Give me Tong Po!” If you’d like to live out your kickboxing dreams, only without all that pesky physical activity, you might be interested to learn that Force Multiplier Studios are in the early stages of developing an official Kickboxer video game based on the iconic action movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
The Kickboxer video game “will combine the rich narrative of Kickboxer with kinetic martial arts action to deliver an intense, high-octane brawler, and feature iconic characters and locations from the franchise originally starring martial arts icon Jean-Claude Van Damme.” Now, the big question: will Van Damme be making an appearance? IGN asked Force Multiplier Studios that very question, but they didn’t have a concrete answer… yet

The Clone Wars aren't over yet in an an emotional, retrospective episode of Star Wars: Rebels' third season...
This review contains spoilers.

3.6 The Last Battle
The Last Battle is a farewell and a celebration, a re-creation of the Clone Wars in the days of the Empire. It’s also a re-creation of The Clone Wars in Rebels, with a lot to unpack about the relationship between the two shows and the dynasties they portray. Writer Brent Friedman paces the episode well and gives unique voices to both Rex and Ezra. However, those voices don’t quite match what came before, and the episode just barely touches on fascinating ideas about why the Republic fell, instead becoming an introspective story that leans on the fans’ (and crew members’) fondness for an earlier show.

Just where do vampires go to learn how to deal with humans on a day-to-day basis? Can't exactly head down to the nearest etiquette class or check out a local finishing school. Vamps have to be a bit more creative. Thankfully they have Valemont... a place that teaches the undead how to deal with the not yet undead.
On Halloween 2011 Cambio.com is going to feature Valemont in feature-length format, meaning there will be plenty of fangs, blood and brooding for everyone in this story about the education of vampires. Since music videos basically don't exist anymore, MTV needs to find some programs to keep them afloat until "Beavis and Butt-Head" begin to dominate again. "Teen Wolf" is the first of those shows. Now MTV is hoping Valemont scores a big film victory for them.

The Film:
Mankind will rest… in peace! - Shao Kahn
At first glance, it’s easy to tear apart this sequel, especially since Paul W.S. Anderson delivered a heck of a 90-minute action film. While Mortal Kombat: Annihilation did open at number one at the box office, it’s certainly never come close to Anderson’s film. Character development is vacant. Dialogue wooden as dining room table. FX that can be done better on a PC. You know, the stuff of a bad sequel. Critics weren’t kind, and neither were fans. Reportedly, even star Robin Shou was displeased with the outcome of the film.
But if the intentions of the filmmakers were to create an easy-going, family friendly film, then they succeeded in those regards. But that just ain’t Mortal Kombat.

Fans of Bethesda Softworks' Fallout franchise may not know this (I certainly didn't), but way back in 1998 a movie adaptation of the first game in the series was in the works. Interplay Entertainment, who owned Fallout and Fallout 2 developer Black Isle Studios, had begun a new division called Interplay Films with plans of making multiple movies based on their games.
After the popular debut of the first Fallout in 1997 it was obviously a world that was perfect for film adaptation, but sadly it would never come to be; even with multiple studios interested in the movie, Interplay closed its film division and that was that. Three outlines of what was to become a script were written by Brent V. Friedman while it was still being developed, however, and recently the second treatment was found on a old floppy disk.
So would a Fallout movie have worked or would it...

Roswell, N.M. - The aliens have returned! Maybe not returned so much as finally arrived on home video with the release of Dark Skies: The Declassified Complete Series on DVD. Startling enough, the show only lasted a season on NBC in 1996. It gained a large cult with an alternative history of America in the ’60s. “History as we know it is a lie” was the startling series slogan. John Loengard (Eric Close) went from plucky congressional aide to a member of the ultra creepy Majestic 12 run by Frank Bach (J.T. Walsh) to battle the alien menace. An equally bizarre transformation happens to his girlfriend, Kimberly Sayers (Megan Ward). She gets alien abducted and returned. The perky perfect sixties gal goes to dark side. Can he bring her back?

