At this point, Kevin Sorbo’s starred in enough faith-based movies to earn himself a place in Heaven, assuming that’s how these things work. But that hasn’t stopped Sorbo from signing on to another project that damns all us godless creatures. Deadline reports that TV’s Hercules will star in One Nation Under God, a film from director Lisa Arnold. And like God’s Not Dead, this film will also fail to separate church and state—according to the synopsis, one magnet school’s discussion about the missing “under God” reference in the pledge of allegiance will reach the nation’s capital. Sorbo will play a presidential candidate who picks up this crusade, which will presumably become the wedge issue he rides to the White House.

Exclusive: Kevin Sorbo has been set to star in One Nation Under God, a Suretone Pictures/Film Incito co-production directed by Lisa Arnold. Sorbo starred in God’s Not Dead, and this sounds very much in the same audience wheelhouse. Arnold wrote the family drama, which centers on a magnet high school where the words “under God” have been removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. When a defiant student questions the logic, the reverberations reach the presidential race, where…...

While the industry, filmmakers and press have Sundance on the mind this weekend, new limited-release titles are making their way into theaters. The producers of that film followed up with Caged No More, and the distributor expressed interest early on. Directed and co-written by Lisa Arnold, the title will open in more than…...

Principal photography has begun on "Caged," a feature film from Check the Gate Productions and Red Entertainment Group, who also contributed to 2014's surprise faith-based hit "God's Not Dead." Based on the "Justice Trilogy" of novels by Molly Venzke, and adapted for the screen by co-producer Lisa Arnold and Venzke, "Caged" stars Loretta Devine, Kevin Sorbo, Alan Powell, Christian singer-songwriter Anthony Evans, and Cassidy Gifford, in a story that's inspired by real events, about Aggie Prejean (played by Loretta Devine), a Cajun grandmother on a desperate search to...
