Even though a lot of people may not think of it as a reality show, Jackass is one of MTV's best reality shows of all time. After all, millions of fans became so invested in the show's stars that they want to know things like which one of them is the richest. Jackass fans also want to know things like whether Johnny Knoxville does his stunts for money and why he is facing multiple lawsuits.
Sadly, Jackass fans have also learned about the troubles that Bam Margera has had, including the fact that he was once pronounced dead. Still, many fans were still surprised and saddened to learn why Bam was arrested in September 2024.

When it comes to stunts on Jackass, many people believe that there is nothing that would have stopped one of their crazy, often dangerous, usually stupid stunts from being carried out. However, it seems that one particular stunt was canceled thanks to star Steve-Os chance encounter with a transgender supermarket cashier on the day before he was set to undergo breast implant surgery in the name of comedy.
Speaking recently to Consequence of Sound, Steve-o revealed that everything was in place and planned to go ahead with the dubious procedure, but a sign from the universe gave the star reason to back out after speaking to the cashier. He said:
"On the day the scheduled surgery was supposed to happen, I was checking out at the supermarket, and the person ringing up my groceries was evidently transgender, and it struck me as a sign from the universe. So I asked...

When Mel Brooks feature filmmaking debut "The Producers" hit theaters in 1968, it was both a critical/commercial smash and a bit of a scandal. Emboldened in part by the increasing permissiveness of the counterculture comedy era, Brooks pushed the outside of the envelope with a ribald sense of humor he couldn't indulge as a writer for NBC's "Your Show of Shows" and "Caesar's Hour" and outright shredded it by making light of the Third Reich with the film's fictional musical "Springtime for Hitler." Soon after the film's release, he was confronted in an elevator by a woman who told him "The Producers" was vulgar. Brooks fired back, "Lady, it rose below vulgarity."
This, I believe, is true of "Jackass." Created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville, this showcase for a gang of lovable skateboard-culture knuckleheads who subject themselves and each other to a series of physically/mentally...

Bam Margera may be moving out of his jackass phase, posting videos this week that showed he still has chops on the skateboard. At 44 and with far too many years of substance abuse to his name, Margera may not move as quickly as he once did, but it is awesome to see he can still work the deck.
Bam Margera posted two videos on Instagram this week, continuing a steady run of clips that have given fans promising updates on his health, both physically and mentally. And his followers have been extremely supportive, saying the videos remind them of Margera’s better days. Check out Margera’s moves below:

The Jackass movies became a major hit, reaching a wider audience than expected due to their unique concept and daredevil stunts. Jackass Number Two was a rare sequel that outshined the original, with more polished and better-paced content. Jackass Forever recaptured the essence of the first movies, featuring a mix of old and new cast members who pulled off dangerous stunts with the same comedic flair.

Hi, I'm (not) Johnny Knoxville, and welcome to (an article about) "Jackass"!
Somehow, over 20 years after the boundary-pushing reality stunt comedy series that launched Knoxville's career debuted on that dusty relic known as MTV, "Jackass" is still going. And not just the franchise; Knoxville and much of his original crew have continued to actively throw themselves into harm's way to entertain the masses. In fact, "Jackass Forever" emerged as one of the saviors of the 2022 box office, keeping the art of the R-rated guffawfest alive in typical topsy-turvy "Jackass" fashion. It's not just creaky Gen-Xers and Millennials like myself; even today's youths agree, the dudes rock.
With Knoxville and his boys now in their 40s and 50s, though, it begs the question: Exactly how much longer can they keep poking death and severe physical injury in the eye, and walk away laughing? At this stage, the "Jackass" crew seems to...

The "Jackass" franchise is a wild ride that started with a late-night MTV series but has become a full-fledged force of nature in its own right, and a crucial part of that magnificent maelstrom is Steve-o, born Steven Glover. It's almost impossible to define the charismatic performer — he's one part circus clown, one part stuntman, one part comedian, and his unique brand of entertaining helps make this franchise what it is. He has done some disgusting and terrifying things in the name of making all of us laugh, and in his new unrated multimedia comedy special, "Steve-o's Bucket List," he's allegedly going even wilder than he did on "Jackass," which should really be something. But what about the "Jackass" franchise? Is there a film that he feels is the pinnacle, or do they just continue to improve upon the previous incarnation?

