What We Do in the Shadows actor Harvey Guillén and The Orville’s Adrianne Palicki are set to lead the cast of the pickleball mockumentary film Pickleheads.

According to Deadline, Josh Flanagan and Pej Vahdat will co-direct the original comedy mockumentary Pickleheads, starring Harvey Guillén and Adrianne Palicki. Vahdat, who also acts in the film, will make his feature-length directorial debut with Pickleheads after appearing in featured roles on hit shows such as Jeff Bridges' The Old Man, Empire, and Bones. Other cast members include Kristine Froseth, Eric Nelsen, Ryan Cooper, Lindsey Morgan, Sam Humphrey, and Jared Bonner.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Erin Moriarty (best known for playing Starlight on The Boys) and Jamie Campbell Bower (now best known for playing Vecna on Stranger Things) had signed on to star in director Gary Fleder‘s film True Haunting, based on a novel by Edwin F. Becker (pick up a copy Here) – a novel that was based on the story of an actual haunting and exorcism, “the first ever filmed and televised by NBC in 1971.” True Haunting may not end up being released under that title (the project is now known as the “untitled True Haunting movie”), but Deadline reports that Sony is planning to get it into theatres on January 6, 2023.

The film follows a arms dealer, who after escaping his prison transport and hijacks a fully weaponized Blackhawk over downtown Los Angeles, it’s up to a top LAPD helicopter pilot to take him down before the entire city is destroyed. Millennium Films is financing. Cindy Cowan is producing.

Waugh’s feature credits include the film Act of Valor, which gained notoriety for the use of real Navy-seals to accomplish the complex action sequences. He most recently directed Snafu, an upcoming action adventure feature starring John Cena and Jackie Chan. The film is a Chinese co-production slated for release in 2022.

Tommy "Tiny" Lister has passed away. He was 62-years old. Lister is probably best-known for his role as Deebo in the Friday franchise, starring alongside Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. His manager, Cindy Cowan, confirmed the news of his death this evening. Cowan said he was found unconscious in his apartment in Marina del Rey, California after displaying symptoms of Covid-19 earlier in the week. He had been working on a movie and had to take a breather after feeling ill.

Cindy Cowan says, "He was a wonderful guy with a heart of gold. Everyone loved him. A real gentle giant. We're all devastated." Law enforcement says that Tommy "Tiny" Lister was dead before the paramedics could arrive on the scene. While he had Covid-19 symptoms, it has not been confirmed that that was the cause of the actor's death. Lister, who stood 6 feet, 5 inches tall, started his career in the late 1980s.

Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Rachel Bloom is adding boy band aficionado to her resume.

The co-creator of hit series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” has signed on to write the script for a movie about two *Nsync superfans at Sony Pictures label TriStar.

Based on an idea by band member and producer Lance Bass, Bloom is tackling the project about real life best friends Meredith Sandberg and Winter Byington, who spent a summer following *Nsync on their last world tour.

“I’m so excited to work on this road trip musical that will explore the nature of early 2000’s nostalgia and if the past was, indeed, actually better. Also, I Get To Work With Lance Bass!” said Bloom.

Bass is producing through his eponymous production label with Cindy Cowan for Cindy Cowan Entertainment. Shary Shirazi, VP of Production, and Nicole Brown, President of TriStar Pictures, are overseeing the project for the studio.

Gary Fleder has signed on to direct the espionage thriller “Line of Control” with Brickell & Broadbridge Intl. on board to finance and sell the project at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival.

Fleder, whose credits include “Runaway Jury,” “Homefront” and “Kiss the Girls,” will direct from a Ben Dubash script. “Line of Control” will explore the intense subculture of “K&r” as an American kidnap and ransom specialist fights to rescue the daughter of a U.S. senator.

Dwf:la’s 2020 lineup has more than 200 titles, including narrative features, documentaries, pilots, web series, music videos, short films, and films by young people. Pitched as “Girls Trip” meets “Pitch Perfect,” the film is based on the true story of two best friends from Park City, Utah, who used game show earnings to buy a motor home and travel the U.S. to catch Bass and company — Justin Timberlake, Jc Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick — on their fourth and final national tour.
