- He has an illegitimate daughter who was born in the late nineteen sixties. Her identity is a very well kept secret and Best never saw her during his life.
- In the early 1960s, to show friends his amazing soccer skills, Best would flick a sixpence up into the air with his right foot and it always landed in the breast pocket of his jacket, to their utter amazement.
