Die Hard is heading back to theaters for the holiday season.

Originally released in 1988, Die Hard is a bloody action movie that happens to be set on Christmas. Every year, fans debate over whether they consider the film to be a genuine Christmas movie, or just a film that happens to be set on Christmas, with some arguing that there's a big difference between the two. In any case, per AMC, it's been announced that Die Hard is coming back to theaters for this year's Christmas season, set to hit the big screen for a limited time starting on Dec. 8, 2023.

Nothing gold can stay, and to make room for everything new at Hulu in November, we have to say goodbye to dozens of the series and movies on the platform. Die Hard started out with low expectations and mixed reviews, but it became a beloved classic and a major success at the box office. Die Hard cemented Bruce Willis as an industry icon and introduced Alan Rickman as a talented actor. Die Hard 6 was canceled due to the poor reception of the previous film, the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney, and Willis's retirement from the industry, but there are rumors of a reboot in the works.

When Die Hard hit theaters back in 1988, hopes weren't particularly high. And not only that: the reviews following its release weren't necessarily brilliant either. One word that comes to mind when you hear the title Die Hard is “definitive.” After all, it’s widely considered star Bruce Willis’ definitive role. Still, it’s also, arguably, the definitive action movie and even the definitive Christmas movie by some (in a debate that’s grown a bit tiresome). Indeed, Bruce Willis as John McClane, fighting terrorists in the Nakatomi skyscraper in Los Angeles, is a defining image of the eighties. Director John McTiernan, writers Steven E. De Souza and Jeb Stuart, and star Bruce Willis crafted a carnage-filled epic grounded by a very human hero – John McClane, who was a notable departure from the icons of the genre at the time, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. McClane was no superman. Instead, he was human, flawed and broken-hearted over his failed marriage. His only goal was to rescue his estranged wife, Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) and get home for Christmas with his kids.

You're generally lucky if a movie has one genuinely great villain in it, let alone two. This is probably because creating a villain takes great acting and writing - it's one thing to create a preening character who stomps around a story doing unpleasant things, but creating a villain who's three-dimensional, witty, scary and above all memorable requires considerable skill.

Every so often, a movie comes along which gives us not one, but two classic villains, with the personality of one complementing the other. A familiar dynamic was once laid out by Steven Spielberg: one is smart and eloquent , while the other is the tougher, more violent of the pair. It's a template that we've seen time and again in cinema, but it's only occasionally that both characters leap from the screen.

NBC is developing a new comedy series based on the 1986 feature The Money Pit, which starred Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. Amblin Television will produce the film. Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment was behind the original, now considered a cult classic.

Universal Television is co-producing, with former The Office writer-producer Justin Spitzer adapting the original screenplay by David Giler into a weekly series.

While I know most tend to associate actor Zach Galligan with the movie 'Gremlins,' for me growing up I was always a bigger fan of his portrayal of Mark in the 'Waxwork' movies. After all, he got to fight all the classic Universal monsters, go up against the Waxwork proprietor played by the great David Warner and was friends (and potentially more?) with mega-babes Michelle Johnson (China) and Deborah Foreman (Sarah). 20th Century Fox held a special event on the studio lot yesterday, unveiling an enormous mural of Bruce Willis' John McClane, in celebration of Die Hard's 25th anniversary and the release of A Good Day to Die Hard on February 14. The studio has released a time lapse video that offers a succinct look at this mural's creation, which can be seen on Stage 8 at the Fox lot. They do the dirty jobs that no one else wants to do, and they keep the good guy from resting on his laurels by challenging him to some sort of entertaining action sequence. Sure, they may not be the smartest or the best-looking, but they serve a purpose and make movies more entertaining. Here is our list that honors the best henchmen of all time.

If there’s a big-time baddie in a movie, you can almost be certain that he didn’t rise up to prominence by himself. He had to have help, and that help usually came from henchmen. And one of the games I.ve come up with on repeat viewings is singling out Bruce Willis. stunt double. He doesn.t really look like Willis. And it stands out in key scenes. Go back and watch John McClane.s brutal fight against Karl (Alexander Godunov) near the end of the film. You.ll be able to spot the stand-in at regular intervals. Fantastic Four Reborn and Die Hard 24/7?Aint It Cool News is reporting that the next installment in the Die Hard franchise is going to be called Die Hard 24/7. They are also reporting that the new Fantastic Four film will be titled Fantastic Four Reborn.

It is also looking like Fantastic Four Reborn is going to be "a complete reboot of" the franchise.

There isn't much known yet about the plots of these films and it should also be noted that these titles have not yet been confirmed by 20th Century Fox who is responsible for both franchises.

It should come as no surprise that Fox wants to keep these properties going. The Die Hard franchise has pulled in over $1.1 billion dollars worldwide. Both films in the Fantastic Four canon have earned over $600 million worldwide.
