Netflix has given a green light to a movie reboot of the Stephen King novel Cujo, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Roy Lee will produce the remake of the horror story about a mother and son who fight off a rabid dog while trapped in their car. Cujo was first adapted from King’s 1981 psychological horror novel of the same name where Cujo is at first a lovable St. Bernard, but after being bitten by a bat becomes everyone’s worst enemy.
In the 1983 film Cujo, a mother, Donna (Dee Wallace), and her son, Tad (Danny Pintauro) come into contact with Cujo and must fight for their lives. King’s novels, starting with 1976’s Carrie, have long been picked up by Hollywood for movie adaptations.
These include book-to-screen adaptations of The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me, It and the sequel It Chapter Two. Other recent adaptations include Lewis Pullman...

Season 2 of The Recruit has been much better than the first. While Season 1 only had a 68% Tomatometer score, the second chapter came in strong with 91%, making it one of the best-reviewed seasons of any spy show. This is hardly surprising, considering the stakes are way higher this time. In his second outing, CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) finds himself in Seoul, where he has to help South Korea's National Intelligence Service (Nis) agent, Jang Kyun (Teo Yoo), deal with a Yakuza problem. The entire saga is linked to a cryptocurrency jointly developed by the CIA and Nis.

During an appearance at Scad TVFest, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Netflix's Stranger Things, revealed that their new show The Boroughs shares "a lot of DNA" with the juggernaut series, as well as a beloved but hard-to-find 1980s sci-fi classic.
Per Collider, the Duffer brothers revealed information about the upcoming series, which is set in a New Mexico retirement community and follows a group of misfits who discover a sinister supernatural force threatening their lives. If that premise sounds similar to the 1985 Ron Howard film Cocoon, that's not an accident, though the concepts are ultimately very different.
Ross Duffer explained that The Boroughs is based on an idea from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, who will serve as showrunners while the Duffers produce:

There’s the irresistible underdog you can’t help rooting for. Determined characters coming together to face insurmountable odds. The framework— an individual or team in pursuit of greatness — is a classic hero’s journey. But as the films below showcase, the best sports stories aren’t actually about the sport at all. They’re about relationships,...

One of the most well-reviewed Marvel shows in recent memory is probably one many fans have not watched. Sporting a 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows a 13-year-old girl named Lunella, a supergenius who accidentally brings a (very lovable) dinosaur into modern-day New York City. Together, they are a crime-fighting duo that has the rare combination of being incredibly cute but also very powerful. After being unceremoniously canceled last year, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will be ending on its own terms with the back half of Season 2.
It's been a year since the second season first premiered on Disney+, but the streamer has finally announced when fans will be able to watch the last 10 episodes of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (via The Direct). Another series they're working on is called Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, another show that again harkens back to Stranger Things. They're sticking to the supernatural genre.

One of the executive producers behind Netflix's Luke Cage breaks down the broad strokes for the series' tragically canceled third season.
In a January 25 X post, Luke Cage executive producer and Creed II scribe Cheo Hodari Coker responded to a fan post lauding the series' storytelling. "Glad y'all are finally discovering it," Coker wrote. "And what we had planned for Season 3 was even better... all Public Enemy song titles as the thematics, starting with 'Public Enemy #1' and ending with 'Rebel Without a Pause." When asked how far in the development process the third season got before the series was shelved, Coker responded, "Six episodes written, 8 outlined, 13 projected...and nope, I ain't saying sh*t."

No one has quite depicted Black Americans in all their glory, flaws, and reality like Spike Lee. The filmmaker contributed greatly to the independent movement of American films in the 1980s, and Lee’s unique vision and mise en scène won over audiences. He had his breakthrough with the social satire Do The Right Thing and has not looked back since.
Lee is currently working on his 25th film as a director and will be working with A24 on Highest 2 Lowest, an official remake of Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low. The filmmaker has an eclectic filmography even if many of his films tend to talk about one topic in particular. So, here are ten underrated Spike Lee movies.

"The Age of Adaline" — directed by Lee Toland Krieger and released in 2015 — is, put simply, a movie centered around the idea that Blake Lively is an inhumanly beautiful creature. This makes it hard to imagine that anyone else could have played Adaline Bowman, a woman unstuck in time who's incapable of aging. What you may not know, though, is that "Grey's Anatomy" veteran Katherine Heigl was originally supposed to play the titular role but ended up dropping out ... so what happened here?
Heigl, who originated the role of Dr. Izzie Stevens on the long-running ABC medical drama — and left the series partway through its 6th season — was initially cast in the film against Angela Lansbury, who was supposed to play Adaline's much older daughter, Flemming. Long before the movie came out, Heigl exited the project in 2010, according to a report in Deadline; at first, the outlet said that Heigl's departure was due to on-set strife.

Talk about taking chances! Mike McMahan, the series creator of Star Trek: Lower Decks, took a big one when he wrote the series finale, "The New Next Generation." He knew who he wanted on the show and wrote the parts without knowing whether or not the actors he had in mind were available or even if they would commit to doing the show.
McMahan appeared on Tex-Trek podcast [via CinemaBlend] and shared just how stressful things were after he'd written the script. The creator said "I was so panicked because the episode written was really complex. Every single legacy character had a story in it." McMahan went on to say that "If somebody said no or their schedule didn't work, it's not like I could just replace, you know, [Alexander Siddig] as Bashir. I would have to rewrite it. I would have lost ‘Gashir’ because I just wasn't going to do it without them.

Star Trek: Lower Decks will always have a special place in my heart for their decision to bring back the little-discussed but incredibly charming side character from Star Trek: First Contact, Lily Sloane. Lily, played by Alfre Woodard in both the film and the Lower Decks cameo, was a standout new character at the time. The film was all the rage, and it stands as the best example of filmmaking during The Next Generation era of films.
Woodard's performance in the film was part of the reason why. Essentially paired with Jean-Luc Picard for most of the film, we got to see what the universe of Star Trek is like through someone who has seen nothing but war and death for years. It made her voice carry all the more weight when she urged Picard to stop his war against The Borg and choose to live instead.

When Bill Maher was a young stand-up comic, he wasn’t looking to get into sitcoms. “But when I started,” he told Dana Carvey and David Spade on the latest Fly on the Wall podcast, “the template was, well, you get on The Tonight Show, you do your little six minutes, little monkey goes out there and makes people laugh. Good clean material. And then you get a sitcom like Robin Williams did and Roseanne and Freddie Prince and Tim Allen.”
Spoiler alert: Maher did not turn into Robin Williams or Roseanne. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t get his opportunities. He told Carvey and Spade about his shots at sitcom stardom that fizzled shortly after liftoff.