Glitner is a European based and a European funded digital rights management platform. An interesting discussion takes place on Glitner via LinkedIn: What would facilitate the emergence of business models not based on territorial copyrights?
In the digital environment it is essential to remove artificial barriers to the circulation of creative content and to competitive market, while promoting and protecting cultural diversity.
One of the models discussed was one brought up last year at Afm by Brent V. Friedman in the panel "Web Entrepreneurs: Imagination Meets Commerce" Let us see what a difference a year has made: You can watch the video of the conference here: http://bit.ly/2p6JPx where a producer managed to get some product placement built-in the production, and actually managed to do some profit-sharing both ways in VoD (from the platform back to him as a rights holder, and from him to the platform...

Woke Up Dead is a new live-action zombie comedy from Electric Farm Entertainment appearing on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s online video network, Crackle.com. The original online series stars comedian Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite, Blades of Glory), Josh Gad (Back to You, The Rocker), Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad, 27 Dresses), Jean Smart (24, Samantha Who?) and Wayne Knight (Seinfeld). Woke Up Dead, marks Heder's first foray into the world of web programming and takes place in various locations around Los Angeles, California. The story of Woke Up Dead follows Drex Greene (Heder), a regular recent college grad who finds himself undergoing an inexplicable transformation that begins when he wakes up at the bottom of a water-filled bathtub. Drex’s roommate Matt, who has been eagerly filming his demise, informs him that he’s easily (and inhumanly) been underwater for more than a half-hour. This is what awaits you if you visit the companion website for the upcoming MTV Networks’ web series, Valemont, which will premieres tomorrow for a 12-episode run on MTV before heading to an online-only release of the remaining 23 episodes. I had a chance to speak with co-creator Brent Friedman of Electric Farm about this unique transmedia experience that blends product placement, Arg elements, and web content into an exciting murder mystery plotline that may or may not have a supernatural twist. The multiplatform series stars a number of notable young actors like Nikki Blonsky, Kristen Hager, Georgina Reilly and Six Feet Under's Eric Balfour. For the specifics of how this project came together, we asked Friedman to fill us in. "Valemont originated about a year ago when Electric Farm Entertainment began discussions with MTV about producing a branded entertainment series," said Friedman. Sony's Crackle.com announced its fall lineup today and as expected, the Jon Heder lead zombie comedy Woke Up Dead is the headlining web series in the bunch. The online network is known for rolling out new 13-week seasons four times a year, and this new slate has just three new original series in it. The other two newcomers, Groundlings comedy Hardline: Inside the Idaho Sex Cult and Barry Sonnenfeld's The Esquire Digital Man join the weekly returning series Anytime with Bob Kushell, Penn Says and My Long Distance Relationship. The most touted is clearly Woke Up Dead from web vets Electric Farm Entertainment (Gemini Division, Afterworld, Valemont), which first popped up in development last summer. After finally lensing earlier this summer, the series calls itself a "re-imagining of the zombie mythology" with Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) plays a USC college student thrust into a world of zombie powers...

NBC nabs Rosario Dawson Web series
NBC Universal is taking another stab at bridging the Internet-TV divide.
The company has inked a deal with Stan Rogow, Brent Friedman and Jeff Sagansky's Electric Farm Entertainment for the domestic rights to their upcoming Internet sci-fi series Gemini Division, starring Rosario Dawson.
NBC Uni also has acquired the rights to Electric Farm's next scripted online series, the zombie comedy Woke Up Dead.
Sony Pictures TV International has come aboard to co-produce and distribute the two series internationally on mobile, broadband and traditional TV.
Under the deal with NBC Universal Digital Studio, the 50 three-minute episodes of Gemini and Dead will run on various company Web sites, including NBC.com.
The first several episodes of the series -- as many as eight -- will get a preview across a number of NBC Uni platforms, including TV networks.
"Our vision is to use the TV assets as a marketing device to attract viewers to the Internet series," Rogow said.
Gemini, eyed for a late-summer launch, stars Dawson as a New York cop who uncovers a global conspiracy involving the creation of simulated live forms that have assimilated with the unsuspecting public.
