- Was the last living survivor who would speak and participate in any Titanic functions. The 2 survivors who died prior to her (Lillian Asplund and Barbara West Dainton) refused to speak about the disaster. She was also in the same lifeboat as Barbara West Dainton.
- Was the only Titanic survivor living up until her own death on May 31st, 2009.
- Was a 3rd class passenger on the Titanic and had boarded on lifeboat 10, which was the first lifeboat to load third-class passengers. In the lifeboat that she had occupied with her mother and her brother, there were only 2 other third-class passengers (one man and one woman).
- Aboard the same lifeboat (#10) as Mary Farquersen-Marvin, the new wife of Daniel Marvin whose father was founder of American Mutoscope & Biograph Co. Daniel Marvin perished in the tragedy in which the docu-drama RMS Titanic: The Story Biograph Told (2012) is based on.
- Was the youngest passenger on the Titanic when the ship sank.