Steve-o doesn't think that Jackass 5 will happen, meaning Jackass Forever could be the end of the feature film side of the franchise. That being said, Steve-o is optimistic that the core group will reunite for another project, but it's unclear what that might be. Johnny Knoxville's serious head injury in Jackass Forever makes clear that things had to end eventually, but the film serves as a strong sendoff for the franchise.
Steve-o comments on the chances of Jackass 5 actually happening and the future of the group more generally in a candid new update. While it was fun to get the old gang back together for some new hijinks in Jackass Forever, franchise favorite Steve-o admits that he has a hard time watching the film. Released last year, Jackass Forever served as a reunion movie that brought back Steve-o along with several other original stars from the series. Like old times, the gang had been pulling off pranks on one another along with some very dangerous stunts.
One such stunt for the film saw Johnny Knoxville getting charged by a raging bull, knocking him to the ground rather hard on his head. The incident resulted in KNoxville getting brain damage, and the daredevil is lucky that things didn't turn out worse. In a recent interview with NME, Steve-o explains how this kind of thing is why it's a "bummer" watching Jackass Forever, as watching his friends getting harmed just isn't as funny as it...

Are you ready to catch the fourth installment of the Jackass saga, Jackass Forever? Well, we have good news, as today we will tell you where you can watch Jackass Forever and what streaming platform to find it on.
Although unscripted television shows portraying ordinary people are as old as television itself, reality television as we know it really came to prominence in the early 2000s. Shows like Big Brother, Pop Idols, and Survivor ushered in a worldwide obsession with watching normal people in unusual situations or showing off their ‘talent’.
However, Jackass was something absurdly different. Hitting our screens in 2000, Jackass episodes premiered on MTV and followed an original crew of friends carrying out grotesque pranks and bone-breaking stunts that made viewers cringe in obsessive disgust. Controlling parents around the globe were up in arms about the show's provocative ‘indecency’ as they sat terrified their little Johnny was going to follow suit.

The Jackass series debuted on MTV in 2000, quickly becoming one of the most popular television shows. It followed the antics of a group of friends as they engaged in outrageous stunts, pranks, and dangerous physical challenges. The show cast included Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Dave England, Preston Lacy, and Ryan Dunn.
Despite parental and political worries about the show’s potential impact on younger viewers, it quickly skyrocketed in popularity. After three seasons of wading through constant censorship notes from MTV, Knoxville and his pals decided to end their run; thus began, Jackass’ successful transition to the silver screen era.

Bam Margera has revealed that just last December he was pronounced dead, only to live to tell the story. Margera recently sat down for an interview with fellow jackass Steve-o on his podcast “Wild Ride” to discuss his near-death/actual death experience.
“I was pronounced dead on Dec. 8,” Bam Margera said. “I did not know that I had gnarly Covid and my body was shutting down. I went into four seizures, each one lasting 10 to 20 minutes. On the fourth one I bit my tongue so hard it was nearly fallen off. It got so swollen and puffy it wouldn’t fit in my mouth. I was drinking the infected blood which gave me pneumonia as well.” Margera continued in detail, “I went to the hospital and had my fifth seizure and then couldn’t breathe without a tube down my throat. Johnny Knoxville may be making a “Jackass” of himself again. The star of Hulu’s “Reboot” is reportedly filming a new prank-based project in Long Beach, according to an unlikely source — a lawsuit against the actor from a TaskRabbit handyman.
As reported by Variety, a handyman named Khalil Khan filed a suit against Knoxville in the Long Beach Superior Court for emotional distress after an alleged on-camera prank.
According to the lawsuit, Khan went to a home after signing up for a repair job on TaskRabbit in October, where the homeowner asked him to fix a dimmer switch and threatened to beat him up if he didn’t properly repair it, saying, “I know jiu-jitsu.” After the threat, Khan experienced a variety of bizarre occurrences: a lamp went out, and a girl showed up claiming Khan killed her pony and led him to a room where a horse was being put on life support,...

