Co-chairs Natasha Koifman and Suzanne Boyd hosted the 14th annual Artists for Peace and Justice (Apj) Festival Gala, an intimate evening raising over 725,000 for education in Haiti.

The night began with a beautiful performance by Haitian-Canadian Wesley (Wesli) Louissaint and Congo-born Lionel Kizaba. Emcees George Stroumboulopoulos and Natasha Gargiulo then returned to the stage for their second consecutive year co-emceeing the Apj Festival Gala, expressing gratitude for supporters and guests and stressing the importance of the cause while detailing the current climate in Haiti.

Natasha Koifman, Canada Board Chair, US Board of Directors and Festival Gala Co-Host, spoke passionately about her commitment to the cause and appreciation for the long-time supporters in attendance. Opening the night in a grateful, passionate, and motivational tone, Koifman thanked everyone who made all of this positive change possible. She highlighted the overall pass rate of above 90 per cent, 1,300 students graduating since 2016, and over 27,000 students attending since its opening.

At the end of the first episode of Murdoch Mysteries back in 2008, inventor Nikola Tesla proclaimed, “We are men of the future, Detective Murdoch, and what a future it shall be.” He was the first of many historical figures to become a character on the quirky, long-running Canadian series, set at the turn of the 20th century, and his words were certainly prophetic. Flash forward to 2022, and Murdoch and Co. are still forging boldly into the future: Season 15 premieres on cable channel Ovation Saturday, February 26 and streaming service Acorn TV Monday, February 28. By the time all 24 episodes air, Murdoch Mysteries will have produced more installments — 239 plus three stand-alone Christmas specials — than Canadian counterpart Heartland, Canada’s longest-running one-hour scripted drama, whose 15th season concluded with the 234th. “That’s the first I’ve heard of it,” says Yannick Bisson, who has played scientifically minded Toronto police detective William Murdoch since day one.

Murdoch Mysteries has a premiere date. Season 15 will arrive in the United States in February, and it is the show's longest season ever with 24 episodes. Starring Yannick Bisson, Hélène Joy, Thomas Craig, Jonny Harris, Lachlan Murdoch, Shanice Banton, Daniel Maslany, Arwen Humphreys, and Siobhan Murphy, the period drama series follows a detective in Toronto as he solves cases at the turn of the century.

Detective Murdoch is back on the case and is returning next month. Ovation has announced that season 14 of the Murdoch Mysteries TV series (previously titled as The Artful Detective in the United States) will debut on Saturday, February 20th. There are 11 episodes this time around.
