After years of watching Michael Gambon and Richard Harris as the iconic Albus Dumbledore in the J.K Rowling Harry Potter film franchise, John Lithgow is now all set to take up the baton for the series. The Emmy-winning actor recently appeared on Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett’s SmartLess podcast, and talked about his excitement to get cast as Dumbledore. While it’s a huge responsibility to live up to Gambon and Harris’s legacy, Lithgow isn’t scared at all.

Bradley Cooper’s latest directorial venture is stirring up more than just cinematic buzz, it’s causing a real-life drama in a quiet Queens neighborhood. While it must be remembered that film crews in Douglaston are nothing new, this particular production is proving to be an uninvited guest that locals just can’t wait to see wrap up and roll out.

Will Arnett’s new animated superhero comedy, Super Team Canada, is set to premiere on May 16 on the Canadian streaming service Crave. The show arrives at a time when tensions between the U.S. and Canada are rising due to a trade conflict.

The series follows six Canadian superheroes as they try to save the world from giant evil robots, a jobless octopus, and an overly clingy hardware store clerk. The characters are not the most famous heroes, but when the world’s more well-known protectors are trapped or defeated, this unlikely group must step up.

Arnett voices Breakaway, a former minor league hockey player who fights crime using his skates, hockey stick, and special pucks. Will Arnett’s animated comedy Super Team Canada is set to bow May 16 on Canadian streamer Crave, just in time to ride a surge in Canadian nationalism amid an escalating cross-border tariffs war with the United States.

The series about six Canadian superheroes saving the world from giant evil robots has an all-Canadian cast that includes Cobie Smulders voicing the role of Niagara Falls, Kevin McDonald as the Canadian prime minister and Charles Demers as Poutine, a French Canadian crime fighter.

The Russo Brothers are now synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they helmed several successful films, including 2019's Avengers: Endgame, and the upcoming two superhero team-up films. However, the duo started their career directing several sitcoms, including Arrested Development and Community.

In a new feature interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote their upcoming Netflix film, The Electric State, the duo also looked back at the beginning of their careers. While they now make millions helming superhero movies, their start in the industry wasn't as easy. Their first project was an FX pilot called Lucky, which aired for one season and led to them working on Arrested Development. During the new interview, the duo revealed which character was the most difficult to cast in the popular sitcom.

"It was Gob," Joe Russo revealed, referring to Will Arnett's character, George Oscar Bluth II aka Gob, the eldest Bluth child.

Murder mystery has long been one of the most successful genres on TV, with Only Murders In the Building delivering a great comedy spin on the formula. A new vigilante is roaming the streets of Gotham City and his name is Bateman. Jason Bateman has joined the DC Universe in a new star-studded ad for State Farm that sees the actor taking on some of Batman's most notorious villains.

The ad campaign, titled Batman vs. Bateman, aims to highlight that having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm, just like Bateman fighting crime in Gotham isn't the same as having Batman doing it. The 60-second version of the extended cut ad shown below was originally supposed to air as a Super Bowl spot. However, due to the Los Angeles wildfires, State Farm decided to postpone the ad campaign until March Madness. Jason Bateman said Matt Damon was such a huge fan of Arrested Development that he wanted to be cast in the movie. Bateman said that's a long shot now, asserting that the project has been shelved indefinitely.

Jason Bateman was blunt when asked about the Arrested Development movie. "I don't think anybody gives a s***," he told Conan O'Brien, asserting that it will never be greenlit. "I think it's done." Bateman's update is disappointing to fans hoping for the adaptation since the 2019 series finale. He confirmed the movie would have double down on the meta commentary. "The story of the Arrested Development movie would be that in the show, [where] Hollywood wanted to make a movie about [the Bluth family], and we certainly couldn't play ourselves, because we're not actors," he teased.

Bateman said during a recent appearance on the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast, which you can see in the below video, that Matt Damon was interested in the project at one point. The only downside? Now, nobody “gives a shit” about bringing the film to the screen.

“Arrested Development” series ran from 2003 to 2006 on Fox and was later revived by Netflix for two additional seasons between 2013 and 2019. In the series, Bateman played Michael Bluth, who is tasked with running his eccentric family’s real estate empire after his father (Jeffrey Tambor) is arrested. The Emmy-winning actor/producer/director made a recent appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, where he revealed that Damon once pitched himself for a cameo in a potential film adaptation of the hit sitcom.

“I remember Matt Damon coming up to me at — I think it was like a Golden Globes or something — and I was so excited to meet him and, and he was a huge fan of Arrested Development,” Bateman recalled of the interaction. “And he was saying, ‘You know, I really think I could play, because I hear you guys are doing the movie, I think I could… can I play you?'”

Peacock and Sony have announced that Season 2 of Twisted Metal will premiere this Summer. Season 2 of the live-action adaptation of the beloved vehicular combat series on PlayStation will finally focus on the demolition derby tournament that the video game franchise is known for.

Born in Israel and raised in Los Angeles, Emmy Award-winning producer Reiss began his career at United Talent Agency in 1998 and joined Artists First in 2015.

He recently produced the 20th Century Studios feature Quiz Lady starring Awkwafina, Will Ferrell, and Sandra Oh which won the Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie.

He also executive produced Comedy Central’s hit show Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens and produced the hit feature film Like a Boss starring Tiffany Haddish, Rose Byrne, and Salma Hayek. Reiss additionally executive-produced the Netflix drama series Hit and Run from the creators of Fauda, Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, along with Netflix animated comedy series Hoops with partners Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Since transitioning into management and production, Reiss has also worked on a number of hit comedy shows and specials.

Bradley Cooper is teasing his first film where he’ll be directly operating a camera.

The actor/director, who has previously directed features “A Star is Born” and “Maestro,” will appear in, direct, produce, and serve as B camera operator for meta Hollywood comedy “Is This Thing On?” He also cowrote the revised script with Will Arnett, who is the lead actor in the feature.

Laura Dern will costar. Emily Blunt was originally set to be cast as well, but it’s unclear if she is still part of the Searchlight-produced film.

The project was announced in 2023, but Cooper has finally shared more details, including his work as B camera operator on the film, which aligns with his famously hands-on approach to filmmaking.
