Brother of actress Pam Grier and Gina Grier-Townsie.

Cousin of Roosevelt Grier.

Quentin Tarantino admired some of his paintings so much he used them as props in Kill Bill - Vol. 1 (2003). The pictures are displayed on the walls of Vernita (Vivica A. Fox)'s home in the opening fight scene. Tarantino Commissioned Grier to design Black Military History Plates that were destroyed in the scene when Uma and Vivica crashed into a book shelve.

His scene/ improvisation partner at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York was Kathryn Hepburn's niece.

Loves to fish and has fished in Hawaii, Northern California, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Vancouver B.C.
