Superman and Lois returns to our screens for its fourth and final season on October 7 with an extended premiere, and it sounds like these last episodes will build to something we have yet to see in any previous Superman-based project.
According to TV Line, the series finale will "do something that no previous Man of Steel-themed TV series or movie has ever done before."
This covers a lot of ground - especially if animated projects are included (they don't specify if it's only live-action), so it's difficult to come up with one particular thing no previous Superman movie or show has ever touched upon.
We're sure there are a few comic book aficionados out there who will be able to at least hazard a guess, so be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section down below.

Superman and Lois returns to our screens for its fourth and final season on October 7 with a 2-episode premiere, and The CW has now released a full trailer which will likely hit fans of the series right in the feels.
We already knew that the Man of Steel (Tyler Hoechlin) would be checking out pretty early on after the events of the season 3 finale, but this teaser shows the moment Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and their sons discover Clark's body after his fateful battle with the monstrous Doomsday.
It looks like Jordan (Alex Garfin) will step up and attempt to fill the void left by his legendary father, but will he have what it takes to match wits with Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz)? The trailer also suggests that Doomsday might still be a threat, which would be a change from the Death of Superman comic, as Superman neutralizes his enemy before succumbing to his injuries.

To say that Superman and Lois season 4 is highly anticipated would be an understatement. Fans, like myself, have been waiting over a year to see how showrunner Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher bring Clark Kent and Lois Lane's story to a close. We know we're in for a bittersweet goodbye. The superhero family drama is ending its run far before its intended close as the hope was that it'd be on air for at least seven seasons.
They are, however, at least ending on a high note according to Tyler Hoechlin. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the star said, "Somehow we may have actually pulled off our strongest season of the series. And that's saying a lot with some of the limitations that we had put on us."
His words are music to fans' ears as the final season is set to have an ambitious season long story...

Earlier this week, we brought you the official synopses for Superman & Lois' upcoming two-part premiere. Now, that's been followed by a synopsis for the entire fourth season!
This one sheds more light on Lex Luthor's twisted master plan and what we can expect from supporting characters like John Henry Irons, Chrissy Beppo, and Kyle Cushing. As for the Man of Steel himself, all we learn here is that he's "locked in a ferocious, moon-wrecking battle" with Doomsday.
If The CW is planning to adapt the Death and Resurrection of Superman from the comics, we're not exactly shocked his role in this fourth and final season is being kept under wraps.
Here's the full Superman & Lois season 4 synopsis:

We recently learned that Superman & Lois will return for its fourth and final season a little sooner than expected on October 7 and The CW has just shared the official descriptions for the two-part premiere.
The first is titled "The End & The Beginning" and teases, "Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) is locked in a brutal battle with Luthor’s monster; Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and the boys race against time to save General Lane (Dylan Walsh). Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Brent Fletcher & Todd Helbing."
The second episode is going to be called "A World Without" but this synopsis understandably offers no real insights into the outcome of the Man of Steel's battle with Doomsday.
However, it sounds like Lex Luthor is still on the loose and about to enact his twisted plan for Smallville. "Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Sarah (Inde Navarrette) join the fight against Luthor (Michael Cudlitz), who starts making moves in Smallville.

The CW has confirmed today that the fourth and final season of Supergirl & Lois will premiere sooner than expected.
In response to ABC creating an 8 pm - 10 pm game show block on Mondays for Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune and Press Your Luck, The Wranglers is moving from Thursday to Monday, swapping nights with Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit.
With Tuesdays and Fridays spoken for thanks to WWE Nxt and Inside The NFL, the only choice was to move Superman & Lois, meaning it's now set to debut on Monday, October 7 instead of October 17.
Don't worry, though, because we're still getting the originally scheduled two-hour premiere. Superman & Lois will then continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm for the duration of its final season.
The CW's President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz has taken the network in a vastly different direction since it was home to the Arrowverse and shows like Supernatural and Riverdale.

The Death of Superman is a popular story that has been told and retold since it first began in Action Comics #684 as part of the Doomsday arc. Superman dies, often at the hands of Doomsday, and typically comes back to life one way or another. Since 1992, it’s been almost like a rite of passage for Superman stories to tell some version of it, from comics to animated films to Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman and Justice League. And now, with their fourth and final season approaching, it looks like Superman & Lois is officially taking their turn with the story.
In the Den of Geek Sdcc studio, we got confirmation from the cast and creators that this is, in fact, the story they’re doing this season, as well as how this version differs from the others. “We’re doing ‘The Death of Superman,’” executive producer Todd Helbing confirms.

