Audiences of all ages adore cozy mysteries.
Within the genre, Hallmark mysteries have reigned supreme for years.
The question is which Hallmark mystery movie franchises are the best.
The best cozies contain idyllic settings, well-established characters, and elements of romance and humor. They also need staying power, which is why the multi-movie series are usually the most popular.
With those points in mind, here's how several of them compare.

Jesse Metcalfe plays Jeff Jackson, a medically retired police detective living in the picturesque setting of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. He solves crimes with the help of a doctor and medical examiner, played by Sarah Lind.
This is one of the worst Hallmark mystery franchises in terms of believability. Characters repeatedly get away with things real-life doctors and cops could not do, such as freely sharing confidential information with multiple other characters.

Canada, the home of winter, looks to have no shortage of snowy inns set against fairytale-like landscapes with piles and piles of the white, fluffy stuff.
That’s because Hallmark, long a major producer of Christmas TV movies, shoots a lot of holiday flicks in Canada, even if the plotlines are set south of the border. So do a lot of other U.S. producers for whom British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario offer real snow, iconic mountains and other varied wintry locations to keep American producers in furry parkas coming north with their cameras and Hollywood stars.
In fact, there’s more to budget-friendly production tricks than fake snow on these TV movie shoots, as humble Canada stands in small-town America strung with colorful lights. “The only impression that they’re having me convey is an acknowledgment of there being questions about… when it comes to the circumstances of how this went, if… oh god, how do I put this?” Henry starts. “It’s, like, really rough to convey.”
“There’s this placement of responsibility,” he continues. “One person was involved in the other person passing. The exact symbol is kind of a reference to another reading I gave, where, unfortunately, a man contributed to his passing and his wife’s passing, and it’s kind of that type of a feeling. Almost six months after I originally taped my episode of Gsn’s trivia bowl The Chase, I can now divulge what’s crossed my mind at least once a day since that dank August afternoon: I won $38,000 and sneered like Tallulah Bankhead‘s spoiled barista nephew as I did it! It was a thrilling day of questions, answers, nervous energy, and salty badinage. (The show’s resident trivia god Mark Labbett — a.k.a. The Beast — and I exchanged a few quips during the game). Precisely what I wanted out of my game show experience. You’ll be able to catch reruns on Gsn for quite awhile.
It’s been a long time coming, my game show debut. Ever since I was a toddler watching reruns of Split Second, Name That Tune, and Tic Tac Dough on the USA Network, I’ve wanted to be a game show contestant. Competitive people like to show off,...

You might think an actor's career is on the fritz when they agree to star in a film like "Titanic 2", a straight-to-video feature that this time has a tsunami hurling an iceberg in the ship's path.
But Brooke Burns, a former "Baywatch" star and the lead actress in that film, admitted recently that there are other reasons actors take those less than flattering roles.
On HuffPost Live, Burns said that the main reason she signed up for "Titanic 2" was to pay for earthquake insurance.
"I worked for two days and paid for my mortgage for a couple of months and earthquake insurance for my house," Burns said, laughing. "But people don't know that. They just look at that and think, 'Oh my God, your career is failing!"
Burns said "there are a few things that you can find online that now looking back I'm like, 'hmm, that was interesting'." But,...

Based on the UK show, The Chase is not set to premiere until August 6, but today Gsn said it has ordered another eight episodes for Season 2 to air later this year. Production begins next month. The network announced an eight-episode first-season order for the quiz competition in May during the upfronts. The one-hour show, in which three contestants battle against an all-knowing opponent named The Beast, is produced by ITV Studios America. Brooke Burns is host. “The high stakes of this ‘all or nothing,’ ‘David vs. Goliath’ battle of the brains result in riveting television,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Evp Programming and Development at Gsn. “While there is great gameplay in The Chase, it is also wildly entertaining to watch the always engaging Brooke Burns spar with trivia savant Mark Labbett aka The Beast”. Bob Boden, Martin Scott and Michael Kelpie are executive producers.

Are you familiar with the British quiz show called The Chase? Well, this speedy knowledge fest is about to become more familiar. Gsn has picked up an American incarnation of the game show to also be called The Chase and Brooke Burns has been chosen as host. Burns is a former Baywatch babe. The blue-eyed beauty acted as Vanessa Mancini on Melrose Place and has hosted programs like Dog Eat Dog and You Deserve It. You may also recognize Burns from the Nickelback music video for “Trying Not To Love You”.
The Chase puts a team of four contestants up against the show’s “resident genius” and is very fast paced. In the British version, Bradley Walsh served as host and the game show ran for 6 seasons. The UK’s resident geniuses numbered 4 throughout the seasons and they were a collection of winners from various other quiz shows. This leads...

It may be the ultimate "Lifetime movie," generated by two actresses who certainly know the playing field.
Infidelity, seduction and vengeance are hugely familiar ingredients of the cable channel's films, and they all factor into "A Sister's Revenge," premiering Saturday (April 27). Former "Baywatch" co-star Brooke Burns plays said sister, a smart schemer mourning her late sibling, who had an eventually unhappy romance with a novice restaurateur (Tim Rozon).
Determined to even the score, she targets the man, insinuating her way into the life of his new-mom wife (Ashley Jones, also an executive producer of the picture) as one element of her evil plan. A secret recording of an intimate encounter and an unexpectedly lethal pitcher of drinks also let you know you are, indeed, watching a "Lifetime movie." Brooke Burns is no stranger to the water, but she had little interest in making a current "Splash."
A staple of cable movies in recent years -- encompassing her role as the sinister sibling in Lifetime's "A Sister's Revenge," which debuts Saturday, April 27 -- the "Baywatch" veteran confirms she was approached about competing in ABC's Tuesday diving contest, which features fellow "Baywatch" alum Nicole Eggert, as well as on Fox's January special "Stars in Danger: The High Dive."
Burns' decision not to take part in either show wasn't overly surprising, since a 2005 diving accident left her with a broken neck. She has recovered, with significant help from a surgically installed titanium plate and rod, but other residual effects remain with her.

There are many emotions that can be immediately elicited by the phrase “A Hallmark Channel Original Movie.” I’d reckon that most of them are along the lines of “dread” and “foreboding” and “a desire to change the channel.” Yet the Hallmark Channel keeps on cranking out more of these less-than-lustrous gems to clutter the airwaves and the discount DVD bins at your local supermarket. Their audience exists and clearly has an appetite for what they do, though why, I cannot begin to fathom.
From the title, Undercover Bridesmaid sounds like it could be a Disney movie starring Hilary Duff circa 2001; yet this film aired in 2012 and stars an adult woman, Brooke Burns, in the title role. Burns plays Tanya, a bitter and jilted bride who despite a successful career in private security can’t seem to stop throwing darts at images of the man who left her at the altar.

Premium Rush is a strange anomaly when it comes to bicycle movies, because it deals with the reality of urban cycling: every journey involves zipping between objects massive enough to immediately kill you, and the constant risk of slamming your spine awkwardly on the side of a skip because someone opened their car door unexpectedly. Traditionally, however, bikes on film tend to represent innocence and freedom. While his future lay in dystopian sci-fi and Russell Crowe grunting at things, Ridley Scott's first ever short Boy And Bicycle was concerned with nothing more than showing a young Tony Scott contemplatively pedalling around west Hartlepool and Seaton Carew when he should have been at school.
