Just days after Elon Musk halted the enforcement of Twitter’s Covid-19 misinformation policy, the CEO tweeted that leading immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci should be prosecuted. But Jimmy Fallon is pretty sure Fauci had some insults to give right back.
On Sunday, Musk tweeted, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” both attacking Fauci and mocking the clarification of pronouns used by the transgender community and its allies. In another tweet on Sunday, Musk posted a meme suggesting that Fauci was begging his “king” Joe Biden for another lockdown.
But, during his monologue on Monday, Fallon was pretty sure he knew what Fauci’s response would be.
“Fauci was like, ‘Yep, much like a Tesla battery, Elon’s on fire,'” the late night host mocked. But Fallon had another comeback loaded up, as well.

Hours after the January 6th Committee showed behind-the-scenes footage of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other congressional leaders calling and even begging federal officials and others for resources to stop the attack on the Capitol, CNN showed extended clips throughout much of Anderson Cooper’s AC360.
The clips were riveting, capturing Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell working in unison to try to secure federal and state law and enforcement to quell the violence. As the Capitol was breached, the congressional leaders were taken to a command center at Fort McNair, about two miles away, and it was from there that they called cabinet secretaries and Vice President Mike Pence. They also considered reconvening Congress at that location if the Capitol could not be secured.

Few stories are as classic as those of forbidden love. Make your star-crossed lovers a pair of stubborn teens, and you've got a drama that can appeal to hopeless romantics of all ages. Surely this is the hope for Endless Love, a story about the connections formed between two young lovers who won't give each other up, come hell, high water, or parental scorn. Get a taste of this steamy teen romance in its first trailer, courtesy of MTV. Gabriella Wilde and Alex Pettyfer front the film as Jade Butterfield and David Axelrod. She's a brainy bookworm, who has been too busy studying to notice boys. Yet, she can't help but notice the strapping Axelrod, a boy from the wrong side of the tracks who has a criminal past and casually steals cars for joyrides. Despite their different backgrounds, the two can't fight their shared attraction. Jade's parents won't stand...

The trailer for Endless Love touts that its star-crossed lovers (and presumably us folks in the audience, too) will “say goodbye to innocence.” It’s a surprisingly easy pill to swallow, especially when 75% of the trailer consists of lead actress Gabriella Wilde taking her clothes off. Let your emotions soar as she disrobes in a car! In a field! On a boat! There’s a story to Endless Love amidst all the frenzied garment removal. Jade Butterfield (Wilde) and David Axelrod (Alex Pettyfer) come from wildly different households, but fall in love despite (or maybe, just maybe, because of) the vast gulf between them. Forces will seek to keep the two young lovers apart; forces like parents and teenage stupidity chief among them. But when Jade and David’s love spurns on an act so stupid and dangerous that their relationship is threatened forever, can the two persevere? We’ll have to see the film to find...

Rodham, an upcoming film about Hillary Clinton’s younger years, basically has “Oscar” written all over it. The movie’s screenplay won the number 4 spot on last year’s Black List of best unproduced scripts, an annual roundup that has cited future Best Picture winners like Slumdog Millionaire and The King’s Speech in the past. It’s a period biopic about a complicated political figure, which is a long way of saying “Academy catnip.” And it’s stuffed with meaty roles — future president Bill Clinton, future Massachusetts governor William Weld, Hillary herself — that are sure to attract a plethora of big-name stars.

Conniving, scheming, pint-sized and baggy-eyed.
That's one interpretation of the way Conan O'Brien characterized Chicago Mayor and former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in a video spot during Saturday's annual White House Correspondents' Dinner in D.C. (embedded above)
(See photos below of the 2013 White House Correspondents' Dinner.)
Most of the jokes on political power players like Secretary of State John Kerry and Fox News President Roger Ailes were simple sight gags, though plenty can be read into O'Brien's comparison of Emanuel to a certain diabolical "Family Guy" character.
Though he left life on the Beltway for a crack at governing the Windy City, Emanuel is still considered by many to be a power player in Washington — hence his inclusion in the comedian's spoof based on the popular Netflix miniseries, "House of Cards," which had its own brilliant parody during the night.
(Skip straight to Conan O'Brien's riff on Rahm.

