- Her daughter was engaged to a member of the crew for Shaun of the Dead (2004) enabling her to get a part in the film. This led to subsequent appearances in Black Books (2000) and Hot Fuzz (2007).
- Her long blonde hair and feminine looks enabled her to get a minor role in Carry on Camping (1969) and three subsequent Carry On films. However, despite her feminine looks, she had her hair cut short to play a woman liberator in Carry on Girls (1973).
- Appeared in all three films from the Edgar Wright trilogy starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost: they are Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End.
