TBS has given the greenlight to the new comedy series Sullivan and Son, starring popular comedian Steve Byrne and executive-produced by Vince Vaughn (The Break-Up), Peter Billingsley (Iron Man) and showrunner Rob Long (Cheers). Byrne also serves as producer on the series, which comes to TBS from Vaughn's Wild West Picture Show Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television. Paola Turbay has joined HBO's drama True Blood as a recurring. She will play Antonia. We don't know much about her except for the fact that she speaks fluent Spanish. The Houston, TX-born Turbay, who moved to Colombia at age 10, is former Miss Colombia and Miss Universe runner-up. She made her U.S. series debut as a regular on CBS' Cane and has been recurring on USA's Royal Pains. Turbay is with Domain and Klwg Management. Upcoming Horror Movies has got the low down on Adam Green's latest horror film, Hatchet II. This film will be available on both DVD and Blu-Ray February 1st and the extras on the discs are nothing to scoff at. These formats will have audio commentaries, while the Blu-Ray version will offer two extra featurettes entitled: "“First Look: Hatchet II" and "Meet the FX Team." Hatchet II released in a limited fashion theatrically during the first week of October. However, returns were dismal and box office gross did not come close to recouping the $4 million production price tag. Reviews have also not been kind.

Official details are yet to be released, but Adam Green posted the following note from his Twitter account: "To those asking: Yes, Hatchet II Unrated has been pulled from Us theaters. Press release coming tomorrow when we have the full details."

Initial reports stated that the film performed well for the limited release that it had, and of course much kudos goes to AMC Theaters for allowing the unrated release to have the opportunity that it did. We will post all the details of what exactly happened when the information is made available.

The trailer promises the most gore of any slasher film and a half dozen characters are incapacitated in various brutal ways in this two minute clip. Get set for Crowley to prowl the dark bayous October 1st through a limited theatrical release.

Hatchet II 2nd PosterA new poster for Adam Green's Hatchet II has arrived and this graphic is stunning when compared to the previous concept poster found (here). The poster promises an "Uncut & Unrated" version of the film and rumours support this, as the body count in this sequel is expected to at least double and possibly triple. Blood reds swirl in the graphic's water to the right and the new tagline is comedic with: "Hold onto all of your pieces." To show October 1st in theatres, fans can get a good sense of what villain Victor Crowley will be up to in Hatchet II through this second poster.
