Nicolas Cage is continuing to expand his wild filmography by dipping his toes into the western genre. But, it wouldn't be a Nic Cage movie without the actor either delivering one of the most groundbreaking, emotional performances of his life, or one of the most bonkers caricatures you've ever seen. For his new, wild western, Gunslingers, Cage has characteristically chosen the latter.

The first trailer for Gunslingers has now been unleashed, and it's safe to say that Cage is a certified scene-stealer once again. The film is written and directed by Brian Skiba (Guns of Redemption) and is set to be released on April 11. Alongside Cage, Gunslingers also stars Heather Graham, Stephen Dorff, and Scarlet Rose Stallone. Cage plays mad genius Ben, who is guided to a town named Redemption to confront their violent histories. The official synopsis reads:

Nicolas Cage is unleashing his meme-able rage as a gun-toting “mad genius” for his latest Western, “Gunslingers.”

Cage, who previously starred in fellow genre films “The Old Way” and “Butcher’s Crossing,” plays Ben, an unhinged reformed outlaw who has a spiritual awakening on the road of revenge. Stephen Dorff and Heather Graham also star in “Gunslingers,” along with Scarlet Stallone, Costas Mandylor, Tzi Ma, and Randall Batinkoff.

The official synopsis reads: “Reformed gunslinger Thomas Keller (Dorff) and mad genius Ben (Cage) are guided by spiritual leader Jericho (Mandylor) as they strive for vindication. While confronting their violent history, a brutal bar fight and deadly feud reignites between Thomas, Ben, and the notorious Five Points Gang. Charles Shyer, the writer/director behind films like Private Benjamin, Father of The Bride (1991), and Father of the Bride Part II (1995) has died at the age of 83. Per Deadline, no cause of death was revealed.

The Meyers-Shyer family did provide a statement to Deadline about Shyer’s death that read: “It’s with an indescribably heavy heart that we share the news of our beloved father, Charles Shyer’s passing. His loss leaves an unfillable hole in our lives, but his legacy lives on through his children and the five decades of wonderful work he’s left behind. We honor the extraordinary life he led and know there will never be another quite like him.”

Shyer earned an Oscar nomination in 1981 for writing on 1980’s Private Benjamin, which starred Goldie Hawn, an honor he shared with Nancy Meyers and Harvey Miller.

Charles Shyer, the writer and director behind some of the most memorable comedies of their eras, has passed away at the age of 83.

Charles Shyer’s first film credit – after penning episodes of The Odd Couple and Happy Days – came with 1977’s Smokey and the Bandit, lending to what would become a fast-paced, quip-filled comedy that would be one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Shyer would garner more industry attention with the following year’s House Calls, sharing a WGA nomination.

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence is bringing back the medical comedy 15 years later after the show ended with a notoriously disliked final season. Despite having the opportunity to retcon that ninth season in different ways, Lawrence says the upcoming reboot will honor the controversial events of Seasn 9, which mainly focused on a new set of characters (in a new location) — something that wasn't fully embraced by Scrubs fans. While Season 9 did see most of the original stars return in guest roles, Donald Faison and John C. McGinley were the only two to return in recurring roles. That was obviously a bold choice (given the popularity of the show's original cast)... and it didn't pay off: Scrubs was canceled following its ninth season.

Medical sitcom Scrubs is set to be rebooted, creator Bill Lawrence is onboard and the majority of the original cast are in talks to return.

Bill Lawrence is one of the busiest men in television. Shrinking has been a huge hit on Apple TV and has been renewed for a third season. Ted Lasso, which he created with Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, is edging ever closer to a fourth season. On top of all that, according to Deadline a reboot of his hit medical comedy Scrubs, which ran for nine seasons between 2001 and 2010, is in development at ABC in America.

A return to Sacred Heart Hospital is getting closer to reality! A reboot of Scrubs has long been rumored with fans stoked about a potential return of the medical sitcom, but it has all been talk...until now. ABC is in early development on the project after securing the involvement of the man who made the show a definitive series of its era.

Per Variety, ABC is officially in early development on the Scrubs reboot after striking a deal with series creator Bill Lawrence. The executive producer is already under an exclusive deal with Warner Bros. TV which consists of four series, so Scrubs had to be worked into that deal, which finally worked out after weeks of negotiations. This will allow Lawrence to work on the reboot for 20th TV and ABC, but the deal does not include him being the series' showrunner, which will be found as the show continues its development.

Boogie Nights takes place in the world of adult entertainment. Paul Thomas Anderson's 1997 classic stars Mark Wahlberg as Dirk Diggler, a California native who became a well-known adult film actor in the San Fernando Valley during the '70s. Recognizable actors portray most characters, but several real-life adult film stars make cameos in small roles. Before Boogie Nights, Mark Wahlberg had already established an impressive resume in the entertainment industry, but this movie made him a star.

