John Lithgow is preparing to play Albus Dumbledore in the new Harry Potter TV series. The actor recently told Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett on the Smartless podcast that he’s “halfway through the second” novel right now as he’s “behind everybody” when it comes to knowledge of the Harry Potter franchise. That said, Lithgow doesn’t think the job will be “that hard.“
“The overall concept of this entire reboot of Harry Potter is an entire season is devoted to a single novel,” Lithgow said. “You know, Dumbledore is — he’s kind of the nuclear weapon. He only goes on very, very occasionally. I don’t think it’s gonna be that hard a job, and, we’ll just go back and forth.“

Arnett voices Breakaway, a former minor league hockey player who fights crime using his skates, hockey stick, and special pucks. Other cast members include Cobie Smulders as Niagara Falls, Kevin McDonald as the Canadian prime minister, and Charles Demers as Poutine, a French Canadian crime fighter.

The Russo Brothers are now synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they helmed several successful films, including 2019's Avengers: Endgame, and the upcoming two superhero team-up films. However, the duo started their career directing several sitcoms, including Arrested Development and Community.
In a new feature interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote their upcoming Netflix film, The Electric State, the duo also looked back at the beginning of their careers. While they now make millions helming superhero movies, their start in the industry wasn't as easy. Their first project was an FX pilot called Lucky, which aired for one season and led to them working on Arrested Development. During the new interview, the duo revealed which character was the most difficult to cast in the popular sitcom.
"It was Gob," Joe Russo revealed, referring to Will Arnett's character, George Oscar Bluth II aka Gob, the eldest Bluth child.

Murder mystery has long been one of the most successful genres on TV, with Only Murders In the Building delivering a great comedy spin on the formula. Combining humor and whodunit, the series makes for an entertaining mystery show, but it's far from the only game in town. For decades, comedy and crime have gone together brilliantly, with classics like Police Squad being a great example. Seeing a humorous take on a murder mystery can be particularly fun.
Murder mysteries and bumbling detective go hand-in-hand, with Only Murders in the Building being the best, but not only example. Although some of these shows take more of a long-term procedural or sitcom format, others have enjoyed success in a shorter, narrative-driven approach. There's a rich variety of comedic murder mysteries to choose from, and some are closer to the appeal of Hulu's iconic show than others.

State Farm has never disappointed when it comes to making unique advertisements. Well, this time, too, they have outdone themselves and even Zack Snyder’s Dceu with their Batman vs. Bateman commercial. Starring actor Jason Bateman as Bateman, the commercial also features some of the DC world’s most iconic villains, making it a whole lot more memorable.

Initially slated to air during the Super Bowl, the commercial is remarkable for several reasons. But one thing that really stands out is how good the Clown Prince of Gotham looks in the commercial, he is even better than the one Snyder gave us in the Dceu.

A new vigilante is roaming the streets of Gotham City and his name is Bateman. Jason Bateman has joined the DC Universe in a new star-studded ad for State Farm that sees the actor taking on some of Batman's most notorious villains.
The ad campaign, titled Batman vs. Bateman, aims to highlight that having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm, just like Bateman fighting crime in Gotham isn't the same as having Batman doing it. The 60-second version of the extended cut ad shown below was originally supposed to air as a Super Bowl spot. However, due to the Los Angeles wildfires, State Farm decided to postpone the ad campaign until March Madness. Besides Bateman, the ad features several recognizable faces, including artist Sza as Catwoman, streamer Kai Cenat as a Gotham City citizen, and content creator Jordan Howlett as Commissioner Gordon. BoJack Horseman is a surreal, dark comedy that follows BoJack (Will Arnett), a washed-up actor living with a substance-use disorder. The series primarily focuses on BoJack's efforts to revive his career, and has a darkly comedic tone throughout. What sets this Netflix series apart is how it explores difficult themes with these characters who are deeply flawed yet charming in their own way.

Jason Bateman said Matt Damon was such a huge fan of Arrested Development that he wanted to be cast in the movie. Bateman said that's a long shot now, asserting that the project has been shelved indefinitely.
Jason Bateman was blunt when asked about the Arrested Development movie. "I don't think anybody gives a s***," he told Conan O'Brien, asserting that it will never be greenlit. "I think it's done." Bateman's update is disappointing to fans hoping for the adaptation since the 2019 series finale. He confirmed the movie would have double down on the meta commentary. "The story of the Arrested Development movie would be that in the show, [where] Hollywood wanted to make a movie about [the Bluth family], and we certainly couldn't play ourselves, because we're not actors," he teased.

Matt Damon would love to be in a potential Arrested Development movie, should it ever move forward. Jason Bateman, who played Michael Bluth on the hilarious show, recently said he was at an award show when Damon pitched himself to appear in a film version. The twist? Damon wanted to play Bluth in a movie-within-the-movie.
While appearing on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast (via Deadline), Bateman made the revelation:
"I remember Matt Damon coming up to me at — I think it was like the Golden Globes or something — and I was so excited to meet him, and he was a huge fan of 'Arrested Development. And he was saying, 'You know, I really think I could play, because I hear you guys are doing the movie, I think I could—can I play you?'"

