This was a Christmas treat for Hallmark Channel fans. Four The Good Witch cast members reunited at Christmas Con in New Jersey in December 2024. Catherine Bell, Catherine Disher, James Denton, and Sarah Power addressed the revival rumors that have been swirling around.

What Happened?

In July 2021, Hallmark Channel canceled the series despite its popularity. A year later, Variety reported that The Good Witch could return at some point. Since then, getting a revival back on the network has been a push and pull. Hallmark Media then shared they were done with this story.

During the 2024 Christmas Con panel, Bell admitted that she missed filming the show. She felt that the ending was abrupt. “I think we were all a bit surprised that it ended. It seemed to end a little bit sooner than I think everyone wanted. Certainly, from what you guys were telling us as well,” Bell explained, per Entertainment Now.

It has been four and a half years since Good Witch ended with Season 7. However, Goodies have been holding out hope. Could Hallmark bring back the magical series for a movie? Here is what some of the cast recently said about that possibility.

James Denton’s “Desperate Housewives” character Mike Delfino was shot 12 years ago, much to the dismay of many of the show’s fans. But when asked by People which episode of the series was his favorite, Denton immediately pointed to Delfino’s demise. “The one where I got shot,” he said. “It’s always fun to get chills on camera.”

Denton also told the outlet about the rigging and special effects that made the shooting death believable on camera. “You have one tube up one leg of your pants that has the blood to your chest, and you have a wire running down the other leg. This guy is out in the bushes with a detonator to set the blast off,” he explained.

Hallmark Channel spoilers and updates reveal the cast of “Good Witch” recently reunited at Christmas Con and shared their dreams for a comeback of the popular show.

Christmas Con took place in New Jersey on Dec. 14, and Catherine Bell, James Denton, Catherine Disher and Sarah Power reunited on stage for a panel moderated by People’s Breanne L. Heldman.

Hallmark Channel Spoilers – The Cast Hadn’t Seen Each Other In Quite A While

Catherine Disher reflected on the reunion with the cast. She said “It’s amazing how we could go a decade without seeing each other, and then when we finally do, it feels like no time has passed at all; it was such a wonderful group.”

Fresh off the series celebrating its 20th anniversary last month, the Desperate Housewives creator is revealing that he would love to revisit the series, but he would want to do it during a completely different era and to be able to write a very specific character again.

During a chat with People, Cherry revealed that he would love to do a Desperate Housewives prequel series set in the '60s. The Emmy-nominated showrunner said, "I would probably want to do the idea maybe in an earlier decade. Because the character I miss writing the most is Wisteria Lane. That was the most fun playground anyone in the history of television has ever had, because we owned the whole street."

With Halloween officially over, it’s time for Christmas movies. While the Hallmark+ streaming app has hundreds of holiday movies, some of their favorites from 2023 are not yet on the app but have been added to Netflix.

Hallmark Channel officially launched the 15th annual Countdown to Christmas event in October (full schedule here), with new movies airing each weekend and holiday movies now streaming 24/7. Hallmark fans are excited about Lacey Chabert’s first Netflix movie, Hot Frosty. This Christmas movie will be premiering on Wednesday, November 13. However, subscribers will be able to see Lacey and other favorite Hallmark stars like Bethany Joy Lenz, and Kristoffer Polaha.

On Tuesday, What’s On Netflix revealed that Netflix will be streaming 10 Hallmark Christmas movies as part of its 2024 holiday season programming. All but one premiered in 2023. Three of these movies star Hallmark Christmas Queen Lacey Chabert.

Rebecca and her family head to Mustang Point Ranch for a family vacation. She is a professor that is juggling her work, and trying to get tenure while being a single mom. A widow, she has two sons who need her attention more than ever. A visit to this ranch is something they have wanted.

Hallmark describes its “Fall Into Love” movie lineup as providing a “season of sweater weather, pumpkin spice lattes and ghost stories” and it’s a series of six movies.

The announcement was made Friday, August 3 and the movies will air throughout September and October, featuring such Hallmark stars as the aforementioned Lacey Chabert and Jodi Sweetin.

The Hannah Swenson series, and the Mystery Lane series also have one entry apiece in the event.

Christmas on Cherry Lane features a sprawling cast of actors we continually welcome into our homes, and we get to peer inside of characters' homes on Cherry Lane.

Hallmark is delivering 40 brand-new original films across its multiple platforms with new movies premiering on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night all season long. The festivities will kick off on Friday, Oct. 20 and will run around the clock throughout the holiday season.

Hallmark has revealed that it will have 40 all-new, original movies for both its flagship channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as special content for Hallmark Movies Now, the company’s subscription streaming service.

Even though the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes impacted TV and film productions, Hallmark anticipated the labor dispute by getting a head start on production in Canada. “Christmas is a year-round business at Hallmark, so we were able to mitigate early in the year understanding that the strikes were unfortunately imminent,” Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP of programming at Hallmark Media, was recently quoted as saying. “We’re grateful to meet all our goals for a full, all-new holiday slate and to bring our viewers the content they love most to celebrate the season.”

Holiday programming kicks off Friday, Oct. 20 with the channel’s Countdown to Christmas and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas.

Fox announced late Tuesday that it had canceled Fantasy Island.

The news broke less than 24 hours after the Fantasy Island Season 2 finale.

"We were very pleased with Fantasy Island's fun and escapist creative, which we had hoped would gain strong traction among viewers," the network said in a statement, adding:

"We'd also like to thank Fantasy Island's cast, led by Roselyn Sánchez, Kiara Barnes and John Gabriel Rodriquez, crew and executive producers Liz Craft, Sarah Fain and Anne Clements for their partnership on the series."

Fantasy Island averaged 2.8 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in its final season with Live + 7 playback included.

The numbers were very soft for Fox, but the fact that the show had a small group of series regulars meant there was a chance the show could survive.
