Hulu has revealed an official trailer for one of their Black History Month offerings in February - a documentary film titled Sacred Soil: The Piney Woods School Story, about one of America's oldest historically Black boarding schools. Directed by J.J. Anderson, this film is a co-production with Andscape, which is Disney and ESPN's Black-led division. It will be out to watch on Hulu later in February. Sacred Soil: The Piney Woods School Story explores the intersection of childhood and adulthood through the eyes of young, Black high school youth from around the world as they work beyond society's imposed limitations to achieve a top-notch education at America's oldest African-American boarding school. We are only a few days away from February, which means we’re a few days away from Black History Month. Like many networks and streamers, Hulu will have an abundance of celebratory programming, but today they have provided The Playlist with an exclusive trailer of their newest documentary, “Sacred Soil: The Piney Woods School Story.” The film is the directorial feature debut of J.J. There aren’t a lot of horror and sci-fi titles hitting DVD and Blu-ray shelves on September 15th, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some fun releases to look forward to on Tuesday. Scream Factory is resurrecting another cult classic in HD—The Legacy, starring the always badass Sam Elliot—and for those of you David Duchovny fans out there, season one of Aquarius is being released by Anchor Bay this week, too.
