Director Neil Marshall made one of the all-time coolest werewolf movies with his 2002 film Dog Soldiers (watch it Here), so it’s shocking that we’ve never gotten a sequel… especially considering we’re living in a world where An American Werewolf in Paris exists, and there have been eight Howling movies. A few years ago, Marshall said there was “more of a chance” of the sequel happening than ever before… but in a new interview with Inverse, he gave a disappointing update, saying he fears that Dog Soldiers 2 is dead in the water.
When asked for a status update on Dog Soldiers 2, Marshall told Inverse, “I’ve a feeling it’s probably dead in the water because things have gone very quiet from the other side. I’m not giving up, though; there’s still a possibility. We’ve been trying to get it off the ground for the past six years.

British horror is not particularly good at hitting the middle ground – it normally finds itself at either extreme end of the quality spectrum: from painfully awful to groundbreakingly brilliant. Sitting comfortably at the low-end of this spectrum is sci-fi horror The Hybrid.
The Hybrid follows a group of mercenaries tasked with infiltrating a subterranean military research facility. However, there they uncover far more gruesome horrors than they were expecting.
Three ingredients which normally make a good sci-fi or horror film are tension, scares or disturbing imagery, and at the very least a self-aware humour. If one of these factors is missing, proceedings are usually redeemable thanks to either of the other two. I can’t...

Tagline: "No Escape." Bunker is a film from director Javier Soto ("The Strain"). Set in World War I, this film is also being produced by Fortress Features. In the film, British and American forces are forced deep, below ground with a German prisoner. In the gloom, the soldiers realize that there is another, supernatural presence with them. The script has been developed by writers: Natalie Hanson and Michael Huntsman. Casting is still underway. And, the film's first poster is available here. Currently, Bunker is at the Cannes Film Festival. Blue Fox Entertainment is the sales agent and they will be showcasing the concept to worldwide buyers. Still in pre-production, the film is a ways away from shooting. And, this long time horror fan cannot help but think of another film titled Bunker. Rob Green's 2000 film, The Bunker, is also set in a major war, with a supernatural entity. Both...

Desperate. That word describes Newcastle United’s situation perfectly right now – because they look like a side who are hurtling down the precipice with no hope of escape. They may finally have ended their five-and-a-half-game away-goal drought but John Carver’s men have still not won a game since February 28th – with the Magpies succumbing to their ninth defeat in their last 10 matches.
Despite taking the lead against already-relegated Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road after 24 minutes thanks to Emmanuel Riviere’s first-ever Premier League goal, Newcastle’s ineptitude in defence meant that they were 2-1 down by the 61st minute – having been ahead at half-time.
A header from Matt Phillips that goalkeeper Tim Krul should have done better with and probably should have saved brought Qpr level, and then a 30-yard wonder strike from Leroy Fer condemned the Magpies to yet another defeat. Hull City may yet go down,...

English-language thriller set on French Riviera in the 1950s due to shoot July 2015.
Brazilian director Karim Aïnouz’s upcoming thriller The Beauty of Sharks was one of the hot projects at the inaugural edition of the Paris Coproduction Village, which unfolded off the French capital’s Champs Elysees last week.
Two French buyers were rumoured to be circling the thriller about a group of Us expatriate hustlers living on the French Riviera, who are trying to get a piece of an elderly socialite’s millions.
It is based on an original screenplay by UK writer Rob Green who recently worked on Billy O’Brien’s horror romance Scintilla.

Nottingham Forest climbed back into the Championship playoff places as goals from Greg Halford and Andy Reid kept up their record of never losing a home game to Qpr. Harry Redknapp’s side missed the chance to go top at the City Ground.
Halford worked Rob Green in the Hoops goal for Forest after an uneventful opening 15 minutes. The versatile Reds player then blazed over following good work from Djamel Abdoun wide left.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto tried his luck from range up from left back at the other end, but Karl Darlow. Henri Lansbury then won a tackle and the Forest midfielder fired into the side netting.
Just before half an hour the Reds went ahead through utility man Halford. He headed home a peach of a cross from Abdoun. Niko Kranjcar led the response for Qpr, curling wide after some silky footwork.

Nottingham Forest have never lost a home game in any competition to Qpr. If Harry Redknapp’s Hoops make history on Boxing Day then, their reward may be to top The Championship table.
Should Burnley fail to win, Qpr can go above them with victory at the City Ground – provided they match or better a potential Leicester City win against Reading. Billy Davies’s Reds have drawn three of their last four outings and have failed to score in the last two.
The Hoops are looking to bounce back from their only home league defeat of the campaign against promotion rivals Leicester. Both teams have suspensions to contend with.

