40.27 million this past weekend, September 13-15, at the North America box office according to weekend actuals found at Box Office Mojo. That’s more than three times the $13.27 million Wan’s Insidious collected in April 2011. How could that be? Well, James Wan’s Warner Bros.-distributed The Conjuring, starring Vera Farmiga and Insidious‘ Patrick Wilson, became a sleeper horror hit in mid-July, collecting an astounding — for a relatively low-budget horror movie — $41.85 million on its first weekend, ultimately cuming at $136 million in North America in addition to an excellent — once again, for a relatively low-budget horror movie — $135.2 million internationally.

Look how happy she is! And we are too. Why? Because we made it.
After a tumultuous season interrupted by heartbreak, frustrations and well, interruptions, we enter a seven-episode stretch of new "Bones" that will take us to that potentially game-changing finale.
Dare we think of what that might mean? Not yet. There are two way too disgusting things that demand our attention first: feet (gross in any context) and a body farm.
The closest thing to Disneyland for Brennan (Emily Deschanel), body farms are real facilities, run by universities, in which human remains are studied in various states of decomposition. The fact that this is our first time hearing of them six seasons is another shining example of the kind of restraint our "Bones" crew possesses.
Romance, pregnancies and interpersonal issues within the Jeffersonian gang are almost completely sidelined tonight, so it's going to be a squint-heavy recap. Onward!

Last year, Liliana Greenfield-Sanders (my multi-talented daughter) produced and directed "Adelaide", an award winning short. Actually, "Adelaide" won ten awards, including both the Grand Jury Prize & Audience Award at Gen Art, Best Short film at Woodstock and New Orleans, Audience Awards & Special Jury Prizes at Austin, Indie Memphis, BeFilm, First Run and screened at over 50 more festivals. "Adelaide" also won a National Board of Review Student Grant Award. The film stars Anna Margaret Hollyman, Hank Harris (Pumpkin), and Damian Young (Californication, The Comeback). Her friend Gregori Viens, whom she met on the festival circuit, is the main attraction with "Punching the Clown," which Sarah Silverman calls "the best movie about comedy" and the Village Voice says "may be the funniest movie ever made about trying to hold on to one's artistic integrity in an image-obsessed world."
