- His song "Hold Your Head Up" (which he co-wrote with Chris White) was covered by former Marillion singer Fish on his album "Songs From The Mirror" (released 1993).
- Keyboardist/songwriter with the 1960s band The Zombies and later Aster Argent.
- His song "Baby Don't You Cry No More" was recorded by 'Anni-Frid Lyngstad' on her solo album "Something's Going On" (released in 1982).
- Cousin of Jim Rodford.
- I'd known Phil Collins for a while, and he came in and helped Aster Argent out on the "Counterpoints" album when our drummer Bob Henrit went down with hepatitis. We were both into a lot of the same jazzy stuff, like Chick Corea, and Phil used to play in a more experimental group, Brand X, when Genesis weren't touring or recording. I think Phil gets an incredibly bad press. He's an exceptional musician, an extraordinary drummer.