Forest frontman Darius Henderson starts a ban after being sent off in the goalless draw with Birmingham City. Long-term absentees Dexter Blackstock, club captain Chris Cohen and centre back Kelvin Wilson are also out.

Tiff’s Midnight Madness program turned 25 this year, and for two and half decades, the hardworking programers have gathered some of the strangest, most terrifying, wild, intriguing and downright entertaining films from around the world. From dark comedies to Japanese gore-fests and indie horror gems, the Midnight Madness program hasn’t lost its edge as one the leading showcases of genre cinema. In its 25-year history, Midnight Madness has introduced adventurous late-night moviegoers to such cult faves as Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused and Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. But what separates Midnight Madness from, say, Montreal’s three and half week long genre festival Fantasia, is that Tiff selects only ten films to make the cut. In other words, these programmers don’t mess around. Last week I decided that I would post reviews of my personal favourite films that screened in past years. And just like the Tiff programmers,...

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandez will order a mass clear-out at Loftus Road this summer, with as many as ten first team players set for the chop, according to the Mirror.
The likes of Adel Taarabt, Julio Cesar, Loic Remy, Chris Samba and Bobby Zamora will all be sold in order to cut down the R’s huge wage bill and fall into line with strict Football League rules as the strugglers prepare for life after the Premier League.
Fernandez has however assured manager Harry Redknapp that his job is safe regardless of whether the club hurtle into the Championship this season, and the pair are to begin talks as to who should stay and who should go.
Airline tycoon Fernandez has also assured the club he and other wealthy board members will remain loyal and will do everything within their power to ensure Qpr bounce straight back up again next season.

A new action thriller is being developed by Av Pictures involving werewolves impinging upon the Roman Empire. The time is 160 Ad and the title of this new picture is, appropriately, titled Galdiators vs. Werewolves: Edge of Empire. The story follows a legionnaire tasked with capturing a mythical clan of beasts on the Empire's outer borders. These monsters are worse than the rumours state and once these werewolves are placed in the arena their bloodlust and ambition for power creates a growing army of lycanthropes. Can Titus reign in their numbers before it is too late? Fans will have to wait until 2012 to find out.
As background, Av Pictures developed the recently released Lesbian Vampire Killers. This is a film sale and production company that has been in its present form since 2003. Expect Av Pictures to release this United Kingdom shot epic with some attention to detail based on their previous works.

My feelings towards the Tomb Raider franchise parallel my on-off relationship with the England team; periods of apathy interspersed with short spells of hopeful obsession, capped off by inevitable, crushing disappointment.
Well, this time round things are a little different. Square Enix (now the parent company of publisher Eidos) is in the big chair now, and like anybody pushing a new product in a tired brand they want us to know one very important thing – this ain’t your Granddad’s Tomb Raider. In fact, its ain’t a Tomb Raider game at all, it’s a brand new series. Enter, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a wholly original Tomb Raider-ing adventure in which our favorite shapely archeologist, Lara Croft, raids tombs.
Okay, so not everything has changed, but the stuff that gave me night terrors sure has. Death by camera? Gone.

19-year-old Fabian Moritz from Laatzen in Niedersachsen is an internet sensation, re-enacting football matches in Lego
Binned the vuvuzela already? Are those lips cracking trying to get those low Fs? You could always plunder your children's Lego box for instant World Cup relief instead. It is never too late to start, as 19-year-old Fabian Moritz from Laatzen in Niedersachsen, Germany, discovered. A fan of Hannover 96 football team, he constructed an entire stadium out of those generic connectable plastic brick links. He started with the pitch and the goals around the 1998 World Cup in France, and assembled the rest from friends and family over the next 10 years. He began with local matches first, filming re-enactments in stop motion animation. The fan movements were the worst. Making between 100 and 200 figures jump out of their seats when a goal is scored takes time, and the hours just fly past in his storeroom studio...

I don't really know what else I can say about the project, other than it appears its going to give us exactly what we expect.

After the Q&A session last night at the New Beverly for the American Werewolf In London and Beware The Moon double-feature, ShockTillYouDrop.com checked in with the doc's writer/director/producer Paul Davis to see what he had lined up next and it seems that werewolves are still very much a part of his future. He revealed exclusively to us that he'll be playing a werewolf in Gladiators vs. Werewolves: Edge Of Empire , the latest movie from filmmaker Rob Green ( The Bunker ). Apparently, the gig came about once FX artist Shaune Harrison saw Davis' size and insisted on putting him in a monster suit. "It's weird how this has all come about and in the space of two-weeks since Frightfest in London," Davis tells us. "I can't say too much but basically I was...