The first look at the final season of Superman & Lois was revealed before the cast descended on San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 27). The CW‘s last superhero show will return for its final stretch this fall, and the cast and creatives appeared at the convention to introduce the video preview. When does Superman & Lois Season 4 premiere? The show will premiere with a two-episode presentation on Thursday, October 17 on The CW. Who stars in Superman & Lois? Due to budget cuts, the main cast of the Arrowverse adjacent show was whittled down to just five (from a previous count of 12 series regulars). The core cast now includes Tyler Hoechlinas Superman aka Clark Kent (aka Kal-El), Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, and Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor. Stars who were demoted in the cuts included Dylan Walsh (Sam Lane...

The CW released a brief teaser for season 4 of Superman and Lois earlier this week, confirming that the final batch of episodes will indeed adapt the Death of Superman arc.
Now, the full trailer has hit (though it seems a longer version is still set to debut during Sdcc this weekend), and the footage indicates that the Man of Steel (Tyler Hoechlin) will be checking out pretty early on, leaving Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and their sons to pick up the pieces.
It looks like Jordan (Alex Garfin) will step up and attempt to fill the void left by his legendary father, but will he have what it takes to match wits with Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz)? The teaser also suggests that Doomsday might still be a threat, which would be a change from the comic, as Superman neutralizes his enemy before succumbing to his injuries.
Check out the trailer at the link below.

Could The CW have one last Arrowverse crossover up its sleeve? Following remarks made by Tom Cavanagh at a convention over the weekend, TVLine has confirmed that the Flash vet will appear in the series finale of Superman & Lois, appropriately titled “It Went By So Fast.”
Cavanagh originally hoped to direct the pivotal episode, having previously helmed the Season 1 finale and Season 3 premiere, but the gig was already promised to frequent Superman & Lois director Gregory Smith. That’s when showrunner Todd Helbing got an idea, one that will leave fans theorizing for months to come.

Acclaimed Chinese film director Chen Daming is expected to direct “The Peking Express,” a book-to-film adaptation of the story of an infamous train robbery that took place 100 years ago.
The non-fiction book was written Beijing-based writer and lawyer James Zimmerman and was an ‘Editor’s Choice’ selection by the New York Times. It describes the raid on a luxury express train by Chinese bandits in Shandong Province in 1923 and the ensuing six-week hostage standoff that captivated the world. So extraordinary are the events recounted in The Peking Express that it reads like fantasy…yielding a captivating story of robbery, murder, hostages and intrigue…,” said the paper in a review of the book.
A screenplay is currently being drafted and it is envisaged that the film will be structured as a China-international co-production.

[This story contains major spoilers through the first two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.]
In the earliest days of The Walking Dead, no one was safe. Not even beloved comic book characters. Just ask Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn), who survives dozens of issues in Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s comics, only to die unexpectedly in the show’s second season.
But as the series wore on, it felt increasingly unlikely to lose any major players from the board, a notion that contributed to Christian Serratos requesting to be written out in the series finale. Rosita notwithstanding, the late stages of The Walking Dead were fairly easy on even the supporting cast. Gone were the days where a fan-favorite antihero like Michael Rooker’s Merle could bite the dust after so much build-up, or even moves as shocking as Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) twin executions in the season seven premiere, divisive as that story decision was.

The end of ‘Superman & Lois’ with its fourth season comes as a bit of a shocker. The CW’s decision to wrap up the show is linked to the new direction DC Universe is taking under James Gunn, especially with the upcoming ‘Superman: Legacy’. The scoop comes from The Wrap, where The CW’s entertainment chief, Brad Schwartz, shared insights. He mentioned Warner Bros.’s strategy to avoid having competing Superman narratives in the market.
It’s a bummer for fans who’ve followed the Lane-Kent family saga. The show had to let go of seven main characters and cut down to just ten episodes for its final season due to budget constraints. This makes it the shortest season in the series’ run. With Nexstar taking over The CW and shifting the network’s focus, it seemed like ‘Superman & Lois’ was already on thin ice.