Jason Bateman remembers the “Arrested Development” film that almost came to be. Bateman said during a recent appearance on the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast, which you can see in the below video, that Matt Damon was interested in the project at one point. The only downside? Now, nobody “gives a shit” about bringing the film to the screen.
“Arrested Development” series ran from 2003 to 2006 on Fox and was later revived by Netflix for two additional seasons between 2013 and 2019. In the series, Bateman played Michael Bluth, who is tasked with running his eccentric family’s real estate empire after his father (Jeffrey Tambor) is arrested. Michael Cera played Bateman’s onscreen son, with Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, and Tony Hale as his siblings. Late actress Jessica Walter iconically played the boozy family matriarch Lucille. David Cross, Alia Shawkat, Henry Winkler, and Liza Minnelli co-starred.

Matt Damon was ready to step into the role of Michael Bluth in an Arrested Development movie, per Jason Bateman.
The Emmy-winning actor/producer/director made a recent appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, where he revealed that Damon once pitched himself for a cameo in a potential film adaptation of the hit sitcom.
“I remember Matt Damon coming up to me at — I think it was like a Golden Globes or something — and I was so excited to meet him and, and he was a huge fan of Arrested Development,” Bateman recalled of the interaction. “And he was saying, ‘You know, I really think I could play, because I hear you guys are doing the movie, I think I could… can I play you?'”
Arrested Development, created by Mitchell Hurwitz, centers on level-headed son Michael Bluth who takes over family affairs after his father is imprisoned.

Ron Howard was five years old when he made his film acting debut in Anatole Litvak's 1959 Hungarian Revolution drama "The Journey." A year later, the red-headed scamp got cast as Opie Taylor, the son of Mayberry, North Carolina sheriff Andy Taylor in "The Andy Griffith Show," which had the effect of turning him into America's kid brother. Television viewers watched Howard grow up throughout the 1960s, so they felt as though they had a touch of skin in the game when he played recent high-school graduate Steve Bolander in George Lucas' "American Graffiti." Then he landed the role of Richie Cunningham in the ABC sitcom "Happy Days," at which point he seemed like family. Everyone wanted Howard to excel.
If, however, everyone was being honest with themselves, it was hard to see Howard's acting career lasting much longer than "Happy Days." He possessed limited range and couldn't seem to shake his pipsqueak persona.

Several "Arrested Development" actors have become quite successful after the show ended. Folks like Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, and David Cross have appeared in a great many roles to various degrees of success. Jessica Walter further established herself as a bona fide comedy legend on "Archer" before her tragic death in 2021. The person who narrated the show -- some guy called Ron Howard -- has apparently done Ok for himself too, all things considered.
Portia de Rossi, on the other hand, is an exception to the rule. Despite her obvious talent and charisma, the reliably hilarious actress who played the important "Arrested Development" main character Lindsay Bluth-Fünke isn't what you'd call a household Hollywood name these days. In fact, after the show's fifth and final season ended in 2019, she really hasn't done all that much ... when it comes to acting, at least. So, why...

We finally have a date for when Twisted Metal season 2 is coming, and the first teaser gives a hint of the madness to come!
We’re in a new age of video game adaptations and, surprisingly, many of them are good. We’ve had Fallout become a Prime Video hit with other successful movies (let’s just ignore Borderlands). Among them is Twisted Metal.
The Peacock series adapts the cult video game series about a dark future demolition derby/racing contest. Season 1 dropped as a ten-episode binge on July 27, 2023. It got a renewal, and fans are eagerly awaiting it.
We finally have a window for it, as Peacock has released the first teaser promising to amp up the action for this new season!

John, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth are back, baby! And if the new teaser trailer for Season 2 of Peacock's hit video game adaptation, Twisted Metal, is any indication, we're in for an explosive good time once the series rolls our way in Summer 2025. Because, guess what? It's tournament time, and John Doe and co. are going to have to take down every driver in their way if they want to make it out alive.
No doubt riding high after the release of the new Captain America: Brave New World, Anthony Mackie returns alongside co-stars Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church to find a new villain on the scene. That's right, fan favorite Calypso is joining the fold, and he's going to be played by none other than Anthony Carrigan, whom some of you may know for his standout work as NoHo Hank on the HBO dark comedy Barry.

Monster-in-Law, Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda's rom-com from 2005, is a streaming hit on Hulu, where it currently sits at number five on the streamer. The film follows Charlie (Lopez) who falls for a doctor named Kevin (Michael Vartan). After a period of dating, the couple become engaged, but that's when things take a turn for the worst. Kevin's mother, Viola (Fonda), will stop at nothing to do whatever she can to break the relationship up before they get married.
The film was a box office hit when it debuted on May 13, 2005, making over $155 million at the worldwide box office on a production budget of only $43 million. Monster-in-Law was also good counter-programming to Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, which opened later that month. When the TV series based on the popular video game franchise Twisted Metal made its premiere on the Peacock streaming service back in July of 2023, it quickly became one of Peacock’s top five original series, racking up 400 million viewing minutes in its first weekend and earning the honor of being the streamer’s “most-binged” premiere. Now, season 2 is speeding toward a summer 2025 premiere, and showrunner has promised that Twisted Metal season 2 is “even bigger than the first one.” You can get a preview of the new batch of episodes by checking out the newly unveiled teaser trailer, embedded above!

The first reviews for Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World place the film as one of the lowest-rated movies in MCU history, but another of his projects that was mostly well-received by critics and adored by audiences just got a thrilling new update. Peacock has officially released the first teaser and teaser art for Twisted Metal Season 2, which is coming to the streamer this summer. The first season of Twisted Metal premiered at the end of July in 2023, so it’s fair to assume that Season 2 will likely debut on the platform around the same time. Both Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz are set to reprise their roles as John Doe and Quiet, with Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett also returning as Sweet Tooth and Anthony Carrigan joining the cast as Calypso.