Steve-o recalls a stunt from the original Jackass movie that he refused to do. Jackass premiered as a television show in 2000 on MTV. Created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and star Johnny Knoxville, the guerilla-style show followed a group of skaters, "stuntmen," and other of figures of the early-aughts underground scene as they filmed daring pranks and stunts often involving public humiliation or bodily harm. The show ran for three short seasons, but spawned numerous film adaptations, as well as television spinoffs like Wildboyz and Viva La Bam.
One of the more legendary members of the original Jackass crew was Steve-o. After getting his start performing in flea market circuses, he was discovered by Tremaine after the Jackass co-creator received numerous video submissions from him depicting his homegrown stunts. Steve-o's fame has since transcended the Jackass franchise. His public struggle with substance abuse was chronicled in the MTV show Steve-o: Demise and Rise,...

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville comments on where he stands with former co-star Bam Margera. Jackass originally started as a reality show on MTV, but has since become a successful franchise of feature-length films. Despite now releasing theatrically and featuring bigger budgets, the basic premise has always stayed the same, with Knoxville and his companions subjecting themselves to a series of gross, painful, and hilarious stunts. The fourth film in the mainline franchise overall, Jackass Forever features bigger stunts than ever before and earned generally positive reviews from audiences and critics alike upon its release earlier this year.
The cast for the Jackass films has generally stayed the same throughout the franchise, with several notable exceptions. Jeff Tremaine’s “Jackass Forever” opens with a sequence that accurately sets the tone for the motion picture magic to come. As with all of the sketches that compose this plotless clip reel of brilliant American idiocy, you know that something foul and/or unfathomably painful is about to go down in the cheesy “Godzilla” parody that kicks things off — longtime “Jackass” fans might even be able to guess what it will be — but it still hits with a childlike wave of wonder and revulsion when you see it unfold. It’s no wonder that the film’s biggest laugh comes when someone reacts to a wildly elaborate prank by shouting, in all sincerity, “I knew that was gonna happen!”
In this case, the gag is that the kaiju terrorizing downtown New York is actually Chris Pontius’ flaccid penis (painted green and puppeteered on strings with on-screen help from “Being...

"Jackass Forever" is notable in several ways. First, it's allegedly the last "Jackass" we'll ever see, and one glimpse at Johnny Knoxville's salt-and-pepper hair provides plenty of reason for that. Any of these jokers can handle a fall, but as the years go on, it takes longer to get back up. Second, the movie contains two noticeable absences: Ryan Dunn, who died in 2011, and Bam Margera who, despite being removed from production after an alleged breach of his wellness contract, will still have one stunt seen in the final product. But a few new additions have been added to the roster with an eye towards...

At the beginning of the week, Paramount became the latest studio to give a bunch of its high profile movies the heave-ho from this year into 2022 in yet another release date shake up. Tom Cruise had both Top Gun: Maverick and Mission Impossible 7 given a hefty delay, while the allegedly final Jackass movie Jackass Forever was also postponed to the end of the winter season. As you would expect though,Jackass star Johnny Knoxville wasn't going to just let Paramount put out the news as a press release and have done with it. The “Jackass Forever” trailer dropped Tuesday and the stunts — which include 49-year-old Johnny Knoxville getting shot out of a giant canon — have made us nostalgic for the good ol’ days.
“When is the last time you got together with old friends to laugh your asses off?” the trailer teases, while promising the same “Jackass” mayhem, just with a silver-haired Knoxville this time. The official trailer for Jackass Forever has arrived ahead of its release in theaters in October. "We're back! Sure, a little bit older and a whole lot grayer, but definitely not the wiser. Catch the trailer debut online Tuesday, July 20, and we'll see y'all in the theaters October 22," the caption reads.
"Verified. When you mess with the bull, you not only get the horns but a concussion, a broken wrist, and a broken rib too. @JohnnyKnoxville is indeed the magic man."
Directed by Jeff Tremaine, Jackass brings back most of the old gang for one more round of dangerous stunts and gross-out gags.

The Jackasses are back at it again, for their fourth theatrical installment, Jackass 4, and while it was reported back in December that Steve-o and Johnny Knoxville were both hospitalized on day two of shooting, Steve-o shared a video Friday of his "most embarrassing trip to the hospital". Now, if you're familiar with their work, that is saying something.
Steve-o tells the story like this: "I bought a t-shirt cannon for Jackass 4," the performer says in a video on his YouTube channel, 'My Most Embarrassing Trip To The Emergency Room.' "My idea was to fill it up with dog poop and have someone get shot in the face with it. But the director Jeff Tremaine didn't (think) the idea was really clever enough, so it didn't happen." At least not for Jackass 4. Steve-o decided to follow though with his "poo cannon" concept with the Nelk Boys, who have 6.6 million subscribers on YouTube.

