Keane stopped by The Late Late Show to perform new track “The Way I Feel,” a song off their upcoming fifth album Cause and Effect. The upbeat but emotive tune is the first listen from the album and recently got a stylish music video directed by Kevin Godley. In the performance, the band bring a colorful backdrop and a sense of energy to song.
Cause and Effect will be released September 20th via Island Records. It’s the band’s first album since 2012’s Strangeland and marks their return after a several year hiatus.

This month, Kate Bush will release The Other Sides, a stand-alone four-cd set of B sides and rarities, previously available only as part of larger vinyl and CD box sets released last year. One of the highlights is an elegant, sultry cover of the Billie Holiday signature “The Man I Love.”
The arrangement has some echoes of Lady Day’s 1939 Vocalion recording, but Bush makes it her own both vocally and in a classy video, previously unreleased, where she wanders a soundstage among musicians in a cinch-waisted, trench-cut leather jacket,...

British rock musician and video director Kevin Godley (10cc, Godley & Creme) is to make his feature debut.
British rock musician and video director Kevin Godley is to make his feature debut with The Gate, a film he has scripted about Orson Welles as a young man.
The film will shoot in Ireland and will tell the story of how Welles, as a teenager, made his acting debut at the Gate Theatre in Dublin in 1931. The story starts in 1985, just as Barbara Leaming’s biography about Welles is being published. The filmmaker, close to death, is haunted by memories of his lost youth in Ireland.

Here’s a fun fact about the MTV Video Music Awards: I adore them. If we’re talking about award shows with deserving honorees, the VMAs routinely reward the right artists at the right time. Past winners of the big title “Video of the Year” include some of the best clips of the past 30 years: Peter Gabriel‘s “Sledgehammer,” Sinead O’Connor‘s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Madonna‘s “Ray of Light,” Lauryn Hill‘s “Doo Wop (That Thing),” and Lady Gaga‘s “Bad Romance.” Now that the 2013 nominees are here, it’s time to guess which clip deserves to join their ranks. Better yet, let’s do the moral thing and select which video should win. Here goes, ranked worst to first.
5. Bruno Mars, “Locked Out of Heaven”
I’m sorry to say this clocks in at #5 because it’s the most listenable, impressively sung radio hit on the tally.

"Build it and they will come". That was very much the philosophy that led to the creation of Screen Stockport Film Festival around two years ago. What started out as making a short film with my friends, turned into a desire to create a film festival in Stockport to give fellow young filmmakers an opportunity to share their films with an audience.
Screen Stockport was then born, with the ambition of it becoming an inclusive, grassroots film festival for filmmakers of all ages and experiences. I wanted to give young people who aspired to have a career in the media an environment to share their passion and enthusiasm with other creatives and connect with industry professionals from the North West.

If you haven't heard of folk/pop singer-songwriter Katie Melua, pull up a chair. If you have, then you know that this raven-haired 25 year-old is taking the music world by storm. As one of Britain's most successful artists of the past decade, she has come a long way, baby, and in a very short period of time. She made her musical debut in 2003 at the age of 19 with the album Call off the Search which sold 1.8 million copies in its first five months. Her sophomore album Piece by Piece, which includes the hit "Nine Million Bicycles," went platinum four times, making her the U.K.'s best selling female artist and Europe's highest selling female artist by 2006. Her first two albums became international #1 hits. Her third album titled Pictures was the last in a "trilogy of collaborations" with writer/producer Mike Blatt. During the first half of 2009, Katie came to...
