Amazon MGM Studios is not proceeding with the Untitled J. Edgar project, one of the Bosch spinoffs that had been in development at the studio. Meanwhile, Amazon Freevee is not moving forward with the Who’s the Boss? sequel starring Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano, which had been in the works at the streamer.

The Untitled J. Edgar project was on of two Bosch spinoffs announced in February 2023 as being in development at Amazon MGM. The other, which centers on Detective Renée Ballard, was picked up to series earlier this year with Maggie Q starring.

Larry Andries (Blue Bloods) was writing the script for the J. Edgar spinoff, which he executive produced with Michael Connelly, author of the Harry Bosch book series. Andries in March was charged with six felony counts of sexual assault.

Mickey was first introduced in Connelly’s critically acclaimed 2005 novel The Lincoln Lawyer as the younger half-brother of the author’s other most famous character, Harry Bosch. While Matthew McConaughey played Mickey in the 2011 movie, the series explores a different side of the character — one that’s more closely tied to his Latinx roots from the original novel. Amazon Prime Video has released the first full trailer for the upcoming series “Cross.”

Aldis Hodge stars as detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross, with the series based on the James Patterson novels featuring the iconic character. In the trailer, which can be seen in full below, Cross must hunt down a killer who has put the detective in his crosshairs.

“Cross” debuts on Prime Video on Nov. 14 with its full eight-episode first season. As previously reported, the show has already been renewed for Season 2. Along with Hodge, the series stars Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford, and Ryan Eggold.

We finally have great news for fans of Netflix's hit legal drama series The Lincoln Lawyer. While the streaming service previously set the series' third for a release in 2025, we no longer have to wait that long. The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 will make its premiere on Oct. 17, 2024!
