Soap opera fans know Matt Borlenghi’s work all too well. He had an incredible run on All My Children (AMC) as Brian Bodine in the 1990s; played the Bold and the Beautiful’s (B&b) Ziggy Deadmarsh in 2002; and was also on Days of Our Lives (Dool) in 2008, playing Salem’s Mayor, Anthony Marino. Now, the actor has landed a key part in the Lifetime biopic ‘Can You Feel The Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story’.

How Soap Alum Matt Borlenghi Scored The Lifetime Role

It’s been quite some time since Matt Borlenghi played drug dealer Ziggy Deadmarsh on The Bold and the Beautiful. That was in 2002, in and around being in several other TV shows and films over the years. His soap journey landed him in Salem in 2008 to play Mayor Anthony Marino on Days of Our Lives, and he was a fan favorite as Brian Bodine on All My Children. Among his numerous credits are A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989), Castle, and appearing as Lyle The Pawnshop Guy on Cobra Kai. Now, he’s got a fun new part in a Lifetime movie.

Chrisoula Workman filed the defamation and false light lawsuit against Matthew Borlenghi, claiming his comment attached to a Nov. 9 Los Angeles Times online story was false and has harmed her reputation.

Borlenghi is an actor who teaches at a studio operated by Shanelle Gray, Winter's adult sister who currently has custody of the 14-year-old actress. A judge temporarily stripped Workman of custody amid allegations she had been physically and emotionally abusive to the star.

A trial on whether Workman will be completely lose custody is scheduled to begin Wednesday.

Chrisoula 'Crystal' Workman, the mother of Modern Family's Ariel Winter, has sued one of her daughter's associates for alleged defamation, according to The Associated Press.

The news source reports that the defamation suit cites an online comment that actor Matthew Borlenghi allegedly made, referring to Workman as an "abusive monster."

Winter, 14, is currently under the temporary custody of her sister Shanelle Gray, 34. The trial to determine whether Gray will gain permanent custody of her sister is set to begin Wednesday.

Workman lost custody of Ariel in October after court documents were filed, claiming that Ariel "has been the victim of ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name calling, personal insults about minor and minor's height, attempts to 'sexualize' minor, deprivation of food, etc.) for an extended period of time by the minor's mother ..."

This week the latest creature feature out of the House of Roger Corman, Camel Spiders, directed by Jim Wynorski and starring Brian Krause and C.Thomas Howell, has been unleashed onto DVD and Blu-ray shelves everywhere.

The film pits a group of stranded travelers against a horde of deadly and oversized camel spiders who wreak havoc after they overrun a small, unsuspecting rural mountain town.

Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to chat briefly with Krause about his experiences working on the monster movie as well as the fun of playing "make-believe" with CG spiders and what's coming up next for him.

Dread Central: So tell us how you got involved with...

Camel Spiders was just released on Blu-ray/DVD and I was offered the opportunity to interview star Brian Krause (Sleepwalkers, Charmed) about his experience filming the movie. While we only had a brief chat time, I learned about his hate of spiders, working under director Jim Wynorski, and acting with CGI camel spiders.

Thank you for taking the time to talk with me. Camel Spiders is one of those movies that I’ve seen a lot of reader feedback on. Some are disgusted by it, some are excited, and others just don’t enjoy B-movies like this.