Boogie Nights transformed Wahlberg into a mainstream movie star, thanks in large part to his tragicomic lead performance and a climactic scene that literally exposes the film's lead character, Dirk Diggler. However, what many P.T. Anderson fans remember is that this film is full of character actors who would go on to appear in several of the director's movies over the next two decades, some in lead roles and others always working as brilliant supporting actors.

Age is just a number! But if we’re being honest, sometimes that ‘number’ feels more like a math problem—hard to wrap your head around. Heather Graham, who, at 54 has absolutely shattered any notion of what age is supposed to look like. We mean, seriously, we’re over here wondering if we accidentally stepped into a time machine.

While there aren’t any movies quite like Coralie Fergeat’s “The Substance,” there are plenty of over-the-top horror films about transformation, incredibly weird science, shared identities and losing your damn mind, like the 1981 cult movie “Possession,” pretty much every David Cronenberg movie, as well as offerings from Ken Russell, Peter Strickland, Julia Ducournau and Ari Aster.

Expect screaming, exploding heads, lots of blood and some of the most insane endings ever.

Isabelle Adjani has the mother of all freakouts in a subway in this role that earned her a César for Best Actress (the French equivalent of the Oscars) and Best Actress at the Cannes Film Fest that year, but that’s not even the most mind-blowing part of the movie form Polish director Andrzej Żuławski. She’s also cheating on her husband (Sam Neill) with something that isn’t really human.

A Scrubs revival could be headed our way, and recent comments made by series star Zach Braff will only fuel our optimism for its arrival. Braff, who starred in the medical comedy for its entire 9-season run, recently discussed the likelihood of a follow-up and the obstacle standing in the way of the show's development. Scrubs, which follows the lives of employees at (fictional) Scared Heart Hospital, is centered around Braff's J.D., a young doctor embarking on his medical career. While promoting a Garden State concert in honor of the indie film's 20th anniversary, Braff told Variety:

"['Scrubs' creator] Bill Lawrence is going press every other week because he's got so many hit shows, so if you look at his statements, they get more and more definitive. I'm not speaking out of school when I say it's a business thing. He's got a Warner Bros. deal but 'Scrubs' is a Disney show.

We spoke with comedic actor Thomas Lennon amid the release of Chosen Family, his new movie from writer-director Heather Graham who also leads the cast. Lennon steals his scenes as Matt, the hilarious but supportive friend of Ann (Graham), a single yoga instructor trying in vain to connect with her new boyfriend's devilish seven-year-old daughter. It's the latest laugh-out-loud project in a long line of similarly comedic ones from Lennon, whom Comedy Central fans might remember best from the acclaimed mockumentary series, Reno 911! And it sounds like another reunion between its beloved cast is not exactly out of the question down the line.

In Chosen Family, yoga teacher Ann cannot escape her manic family, miserable dating life, and inability to say no, leaving her constantly trying to fix everyone else's problems. Things start looking up, however, when her friends set her up with a divorced dad who has an adorable 7-year-old daughter.

Heather Graham recalls stepping out of her comfort zone to take on her role in 1997’s Boogie Nights.

The actress, who plays Rollergirl in Paul Thomas Anderson’s porn-industry drama, recently said on the Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum podcast that she initially avoided projects involving sexual content.

“I grew up in a religious family, and they were like, ‘Don’t do anything with any sexual content,'” Graham explained. “But try to be a woman in Hollywood in your early 20s, mid-20s, and then to try to get no roles with any sexual content — it’s like impossible.”

The Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me star ultimately decided to go against her family’s wishes and not limit her opportunities in Hollywood.

“I had turned down a few things where there was sexual content, and then I saw other people, having really good careers,” she recalled.

We spoke to celebrated actress Julia Stiles leading up to the release of Chosen Family, her new romantic comedy from writer-director and co-star Heather Graham. It's a funny and sweet look at modern-day struggles like finding love while juggling work alongside an overbearing family. Stiles told us how she was inspired by Graham's direction (and sought advice from a surprising action director) for her own upcoming directorial debut, Wish You Were Here, a film adaptation of the novel by Rene Carlino. We spoke to Heather Graham upon the release of her directorial project Chosen Family, a comedy film she wrote and also stars in. You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family. That's how the adage always went, at least until we started to expand our definition of family. Yes, the notion of a chosen clan is ever-growing in popularity, and it's being explored on the big screen in a variety of ways. There are darker explorations like the Jesse Eisenberg film Manodrome from earlier this year, and now, on a much lighter note, there's the quite obviously titled Chosen Family, a passion project from the always charming Heather Graham.

The last time we spoke to Graham, she was playing a gritty Western character trying to protect her daughter (in the film Place of Bones). This time around, her character Ann is trying in vain to connect with someone else's daughter, giving Chosen Family an uncomfortable comedic end result that might give certain millennials and Gen X'ers Ptsd based on their own past family woes.