At the White House Correspondents' Dinner President Obama took a few humorous swipes at all three major cable news networks -- MSNBC, CNN and Fox News. He included a joke about how his former senior campaign advisor, David Axelrod, took a job as a senior political analyst at MSNBC and NBC News in February. "Some of my former advisors have switched over to the dark side. For example, David Axelrod now works for MSNBC, which is a nice change of pace since MSNBC used to work for David Axelrod," Obama quipped, according to the official transcript. Video: Obama

Washington, April 28 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama poked fun at the media, his critics and himself on Saturday at the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, a star-filled event where journalists and celebrities mixed with the Washington elite.
Joined at the dinner by his wife, first lady Michelle Obama, the president gently knocked Republicans for not working with him on policy priorities and made a rare reference to his race when urging the opposition party to be cooperative.
"I know Republicans are still sorting out what happened in 2012, but one thing they all agree on is they need to do a better job reaching out to minorities," Obama said.
"And look, call me self-centered, but I can think of one minority they could start with. Hello? Think of me as a trial run, you know?" he said.

C-Span insistently stamped the hashtag “NerdProm” on their coverage of this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, but the annual political roast looked more like Washington’s answer to the Golden Globes. By which I mean, there were several pointed jokes and untold gallons of booze. Conan O’Brien was the official comedy diplomat of the night — a return trip for the late-night host, who slung jokes in President Clinton’s direction back in 1995. But O’Brien was overshadowed by his opener: President Barack Obama, who took the opportunity to make several jabs at NBC, CNN, and even Taylor Swift.

3Rd Update – Final: (See Conan and Obama videos here and here.) We warned you not to expect much from tonight’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. And true to form it failed to deliver. Bland to a fault Conan O’Brien didn’t lay a glove on celebrity-in-chief Barack Obama. (Bring back Seth Meyers…) But the President got an easy laugh with a showbiz joke that couldn’t have made Comcast too happy. (He noted that, of 22 recent basketball shots, he had 2 hits and 20 misses. “The executives at NBC asked, ‘What’s your secret?’” Potus said.) O’Brien’s best line of the night was comparing the relationship between Obama and Speaker of the House John Boehner to a blind date between Anderson Cooper and Rachel Maddow. (“In theory they understand each other’s positions. But deep down you know nothing’s ever going to happen.”) Obama got in the nastiest media dig.

-- Ghostface Killah and Adrian Younge, "Twelve Reasons to Die" (Soul Temple/Red Distribution)
"Twelve Reasons to Die" unites Wu-Tang Clan vet Ghostface Killah with Adrian Younge, one of music's brightest young composers. The album's 12 cinematic tracks trace the trials of a masked Mafioso who is resurrected after his remains are pressed into a dozen vinyl LPs.
Playing like a graphic novel, the Ghostface persona jumps off the page. But aside from the requisite gear gloating (lion skin Wallabees, Black Panther hoodie made of panther skin), his signature impromptu patois is all but absent. Instead, Ghost is in the type of pure storyteller mode last heard on the breakneck hood-noir of his song "Shakey Dog."
Ghost's controlled and committed wordplay is the ideal accommodation for Younge's lush accompaniments. Probably best known for composing the score of the classic Blaxploitation spoof "Black Dynamite," an emphasis on stuttering organs and bleating brass carries over here,...

• Seth Rogen just got a whole lot busier. The This Is the End actor and director has signed on to direct, produce, and star in a comedy that he co-wrote with Evan Goldberg — Rogen’s collaborator on Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Watch, among others. The Interview is about a talk show host and a producer (Rogen) who somehow find themselves involved in an attempt to assassinate the North Korean prime minister. This will be Rogen’s second time in the director’s chair. And, don’t get too excited just yet, but apparently Columbia Pictures wants James Franco to...

MSNBC's decision to hire former top Obama advisers Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod has resulted in more pearl-clutching than a Polaner All-Fruit audition, but the network's treatment of Gibbs, thus far, belies the most common criticism. While the Lean Forward network's detractors try to pose the hirings as evidence that they're "worse than Fox News," and that Gibbs and Axelrod won't be "independent" enough, Gibbs has dispelled that notion in short order by volunteering a major admission about the Obama administration's drone program, and MSNBC's anchors have responded by pressing him on it.

Former White House senior advisor David Axelrod joins a flurry of erstwhile politicos making the leap to television news punditry. Axelrod, who was a key strategist for President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, joins NBC News and MSNBC as a senior political analyst. The announcement came Tuesday from NBC News and follows last week’s news that 2012 Republican presidential aspirant Herman Cain has joined Fox News Channel. The network also recently hired former Republican Senator Scott Brown while parting ways with Dick Morris and Sarah Palin at the conclusion of her three-year contract.
