Taye Diggs got his start in the professional performing arts world on stage, not on screen. He had a successful Broadway career with roles in Carousel and Rent before he appeared in his first TV roles in 1996. He has become such a prolific film and TV actor since then that many might forget that hes a song and dance man first.
Diggs first big screen break was with the romance How Stella Got Her Groove Back in 1998. Hes been nonstop as an actor and writer ever since. In fact, in addition to all his work on screen, Diggs has also written four childrens books and founded a dance company. With all of his creative talent, its no wonder that he has worked on so many great movies and TV shows.

Practically speaking, there's a reason why most aliens on "Star Trek" are humanoid. Not only are they humanoid, but they all share very similar specific features: two legs, two arms, two eyes, one mouth, teeth, and/or hair. Many aliens look identical to humans apart from ridges on their foreheads or elaborate skin markings. This is because all the aliens on "Star Trek" are played by human actors. Very occasionally, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) might encounter a Melkot or a Tholian who were achieved through puppetry or photographic effects, but for the most part, aliens were played by Earth's boring ol' Homo sapiens actors.
By the time the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "The Chase" aired on April 26, 1993, Trekkies had been watching the franchise long enough to ask why — from an in-canon perspective — all aliens looked like humans. "The Chase" came up with a cute (if not wholly satisfying...

A sci-fi horror from the directorial duo of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who made a name for themselves with the documentary Catfish and went on to helm a couple of found footage Paranormal Activity films. Viral marks the duo’s second traditional feature following cyber-thriller Nerve (which has helmed Before this film but released afterwards).
The film follows teenager Emma Drakeford (Sofia Black-d’Elia) and her sister Stacey (Analeigh Tipton) who – after a catastrophic virus wipes out much of the world’s population – are left to fend for themselves in their quarantined town. However, when the deadly infection spreads throughout the safe zone, Emma is left with some difficult choices as she attempts to protect her...

The second season of Murder in the First is winding down on TNT. This detective show's season ratings weren't all that great inits first year but how is it doing this time around? Have the numbers gone up or down? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?

The ratings for the first season of Murder in the First weren't terrible but they weren't great either. Other shows with similar numbers were cancelled but TNT still renewed the detective drama. Will the numbers improve or fall this time around? Cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.

So entangled is the new mystery at the heart of Murder in the First Season 2, even the good people of 850 Bryant Street fall under suspicion, as seen in the first full trailer for the TNT drama’s return.

From my perspective, computer-graphic animation is at the top of it's game. Digital animation continually leaps to new bounds etween the cute, simplistic styles you see in films like "Shrek" and "Ice Age" to the motion-capture we see in "The Polar Express" and "Avatar." When a powerful computer-graphic animated film like Pixar's "Toy Story" emerges through the middle of my childhood, it's been a great joy to see how this new realm of story telling has grown throughout the years before my eyes."Rango" may be another one that breaks a new boundary in the animation front. The crisp, wonderful detail still glistens it's cartoon-like roots through the different frames of Gore Verbinski's first journey through the realm of animation. I got the chance to talk to animation director Hal Hickel and visual effects supervisor Tim Alexander about the process of "Rango" and their own thoughts on motion-capture, 3D...

Chicago – The 1957 Little League team from Monterrey, Mexico, was the first non-u.S. team to win that league’s World Series. That is a fact. “The Perfect Game” creates a story based on that fact that is as improbable as a team from Mars winning the big game.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
The story begins in the dusty Mexican town south of the Texas border that looks like it was last used for a Pancho Villa movie. But this is 1957, and the town’s boys are baseball crazy, seemingly knowing every statistic, including that Sandy Koufax is a rookie for the Brooklyn Dodgers. They have passion for the game, but no structure.
In a very strange sequence, a real baseball appears out of nowhere, which replaces the woven rags the boys were using before. If they can only find a coach, their team might be complete. It just so happens that one of...

Morelia, Mexico -- Mexican shingle Goliat Films has begun shooting "Nomads," an English-language drama with an international cast featuring Lucy Liu, John Cothran Jr. and Tamlyn Tomita.
Penned and directed by Mexican helmer Ricardo Benet, the story centers on a documentary filmmaker (Liu) who is making a picture about subway suicides.
Rounding out the cast are Mexicans Tenoch Huerta, who starred in the U.S.-Mexico immigration thriller "Sin Nombre," and Dagoberto Gama.
The film will be shot in New York and Mexico City. Benet's first feature, "News From Afar," won prizes at the Biarritz and Mar del Plata festivals. Producer Sandro Halphen hopes to premiere the film at next year's Festival de Cannes.
Goliat also will begin production next week in Guadalajara, Mexico, on "April and May," a thriller about two 16-year-old lesbian serial killers. It features "Heroes" actor Shalim Ortiz, Spanish actress Anouk Ogueta and Mexico's Raul Mendez.
