Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was frustrated after she talked to Chance (Conner Floyd) about her accident. She thought Chance had clouded views on Sharon (Sharon Case) because of their past relationship. Chance just doesn’t see Sharon as a killer, much like Nick (Joshua Morrow).

Of course, Sharon and Phyllis have a violent past. They’ve long been rivals over Nick’s affection, and at times, they’ve gotten physical. Phyllis also has a history of taking things into her own hands. Most recently, she faked her own death and ended up killing Jeremy Stark (James Hyde).

In light of the news that All My Children is potentially being rebooted as a holiday movie on Lifetime, SoapHub reached out to a few of your favorite Passions alums to see their thoughts about the potential to bring their show back.

History

Passions debuted on NBC on July 5, 1999, and was the brainchild of James E. Reilly, who had previously written for Days of our Lives. Known for its unique mix of supernatural elements and traditional soap opera drama, Passions centered around the residents of Harmony, a fictional New England town. Storylines featured family rivalries, forbidden romances, and other soap staples, but it was the supernatural twists that set Passions apart. Characters like the witch Tabitha Lennox and her doll-turned-son Timmy added an eccentric flair, captivating audiences with spells, curses, and strange occurrences.

“People ask me, where are all the great exploitation movies today? The low-budget horror films? They’re on the Lifetime Network!” Shudder’s horror host Joe Bob Briggs once said, and he’s not entirely wrong about that. There’s plenty of entertainment value to be found in Lifetime’s particular brand of thriller, and a new year brings along with it a brand new slate.

Deadline reports on Lifetime’s Quarter 1: 2024 slate of original thrillers this afternoon, which promises fourteen brand new thrillers premiering here in the early months of the year.

Dying For Fame (January 4 at 8pm Et/Pt). Starring Dylan Raine, Amelie Anstett. A career-driven tabloid reporter Anna (Raine) is assigned to write a profile about popular influencer Juliet (Anstett). During their time together, Anna discovers that many of Juliet’s fans aren’t real.

Lmn has released its first quarter movie slate that features fourteen new thrillers, including the premiere of the 35th film in the network’s prolific Wrong Movie franchise.

The Wrong Life Coach will premiere on January 11, and is executive produced by Vivica A. Fox, who stars alongside Eric Roberts, Tracy Nelson, Michael Paré, Jackée Harry, Morgan Bradley and Allison McAtee. Roberts, Paré, Harry and Nelson also star in the Valentine’s themed Tall Dark and Dangerous, set for February 8th, with Matthew Pohlkamp and Vanderpump Rules‘ Tom Sandoval.

Hulu is once again decking the halls. The streaming service has acquired two new movies, “A Christmas Frequency” and “Reporting for Christmas,” produced by Nicely Entertainment, coming this holiday season. Both are set to premiere Nov. 1.

“A Christmas Frequency” stars Denise Richards as a morning radio show host, who is struggling in both her personal life — secretly separating from her husband (James Hyde) — and at work, with the ratings of her show dropping. When she’s set up on a series of blind dates as a way to save the show, things get interesting with one man (Jonathan Stoddard) is both a man she’s actually interested in and someone who has also applied to be her date.

Denise Richards is set to star as a radio host looking for a date to the company Christmas party in holiday movie “A Christmas Frequency,” Variety can reveal.

Veteran director Lindsay Hartley (“The Romeo and Juliet Murders”) will helm the project, which is being produced by Nicely Entertainment.

Ansley Gordon (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), who wrote the screenplay for “A Christmas Frequency,” will also star in the movie alongside Johnathan Stoddard (“Furry Little Christmas”) and James Hyde (“The Young and the Restless”).

In the film, which is already in production, Richards stars as morning radio show host Brooke Walkins, who is not only secretly separating from her husband Todd (Hyde) but haemorrhaging ratings on her show. James Hyde kept the peace in Harmony as lawman Sam Bennett on the supernatural soap opera Passions for nearly a decade. Now, he’s been tapped to play Jeremy Stark, a mystery man from Diane Jenkins’s (Susan Walters) past on The Young and the Restless. Hyde is set to make his Y&r debut on Friday, October 21 but it’ll be a quick visit – for now. Watch for Hyde to return to the show in the near future. How did your joining Y&R come about? James Hyde: This is partially manifestation. I haven’t been on a soap set since Passions ended. I remember thinking that if I ever came back to daytime, I wanted it to be with Y&r.

“Dutch” is dreadful. It’s a shambling, rambling recycling of clichés and conventions from ’70s Blaxploitation fare mixed with stilted murder-trial melodrama and half-baked morsels of sociopolitical topicality. Golden Globes winner Jacqueline Bisset (Dancing on the Edge) has joined the cast of Birds of Paradise from Amazon Studios and Anonymous Content. Sarah Adina Smith wrote and is directing the film, which is based on the novel, Bright Burning Stars, by A.K. Small. The pic, starring Kristine Froseth and Diana Silvers, is set at a prestigious ballet school in Paris, where the new girl (Silvers) befriends a grieving dance prodigy (Froseth) as the dancers compete for the school’s ultimate prize: to receive a contract to join the Parisian Opera’s ballet company. As the pressure mounts and the girls are pushed to their physical and emotional limits, their bond is tested and they’re forced to ask themselves just how far they are willing to go to win. As Passions fans are well aware, NBC cancelled the supernatural soap back in January and it will leave the network on September 7, 2007. Luckily for some, the serial will resume on DirecTV's The 101 channel beginning September 17th. To cut costs, the series will air only four days a week and some characters will be dropped as well. Will your favorites survive the move?
