Review: Over the six decades of his acting career, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in comedies, dramas, action movies, and horror flicks, but until now, he has not starred in a television series. With streaming services now as robust as any movie studio, the biggest names in Hollywood have headlined their own small-screen shows. Schwarzenegger’s Netflix series Fubar tries to replicate the best elements of the iconic actor’s filmography by blending action and humor with some new blood in the form of Top Gun: Maverick star Monica Barbaro. Fubar aims high but feels barely more than a network television spy series that could have been so much better considering the talent involved.

Camrus Johnson may have officially suited up as Batwing on “Batwoman” last year, but this week, he’s wearing both his super suit and his director’s cap. And he’s pretty sure he couldn’t have gotten a better episode to start with.
The 11th episode of Season 3, titled “Broken Toys,” sees the return of Marquis Jet (Nick Creegan), back to full health thanks to Poison Ivy’s antics last week — and he’s ready to destroy Batwoman and her crew. You can watch an exclusive sneak peek of his return in the video above.
Between directing Gotham’s new age Joker, Batwoman herself (and all her family drama), and Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) — who is back to her normal self and grappling with what she’s done — we had to ask: is there anything Johnson didn’t get to do in his directorial debut?

‘Drag Race,’ ‘Love Is Blind,’ ‘Queer Eye’ Casting Directors on Finding Honest and Open Personalities
Those who cast unscripted series often have thousands of audition tapes to pore through. Therefore, honesty and authenticity were two key traits for which all of this year’s Emmy-nominees in the reality program casting looked.

As far as fall finales go, Batwoman Season 1 Episode 8 manages to deliver high drama while setting us up for some serious comeuppance in the back half (middle third now I guess with the full episode order) of the season.
To get at the heart of the matter, there are three major relationship shifts to address.
Each of them opens a door to potential future conflict and character development. None of them bode well for Kate.
Let's start with the one I honestly couldn't care less about -- Sophie and Tyler.
Despite Sophie determinedly choosing to ignore any feelings she still harbors for Kate and commit herself to her marriage on Batwoman Season 1 Episode 7, Tyler can't take that at face value apparently.
Fair enough. The woman you married hid a previous relationship and an entire aspect of her sexuality from you. We get it. Things are complicated.
Maybe it's because we've...

As we’re approaching Christmas, that means the Arrowverse shows are due to take a month’s break before returning in the new year. This time around, the midseason finales are being knocked forward a week, too, as the actual final installments of the series before the holidays will be given over to the big “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover. So, Batwoman‘s midseason finale, for example, will be with us in just a couple of weeks.
Episode 1×08 is titled “A Mad Tea-Party” and, as you’d expect, will focus on the dynamic between Kate Kane and her nemesis/long-lost sister Alice, who has her most dangerous scheme ever up her sleeves. At least, that’s going by this synopsis, which also touches on some surprises in the vigilante’s personal life as well.

Despite having some of its detractors, I’d say the new Batwoman TV series is off to a decent start. The pilot episode may not have been perfect, but it was far from being terrible, at least in my view. And if last night’s episode, “The Rabbit Hole,” proved anything, it’s that this show is starting to hit its stride. At the very least, it confirmed that Wonder Woman exists in the Arrowverse.
So, even while we await Hush’s arrival in the next episode to air, it certainly won’t hurt us to look beyond that. As you may have heard, yet another familiar Batman villain, Magpie, will pop up in the adventure to follow. And though she was entirely absent from the gallery of images promoting “Who Are You?,” the femme fatale will most certainly be showing up.
Strangely enough, Magpie is merely hinted at in the official synopsis,...

X-Files Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering Chris Carter's 10-episode continuation of the X-Files television series.Shafts of light outlined by drizzly mist. A soon-to-be massacred boy (Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez) separated from his mother. A shape-shifting monster lurking in the woods. Business as usual on The X-Files, though there’s something about the adeptly creepy teaser sequence of “Familiar” (the eighth episode of Season 11, penned by former Xf writer’s assistant Benjamin Van Allen, and beautifully, atmospherically directed by series newcomer Holly Dale) that feels provocatively off and strange. It’s a sensation that extends over the entirety of an installment sure to be categorized as “old school,” though it more accurately blends the freshly peculiar with the staunchly, yes, familiar. “Thanks for backing me up out there,” says FBI Special Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to her partner Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) after they mutually spar...

Mulder and Scully investigate weird crimes for the FBI. Sometimes, those crimes don’t have anything to do with government conspiracies — sometimes, they feature evils both supernatural and all-too-human.
This Week’s Dossier
Mulder and Scully arrive in a small Connecticut town to investigate the strange and violent death of a police officer’s son, who was found mutilated in the woods. But Scully suspects that what might seem like an animal attack could actually be the work of an adult in the community, while Mulder’s got his theories about hybrid wolves and, eventually, witchcraft.
Unfortunately, while they investigate, the police chief’s daughter is also killed in a similar fashion — supporting Mulder’s theory that a witch’s “familiar” is luring those children into the woods using their favorite TV show characters. However, the grieving father of the first victim,...

The speculation surrounding the currently empty director’s chair of Marvel’s planned Captain Marvel movie continues to focus on Angelina Jolie. According to Collider’s updated story from their sources at Marvel, the appointment of Patty Jenkins as director of Wonder Woman for Warner Bros. has essentially kicked that speculation up a gear, moving the rumor status from the studio being ‘in pursuit of Jolie’ to being ‘in hot pursuit of Jolie.’ It remains to be seen whether the actress-director is either interested in making a comic book adaptation, or has the time – but the rumors highlight an interesting, yet frustrating trend in the current superhero genre.
There is no denying that both DC/Warner Bros. and Marvel/Disney have heeded audience calls for better female representation in their superhero movie franchises. Less than ten years ago, every major superhero release was led by male characters, but now, we...

Plot:
An undercover Simmons finds herself in a jam when Hydra begin a security crackdown, led by the beautiful and deadly Bobby Morse. And Raina is also feeling the pressure as she is caught in the grips of both Daniel Whitehall and Skye’s Father.
Verdict:
Things are certainly heating up with Agents of Shield right now as the tension and stakes continue to rise with each and every episode, which just comes to show how far the series has changed since it’s lacklustre first season (the strong run of final episodes does not save the entire season).
First I have to say that Adrianne Palicki was really good as Bobbi Morse (who in the comics is known as Mockingbird, an agent of Shield and Avenger) and we got to see two sides to her character in her introductory episode. We...

Agents of Shield, Season 2, Episode 5: “A Hen in the Wolfhouse”
Written by Brent Fletcher
Directed by Holly Dale
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm Et on ABC
“A Hen in the Wolfhouse” dials back the amount of action from “Face My Enemy”, but makes up for it with more Kyle MacLachlan, Simmons’ undercover work at Hydra, and the reveal of Mockingbird. The writers also squeeze in Skye discovering Coulson’s two big secrets, Fitz and Simmons reuniting, and another Skye-Ward interrogation scene. With so much going on, “A Hen in the Wolfhouse” should feel rushed and over-stuffed, but everything dovetails so neatly that none of the action or plot points feel forced.
At the center of the episode’s action is Simmons’ undercover work at Hydra. She is getting more information about the Obelisk and how Hydra plans to weaponize it, but when Hydra catches word that there is a mole in their midst,...