London -- Veteran producer Gary Kurtz, whose credits include "Star Wars" and "The Empire Strikes Back," and indie producer Richard Johns have teamed with former City mergers and acquisitions exec Rupert Jermyn and Universal Pictures veteran Julian Alcantara to form Corona Pictures.
The London-based shingle has kicked things off by inking a two-picture deal with writer-director Charles Dance ("Ladies in Lavender").
Dance is lined up to direct the noir drama "The Last Hand," a script about the past and present lives of a 1960s gangster's moll. The former actor also is in line to helm "Last Chance Saloon," billed as a country-and-western dance spectacular set in the British Midlands featuring Dolly Parton.
Corona's slate also includes "Obsession," a New York-set psychological thriller written by Rob Green and to be directed by Thaddeus O'Sullivan ("The Heart of Me").

On their way to counseling, young, pretty couple Jack (Reynaldo Rosales) and Stephanie (Heidi Dippold) take a few wrong turns and end up getting lost on a desolate, country road. After some petty bickering and painful exposition on the duo and their problems, the couple eventually gets directions from a menacing sheriff (Michael Madsen) and stumbles onto an eerie uninhabited inn (the kind that solely exist in crappy horror films). The establishment, all shadowy passageways and terrible customer service, is run by a baleful woman (Leslie Easterbrook) and her horny, homicidal son (Bill Moseley). Soon, Jack and Stephanie, along with another stranded, vacant-eyed couple, find themselves haunted by past sins and a masked psycho who demands one dead victim by sunrise. Considering Jack is a writer and Stephanie is a moderately successful local musician, it’s a surprise these creative minds couldn’t write themselves into a better thriller. “House,...

We have three clips in from Lionsgate's "House" on DVD today! Starring Michael Madsen, Leslie Easterbrook, Bill Moseley, Lew Temple and Julie Ann Emery. Robby Henson ("Th3e," "The Visitation") helms the film from the screenplay by Rob Green based on the novel written by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. What we said about the film: Quick: When I say "Christian movie" what's the first thing that comes to mind? Cheesy? Preachy? Low budget? Kirk Cameron? When I heard that Namesake Entertainment was making a movie based on the best selling novel House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker, and that it was being directed by Robby Henson, who adapted Dekker's book Thr3e for the screen, my first thought was, "How cheesy is this going to be?" I saw the film "Thr3e," and trust me, to call it ridiculous would be a compliment. For the most part, films made by...

After straying off the main road, they find themselves lost on a backwoods road in Alabama when they come upon an accident. After getting directions from a very creepy cop, they come to a crossroads where, at high speed and bickering all the way, they decide to veer of their route and head home. And then it happens. There isn't a lot of meat to this story since the motion picture in question has only just been announced and details are all but non-existent, but whenever someone decides to make a movie about gladiators in the Roman Colosseum being forced to battle werewolves, that gets a headline in my book.
Directly and to the point titled Gladiators vs. Werewolves, this production from Britain's Av Pictures, the company also behind the upcoming Lesbian Vampire Killers, is to be the latest from Rob Green, he of a World War 2 horror film titled The Bunker (pictured) that I've never seen but heard was pretty good. Here's the statement from Av Pictures website:
Due to commence shooting early in 2009 from Rob Green, director of the critically-acclaimed The Bunker comes Gladiators vs Werewolves, an explosive battle between the deadliest trained fighters of ancient Rome and a ferocious tribe of savage werewolves.
And that...

Arriving in limited theaters November 7th from Roadside Attractions in Robby Henson's House, which was written by Ted Dekker, Frank Perretti and Rob Green. This afternoon we were provided with a new batch of stills from the film that stars Michael Madsen, Allana Bale, Jp Davis, Reynaldo Rosales, Bill Moseley, Leslie Easterbrook and JulieAnn Emery. On a deserted back road in Alabama, Jack and Stephanie find themselves driving fast and running late. Their world suddenly changes when a strange accident leaves them stranded with no car, no cell phone coverage, and no help in sight. They have no choice except to continue on foot. As darkness approaches, they round a bend and see a small sign at the top of a long gravel driveway: The Wayside Inn.

Way back in February, news that writer/directer Rob Green would be tackling Dog Soldiers 2: Fresh Meat was the talk of the trades. As a massive fan of Neil Marshall's original flick, I joined into the conversation and reported on it then as well, but after doing some follow-up research I noticed that the film has been erased from basically every film resource. It no longer has a page on IMDb, and the film has even been removed from director Rob Green's list of projects. Can we assume that DS2 is languishing in development hell, or is it dead? We of course contacted Green's management to find out more, but until we hear a definitive word on the matter we're going to go ahead and mourn the loss of a potentially great flick.
