This year’s first-round Primetime Emmy nominations ballot includes a total of 51 Best Limited Series hopefuls. This is down from 2022’s unusually high total of 61, yet still much higher than 2021’s 37, 2020’s 41, and 2019’s 35.

All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs. Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. After six years of not having to limit their choices in any categories, members’ selections can now not be greater than the number of eventual nominations for a given award, which, in this case, will be five.

Unlike comedy and drama series, which simply appear on the ballot by name, the limited series submissions include plot descriptions and cast lists. Which of the shows listed below do you think will land in the final lineup on...

Evan Peters, Niecy Nash-Betts and Richard Jenkins are all likely to land Emmy nominations for their performances on Netflix’s “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” But if members of the TV academy go all in on the first iteration of the “Monster” anthology series from co-creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, you shouldn’t be surprised if Rodney Burford Jr., the lead of the show’s most acclaimed episode, also winds up with a bid.

Netflix wants more of Ryan Murphy’s The Watcher and Murphy’s anthology series, Monster. The streaming service renewed both shows for second seasons as Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story moves within striking distance of 1 billion viewing hours.

“Audiences can’t take their eyes off Monster and The Watcher,” stated Bela Bajaria, Head of Global TV, Netflix. “The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan on Monster along with Eric Newman on The Watcher are masterful storytellers who captivated audiences all over the world. The promotional train for Dahmer may have started late, but the lack of publicity for the series has seemingly resulted in more interest.

Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story beat Netflix records in its first week on the streaming service.

After just five days available, it secured 196.2 million hours of viewership, allowing it to hit the #1 spot in several countries.

The numbers make Dahmer the highest first week of viewership for a series debut on Netflix.

Granted, the numbers were probably helped by the fact that the series dropped on a Wednesday instead of a Friday.

We'll have more concrete numbers when the show has been available for longer.

The series narrowly beat Inventing Anna, which netted 195.97 million hours viewed.

Squid Game, which became the streamer's most-watched show ever, kicked off with just over 63 million hours viewed.

Netflix has unveiled the first look and premiere date for its highly anticipated limited series Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

The series is headlined by Evan Peters (American Horror Story), in a role that reunites the star with Ryan Murphy.

Netflix also revealed that the series will launch in less than a week.

The entire series premieres Wednesday, September 21.

One flick we've had our eyes on for a while now is the new zombie comedy from Matthew Kohnen entitled Aaah! Zombies!!, and in just a few short weeks this baby is coming home for mass consumption!

Let's face it. Horror is an easy genre to create a film for. We did it when I was in high school on a no-string budget and the film (although gawd awful) was still entertaining and you know what, it's probably better than some of the dollar bin dreck out there to this day...

So you take the ease of film making and add that to the fact that people love zombies and whamo, you have the world shooting zombie movies. So for every thousand zombie movies you see only a rare few are true gems. Thus is the case with director Matthew Kohnen's latest horror comedy aptly named, "Aaah! Zombies!!" (two exclamation points).

Starring Matthew Davis, Michael Grant Terry, Colby French, Betsy Beutler, Julianna Robinson, and Joel McCrary, "Aaah! Zombies!!" separates itself from the fray by telling the story from the zombies point of view. Feast on the trailer and poster below.

There's no doubt the horror market is kind of saturated with zombie movies right now, and we have to admit we really don't mind because we love ourselves some undead mayhem, but it can get a bit tiresome. New trailer for a new zombie comedy! New!

The upcoming zombie comedy Aaah! Zombies!! is a new twist on the genre, with the movie taking the point-of-view of four friends — Matthew Davis (The Vampire Diaries, Blue Crush), Julianna Robinson, Betsy Beutler (Scrubs), and Michael Terry (Bones) — as they discover they have been inadvertently turned into zombies due to a toxic waste spill (weren't the 80's great?), only they are the only ones who can't see their zombification.

The movie premiered at the La ScreamFest in 2007 (Audience Award winner) under the title Wasting Away, but will finally get released under its new title on DVD September 28 by Level 33 Entertainment.

Aaah! Zombies! is a Level 33 Entertainment production that rightfully blends horror with zombie and a little romance. The film will release September 28th and this trailer shows a group of friends turning into "super soldiers" by way of a toxic spill. The laughs unfold as four friends become very strange by accident while seeing life through rose coloured lenses.
