Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the season-finale episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. While it wasn’t the planned ending, tonight’s Season 16 finale of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, written by Mark Driscoll and Tameson Duffy and directed by Deborah Pratt, was fitting. Indeed, this season was cut short due to the halting of production in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
You can’t be the longest-running medical drama on television without overcoming some challenges, and Grey’s already has proved its ability to pivot when the unexpected happens. The production shutdown was is the second major curveball for the show this season after original cast member Justin Chambers’ abrupt exit. No word on whether the four unproduced episodes from Season 16 will roll over to the next season. But this episode, titled “Put on a Happy Face,” had enough to tide us over until Season 17.

Updated: Fifteen days ago, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy became one of the first series to suspend production as the U.S. and Hollywood were just starting to grasp the scope of the coronavirus health crisis. At the time, the hiatus was going to be for at least two weeks. Now it has been made permanent for Season 16, which will not resume production to complete filming on additional episodes amid an escalating Covid-19 outbreak in the country that has claimed the lives of more than 1,300 people.

One woman's vagina is causing quite a ruckus in evangelical circles. Well known evangelical blogger Rachel Held Evans spent the past year trying to "live biblically" by following the Bible's instructions -- from calling her husband "master" to camping out in her front yard during her period -- for her new book, "Year of Biblical Womanhood." Last week, Evans learned her book will not be carried by LifeWay, one of the biggest Christian bookstore chains in the country.
"Vaginagate," as Evans has called the controversy, is focusing attention on the Christian publishing business, as fans and fellow Christian writers have come forward in solidarity, signing petitions and sharing stories of their own censorship at the hands of the lucrative industry. While the reasons behind the chain's decision have not been disclosed, Evans said she was warned this summer that if she refused to take out a reference to her 16-year-old self's vagina,...
