The episode “Thunderstruck” took place during a dangerous storm. Meredith has already started packing up her beloved home to move to Boston, where Zola (Aniela Gumbs) found a good school to challenge her, and Meredith will be researching a cure for Alzheimer’s.

But, of course, Meredith couldn’t leave without a dramatic exit. The house where the show started caught on fire. The episode ended with unclear how much of the house was standing after the fire was put out.

Meredith Grey performed her “last” surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital during the winter premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” on Thursday. But Ellen Pompeo’s final episode as a series regular felt more like a “see you later,” leaving plenty of questions unanswered and the door open for her character’s return.

ABC promoted the episode, titled “I’ll Follow the Sun,” as Meredith’s big farewell to Seattle. Previews for the hour paid homage to the many traumatic moments, goodbyes, accomplishments and near-death experiences the doctor has procured across 19 seasons and over 400 episodes, but the hour itself played more like real life — with a dose of romantic comedy frustration.

Since Grey’s Anatomy first premiered in 2005, it has aired 19 seasons, 406 episodes, and birthed 3 spinoffs. Naturally the show has had to adapt as cast members come and go throughout the years. This sometimes makes it hard to recall what exactly went on in season 1. Although who can forget Addison Montgomery (then Shepherd) saying the iconic line, “I’m Addison Shepherd … and you must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband.”

With every new intern class that Grey’s introduces viewers to, it always throws in a few Easter eggs to remind fans what made them fall in love with the show in the first place. The Paley Center for Media has announced the full lineup for PaleyFest L.A. when the television festival returns to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, running from March 31 until April 4

This year’s festival will feature panels for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Yellowjackets”, “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, “The Mandalorian”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Yellowstone” and “Abbott Elementary”.

The Paley Center for Media on Tuesday revealed all seven TV series that will take part in the 40th annual PaleyFest LA, which is set to run March 31-April 4 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland.

Disney+’s The Mandalorian (first announced to attend last month with Paramount Network’s Yellowstone and ABC’s Abbott Elementary and Grey’s Anatomy) will be the opening-night panel for the annual TV celebration. The Star Wars series will kick off its night with a special episode screening followed by a Q&a with showrunner/executive producer Jon Favreau and EPs Dave Filoni and Rick Famuyiwa, with other attendees Tbd.

After 19 seasons, Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey is bidding her colleagues and the city of Seattle farewell in a new teaser trailer ahead of the popular medical drama series’ return on Feb. 23.

The midseason premiere, titled “I’ll Follow the Sun,” follows Meredith’s last day at Grey Sloan Memorial.

While doctors plan a goodbye surprise, Nick (Scott Speedman) will confront Meredith about the future of their relationship. Elsewhere, the interns compete to scrub in on Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Winston’s (Anthony Hill) groundbreaking partial heart transplant procedure and Richard (James Pickens Jr.) asks Teddy (Kim Raver) an important question.

ABC has released more information and a new promo for Grey’s Anatomy‘s Feb 23 winter return, entitled “I’ll Follow the Sun,” which will mark Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) departure from Grey Sloan Memorial.

In the episode, written by Grey’s executive producer/showrunner Krista Vernoff and directed by series’ executive producer Debbie Allen, it’s Meredith’s last day at Grey Sloan Memorial and the doctors plan a goodbye surprise, while Nick confronts her about the future of their relationship. Elsewhere, the interns compete to scrub in on Maggie and Winston’s groundbreaking partial heart transplant procedure, and Richard asks Teddy an important question.

“Sometimes change is good, sometimes change is everything,” Meredith says in the voiceover for the promo.

And when she is toasted by her colleagues on her final day at the hospital, she deadpans, “You know I probably will be back next week.”

Despite big names leaving Grey's Anatomy, they always pop back up.

The same can be said for Jesse Williams, who has closed a deal to return to the ABC medical drama for Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 5.

Williams will also direct the episode, airing November 3, and titled "When I Get to the Border."

Deadline first reported the news.

This marks the second time Williams has returned since exiting as a series regular in early 2021.

The star returned for the Grey's Anatomy Season 18 finale earlier this year on ABC alongside longtime co-star Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner.

However, Deadline reports that Drew will not be a part of the upcoming episode.

The highly anticipated hour features Meredith on a trip to Boston, where she catches up with her longtime friend.

It's unclear what the purpose of the trip to Boston will be, but it will be nice to see these two share the screen again.

When viewers first met Dr. Meredith Grey, she was one of the new crop of interns brought into what was then known as Seattle Grace Hospital.

Now, nearly two decades later, Meredith (played by Ellen Pompeo) is seen greeting the new batch of surgical residents in a teaser for the upcoming 19th season of “Grey’s Anatomy”.

The video then features the actors who play the fledgling doctors — characterized as “diamonds in the rough” — describing their characters.

Alexis Floyd (“Inventing Anna”) shares that her character, Simone Griffith, “brings a very grounded but emotional connection to her work.

Roger Corman, the legendary film producer who has produced over 400 projects in his career, will be producing a reboot of Death Race 2000 called Death Race 2050 for Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, and it will star Malcolm McDowell.

The film is described in the press released as being “an outrageous action-packed film and reboot of the original Death Race 2000.” The story will revolve around a horde of automotive gladiators who earn points for killing pedestrians as well as their fellow drivers.

Corman was a producer on all of the previous Death Race films. The first one was released in 1975 and starred David Carradine, Simone Griffeth, and a young Sylvester Stallone. Paul W.S. Anderson remade the film in 2008, and that was followed by a couple of direct to DVD prequels, Death Race 2: Frankenstein Lives in 2011 and Death Race 3: Inferno in 2013.

"Death Race" 2, the prequel to Universal's 2008 Jason Statham film, is shooting in South Africa right now, but it's going straight to DVD under the studios DVD Originals banner.

When I interviewed the 2008 "Death Race" cast and director Paul W.S. Anderson at Comic Con (check my complete interviews right here), Anderson revealed to me some plans for a sequel.

Apparently, those plans have been scrapped for a straight-to-dvd prequel.

Sean Bean is set to star opposite Luke Goss ("Hellboy 2: The Golden Army") along with Lauren Cohan, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo and Frederick Koehler. Anderson is producing and Roel Reine is directing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "the prequel is serving as the origin story for the character named Frankenstein, a convicted cop killer (Goss) in a declining American empire where a racing reality show is about to be born in the country's corrupt prison system."

So Statham, Joan Allen, and Ian McShane are not returning.

Despite popular opinion, remakes are not a new phenomenon, they’ve been around pretty much as long as cinema, and have given us some of the finest movies in cinematic history.
