Crossbreed is a low budget sci-fi/horror action film about a group of oversized ex-soldiers on a mission to retrieve an alien cargo from a group of eeeeeevil mercenaries. It’s a film where men are men; they have big guns, and all the usual cliches apply. It’s a homage to every sci-fi/horror bang-bang film from the 80’s and 90’s and references everything from Predator and Robocop to Split Second and Timecop.

Soldier-turned-bar owner “Boss” Ryker, (played by the humorously named Stink Fisher) is sent on one last mission to pull together a squad of space marines and retrieve a stolen alien from some baddies with dodgy accents.

Fox as the President of the New United States of America and following a group of military veterans on a deadly mission in space, Crossbreed is coming to On Demand on February 5th from Uncork'd Entertainment. To celebrate the sci-fi action movie that pays tribute to Aliens and ’80s Cannon films, we caught up with director/co-writer Brandon Slagle for our latest Q&A feature, and we've also been provided with an exclusive clip to share with Daily Dead readers!

"Does this mean war, Madame President?!" Uncork'd Entertainment has released an official trailer for an indie sci-fi alien film titled Crossbreed, a low budget action thriller starring Vivica A. Fox as (highlighted by PR) the first black female president. The film is about an "alien bio-weapon" created inside a top secret facility orbiting Earth. A team of mercs are sent to retrieve it, until the weapon escapes, and starts wreaking havoc onboard the space station. The full cast includes Daniel Baldwin, Stink Fisher, Devanny Pinn, Antoine Lanier, John T. Woods, Mu-Shaka Benson, and Vernon Wells. It's described as "an action-packed throwback in the tradition of Aliens and Escape from New York" though it does not look anywhere near as good as either of those. On this Gotham, the villains take the stage as they begin their reign of terror on the city. Continuing the season’s Rise of the Villains theme, this episode puts the spotlight on Jerome as the indisputable leader of the Arkham Asylum Escapees known as The Maniax!, as he stands to be, perhaps, the most terrifying villain that Gotham City has ever faced.

Last night, Fox's hit series Gotham returned with the Season 2 premiere "Damned If You Do", which introduced fans to a new group of villains who will be terrorizing the Gcpd and the citizens of Gotham. These evil-doers were broken out of Arkham Asylum by the deadly brother-sister duo Theo Galivan (James Frain) and Tabitha Galivan (Jessica Lucas). Today, Fox has released a new red band trailer which reveals these dangerous criminals will now be known as "The Maniax." If you've seen any of the previous trailers from Season 2 of Gotham, debuting Monday, September 21 at 8 Pm Et on Fox, you have noticed that this season has been dubbed "Rise of the Villains." Today, Fox has released a new trailer which shows some of the villains who will rise above the Gcpd, including Penguin (Robin Taylor), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and Catwoman (Camren Bicondova). This trailer shows all of these villains immortalized in a bronze statue, and while we don't see any new footage, their dialogue gives us some clues into the upcoming season.

Director Rob Masciantonio who brought us the epic gorefest that was Neighbor has given us a heads up on what's next for him. He's announced his next project will be a short film called Fairyland and has plans to submit it to Sundance this summer.

Fairlyland deals with taking characters from myths and fables and puts them in a world where Soprano-types are real. There's a Facebook page set up for the short now so head over and check it out.

Personally I've read the script and it looks like a lot of twisty fun, especially at the end of course! There will be several Neighbor alumnus joining Masciantonio on this project including Pete Postiglione, Stink Fisherand Brea Bee with Josh Bender producing and you might even get to see a "certain geek" appear in it somewhere, who knows.

The Cinema Slaughter Horror Film Festival will begin Friday, April 23rd and run until May 7th. Two films will show, which include Neighbor and Shellter. Shellter involves an underground medical facility and the living dead. The film sees a world infected with a virus where "the only way of curing the infection is by surgically removing the affected area" (Shellter). On the other side of the coin, Neighbor is about an anonymous girl who goes door to door "torturing and slaughtering anyone" who gets in her way (Neighbor). Trailer locations for both films are below and this event will be held in West Hollywood, with location details inside.