Chrissy Beppo’s baby daddy is officially back in action. Erik Valdez on Tuesday posted a selfie from his trailer on the set of Superman & Lois, confirming his return in the CW drama’s upcoming fourth and final season.
One of the last remaining original scripted shows on the network, Superman & Lois‘ Season 4 renewal came with a few major caveats. Not only was its traditional episode order reduced, but only five actors would be returning as series regulars, leaving fans to wonder how much of the show’s ensemble cast — including Valdez as Kyle Cushing — would still have a presence on the show.

Lex marked the spot on Tuesday’s Superman & Lois, as the Man of Steel’s most iconic adversary (now played by The Walking Dead‘s Michael Cudlitz) finally touched down in Smallville.
But this isn’t your father’s, or even your grandfather’s, Lex Luthor. He’s still a bald billionaire — arguably the character’s two key requirements — but his slick, well-groomed facade has been replaced by the kind of gruff, bearded nightmare you’d never want to encounter in a dark alley. Think less Succession and more Sons of Anarchy.

We knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less upsetting.
Seven series regulars have been let go from The CW's Superman & Lois ahead of season 4.
The news comes the same week the show eked out a 10-episode renewal for the 2023-24 season with the caveat that there would be budget cuts.
We already reported that Dylan Walsh was departing as General Sam Lane, and now, six other beloved cast members are joining him, Deadline reports.
Buckle up because this isn't easy to report.
The Lang family is no more as Emmanuelle Chriqui (as Mayor Lana Lang), Erik Valdez (as Lana's ex-husband Kyle Cushing), and Inde Navarrette (as Lana and Kyle's daughter Sarah) are all being written out.
The bad news extends to the Irons family, with Wolé Parks (as Superman's ally John Henry Irons) and Tayler Buck (as John Henry's daughter Natalie) also not landing...

In 2001, the first two episodes of HBO's World War II miniseries, "Band of Brothers," aired just two days before the September 11 terrorist attacks, an event that would irrevocably alter America and its perception of its own war history, much of which it has mythologized on film. However, when creators Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks set out to adapt Stephen E. Ambrose's nonfiction book, "Band of Brothers," they wanted their follow-up to "Saving Private Ryan" to have the ring of historical authenticity.
On "Saving Private Ryan," Hanks had already found himself channeling his character, Captain Miller, when other members of the cast threatened to quit before filming even started. The experience of being forced to go "method" and attend a rigorous boot camp, led by the senior military advisor and real-life Marine veteran Dale Dye, left some of them wanting to bow out.

It’s the walking dread! Smallville is in for some big trouble now that The Walking Dead‘s Michael Cudlitz is (bald) heading to Superman & Lois as supervillain, Lex Luthor. This isn’t the first time the iconic character created chaos on The CW. Luthor was previously played as Musk-like madman in the Arrowverse by Jon Cryer on Supergirl. This time, however, he’s getting the more-grounded S&l treatment, it seems. The official description states that Lex “is known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp. But the criminal underworld knows who Lex truly is: a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with. It’s been years since he dropped out of the public eye and he’s re-emerging hellbent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on the two people he feels have wronged him.” You guessed it. Those two are Superman (Tyler Hoechlin...

It's been more than 20 years since HBO released its acclaimed war drama miniseries "Band of Brothers," which dramatized the history of Easy Company and the American soldiers who fought in and up until World War II. There is a good reason it still manages to impress to this day — apart from showcasing the visceral, uncompromising horrors of war, it authentically captured the cruelty and pathos inherent in the millions of civilian lives lost in the process.
Based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 non-fiction book of the same name, "Band of Brothers" deftly balances the heroism of those who fought for the cause and the senseless violence that plagued these times, while also lending a platform to the survivors, whose relay their real-life experiences at the beginning of some episodes.

Paul Walker enjoyed a lengthy career in Hollywood that carried him through various roles in several unique movies before his unfortunate death in 2013 at just 40 years old. Fans likely remember him best as Brian O'Conner in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, but the talented and handsome actor also appeared in critical hits such as "Pleasantville," "Joy Ride," and Clint Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers," and served as executive producer on the films "Vehicle 19," "Hours," and "Pawn Shop Chronicles." He even enjoyed a guest spot on National Geographic's "Expedition Great White" in 2009.
In his youth, Walker popped up in a variety of high-profile TV shows, among them "Highway to Heaven," "Charles in Charge," "Who's the Boss," and "Touched by an Angel," before making the leap to schlocky B-movie horror films such as "Tammy and the Rex," opposite Denise Richards, in which his character's brain somehow lands inside a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