Johnny Knoxville is done with Jackass after Jackass 4. This fall, Knoxville and many other members of the original gang of daredevils get together once again for a new array of highly physical stunts and gags. It will be the first Jackass movie in more than a decade, but it will also be the final installment of the series - at least with Knoxville's body on the line.
"You can only take so many chances before something irreversible happens," Johnny Knoxville, now 50 years old, told GQ in a new interview. "I feel like I've been extremely lucky to take the chances I've taken and still be walking around."
Knoxville's more adamant about calling it quits this time around than he was after Jackass 3 was released in 2010. In the years since, he had consistently mulled over different ideas for a sequel, often emailing himself notes with "Jackass 4 idea" in the subject line.

Bam Margera says his former Jackass family has left him feeling betrayed, but Steve-o is insisting that this isn't the case. Previously, Margera had revealed through videos posted to Instagram that he had been booted by the studio from the upcoming sequel Jackass 4. At the time, he asked for fans to boycott the movie, claiming he had been unjustly fired for failing to abide by strict conditions set by the studio to stay on the project.
For the most part, the Jackass team has stayed largely silent regarding Bam's dismissal from Jackass 4. Now, Bam Margera is calling attention back to the matter after posting a new video slamming those involved with the project once again. In the footage, Margera claims series creator Jeff Tremaine and co-star Johnny Knoxville misled and mistreated him with their contractual demands.

Amid continued uncertainty over his involvement in the sequel, Bam Margera has reportedly been fired from Jackass 4 for good. Last week Margera posted a disturbing video on social media ranting on Johnny Knoxville and the Jackass team for booting him from the project. The video was deleted soon after and Bam later suggested that there was no bad blood between them, implying he'd be in Jackass 4 after all.
Now, a new report from TMZ states that while everyone still wants Bam to get help, there's no coming back to Jackass 4. The firing all reportedly comes down to Margera's refusal to abide by the guidelines producers had required for him to stay a part of the movie, essentially breaking his contract. As for why he had so many specific rules to follow, word is producers were afraid of Margera's past substance abuse and erratic behavior causing problems on set.

The fight of the century might be happening in Jackass 4, as NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal wants to duke it out with Johnny Knoxville in the upcoming sequel. With Johnny and the gang all set to return, the movie will likely feature some special guest appearances from some of their famous pals, and Shaq clearly wants to be a part of the action. Speaking with Steve-o on the Jackass star's Steve-o's Wild Ride! podcast, Shaq suggested he wants to fight Johnny in a boxing match in Jackass 4, akin to Knoxville's brawl with Butterbean in the original Jackass movie.
"I want to box Johnny Knoxville, because I remember when he boxed Butterbean," Shaquille O'Neal says in a clip from the podcast, feigning anger at Knoxville over not inviting him to appear in the movie. Fortunately, Steve-o has Shaq's back, as he promises to text Johnny and the director as soon...

Paramount Pictures announced on Wednesday that it is pushing back the release of the upcoming fourth “Jackass” film from its initial March 2021 date to July 2, 2021.
First announced in December, the film marks the return of the hit 2000s MTV series for the first time since “Jackass 3D” in 2010 and the death of cast member Ryan Dunn a year later. Paramount has not announced which members of the show’s original cast, led by Johnny Knoxville, will return for the new film or if director Jeff Tremaine will take part.
Paramount also announced a smaller push for the upcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse,” moving it back two weeks to a release on October 2, 2020. The moves come as Hollywood studios have pushed back the release of dozens of films in various stages of production in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has closed movie theaters worldwide.

We've not heard the last of the iconic words, "Hello, I'm Johnny Knoxville and Welcome to Jackass." At long last, Jackass 4 has been given the green light at Paramount Pictures. There has been much discussion over the past several years as to whether or not we've seen the last of Knoxville and the gang punishing one another with stunts and pranks for our amusement. Now, the studio has gotten serious as they've locked down a release date for the fourth installment of the franchise.
According to a new report, Jackass 4 is now set to hit theaters on March 5, 2021. Beyond that, there are precious few details to go on at this time. It's said that Johnny Knoxville will return, but it's not clear which of the other cast members would come back. Jackass is back!
On Wednesday, Paramount announced that a fourth movie based off of the MTV stunt series of the same name will return to theaters, Deadline reported.
The new film is set to hit the big screen on March 5, 2021, however, no additional details — including an official title — have been released.
Created by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine, the reality series originally aired on MTV in 2000 and the cast put out the first Jackass feature film in 2002. Tremaine directed the first installment, Jackass: The Movie, as well as Jackass Number Two in 2006 and Jackass 3D in 2010.

