More than three dozen local television stations owned by Gray Media have started airing an afternoon newscast from the company’s national news service Local News Live.
The one-hour newscast features stories aggregated from Gray Media’s local newsrooms across the country and the company’s Washington, D.C. bureau. A total of 37 Gray Media stations are airing the one-hour program in the afternoons, the company said in a statement.
The show offered to local TV stations is hosted by Debra Alfarone, the anchor of Local News Live and Gray Media’s national correspondent.

Gray Media says its national news brand Local News Live will produce its own Election Night special that will be helmed by a team of four anchors and with contributions from more than 110 of its local television newsrooms.
The special will stream live through the Local News Live app for Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Election Day. It will also stream via more than 500 Gray Media-owned websites and on the Local News Live website.

Gray Media has debuted a new app focused on its Local News Live streaming channel, offering access to the around-the-clock news stream as well as local broadcasts from its TV markets.
The service started hitting app stores last week, and is now available for Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Apple TV devices along with Android and Apple phones and tablets.
The app is free, and offers news from journalists across Gray Media’s portfolio of 113 television stations and news bureaus.