Just when you thought those iconic words – “Hello, I’m Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass” – would never be uttered again, it sounds like we’ll indeed be hearing them once more, and soon. That’s according to Deadline, who are reporting tonight that Paramount has now made Jackass 4 official by handing it a release date of March 5th, 2021.
While most of the death-defying baboons in the group have continued to find work in the years since Jackass 3D saw theaters, which was way back in 2010, fans have long been calling for a fourth outing. And now, they’re getting it. It’s unclear who, exactly, will be returning at this time, but we’d imagine most of the core members will be back for more.
Of course, the absence of Ryan Dunn, who died in a drunk driving accident in 2011, will surely be felt. But maybe they can somehow...

Paramount announced on Wednesday evening that it will be reviving the MTV reality series “Jackass” for a new feature film slated for release on March 5, 2021.
Beyond the title and release date, no other details on the film were given by the studio, including whether the show’s original cast would be involved. Created by Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, “Jackass” originally aired on MTV from 2000-2002 and spawned a trilogy of films released in 2003, 2006 and 2010 that were all produced at budgets of under $20 million and combined to gross $335 million at the global box office.
If the new project were to involve the original cast, it would be their first collaboration since the death of cast member Ryan Dunn in a car crash in 2011. Knoxville appeared in a 2013 spinoff film titled “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa,” but the brand has not been used since. In 2018, Knoxville starred in a “Jackass...

There’s still a chance that the iconic opening words, “Hello, I’m Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass” may be uttered again on the big screen. That’s according to former cast member Chris Raab (also known as Raab Himself), who says that a lot of the key players are at least interested in doing Jackass 4.
Since their painfully silly times in the limelight ended, each of the death-defying baboons have continued producing cringeworthy content – especially leader Johnny Knoxville, whose latest film Action Point was difficult to watch for other reasons. But Raab has spent a great deal of his time working on his own podcast, Bathroom Break, which launched in 2018.

We have at least a sliver of hope that the words, "Hello, I'm Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass" could be uttered one more time on the big screen. This, according to former cast member Chris Raab, aka Raab Himself, who says that all of the key players are interested in doing Jackass 4. Chris Raab launched his podcast titled Bathroom Break in 2018. In another death knell for raunchy comedies at the box office, Paramount’s Johnny Knoxville stunt comedy Action Point is hitting the skids in the worst way this weekend, opening to $2.2M.
That’s the lowest wide release debut of the star’s career, and a major setback for the prankster whose four Jackass films have made the studio close to a half billion dollars worldwide off combined budgets just north of $50M over a 16-year period. That weekend result is even lower than Paramount’s prestige misfires last year, mother! ($7.5M opening) and Suburbicon ($2.8M), even though those catered to different audiences.
Action Point arrives without the Jackass label because it only stars Knoxville and Chris Pontius and not the whole gang, and that’s one of the reasons why the pic’s fans are staying away, even though Paramount earnestly billed the comedy as “From the Star of Jackass” in trailers.

Could Jackass 4 still happen? We haven't seen Johnny Knoxville and the gang on the big screen since Jackass 3D in 2010. The various members of the crew have remained active over the years in their own ways, but does that mean we're never going to see them on screen together again? According to Knoxville, while there are no plans for a new Jackass movie currently, it's not totally out of the cards just yet.
Johnny Knoxville recently attended CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote his new movie Action Point. It's been 15 years since Jackass: The Movie hit theaters and a lot has changed since then. The cast and crew have assembled to look back and celebrate the 15th anniversary while also sharing stories and secrets from the set. When Jackass started as a TV show on MTV, nobody, not even its creators thought that it would last longer than the first 8 episodes because there was nothing like it on TV and there was no precedent. As the show became outrageously popular, more lawyers got involved and kids started to try and replicate the zany stunts that the Jackass crew pulled off, which led to MTV placing restrictions on the show. At the height of the success, the crew decided to call it quits.
