Warner and Jon Voight as Petrovich, a Soviet who claims to have spied on Reagan for years. It released theatrically in the U.S. on August 30 by ShowBiz Direct, with Lionsgate handling ancillary. The Oscars will honor the best movie of the year this Sunday, but the infamous Razzie Awards have crowned the “worst” of 2024’s films.
Sony’s much-derided superhero film “Madame Web” has the (dis)honor of winning three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson and screenplay. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry,” led with seven nominations and took home screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.
Francis Ford Coppola won for directing his big-budget epic “Megalopolis,” and star Jon Voight won supporting actor for the film — shared with his turns in “Reagan,” “Shadow Land” and “Strangers.” Coppola’s “Megalopolis” received six nominations, which was tied for second-most nods with “Madame Web,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan.”
The famed filmmaker responded to his Razzies on Instagram, saying “box office is only about money, and like war, stupidity and politics has no true place in our future.

Francis Ford Coppola "won" Worst Director at the Razzie Awards for his ambitious, self-financed epic Megalopolis. And he actually accepted the "honor," letting the Razzies and Hollywood know what he thinks about them in an unfiltered social media post. "I am thrilled to accept the Razzie Award," he stated, "when so few have the courage to go against the prevailing trends of contemporary moviemaking!"
Coppola, a five-time Oscar winner, continued, "In this wreck of a world today, where Art is given scores as if it were professional wrestling, I chose to Not follow the gutless rules laid down by an industry so terrified of risk that despite the enormous pool of young talent at its disposal, may not create pictures that will be relevant and alive 50 years from now." He said it was an honor to "stand alongside a great and courageous filmmaker like Jacques Tati who impoverished himself completely...

The 45th Razzie Awards results are in. Sony’s Madame Web is the clear winner/loser of this year’s dragging of cinematic mediocrity with three wins, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson, and Worst Screenplay. The Razzie results arrive two days before Oscar Sunday when films that some consider the best of the best have their chance to shine.
Madame Web taking the top prize is unsurprising given the movie’s abysmal quality. It was my worst film of 2024 and a Golden Schmoe nominee for worst movie of 2024, only to be beaten by Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie a Deux. Dakota Johnson hardly tried to defend the film during its PR tour, saying she “probably will never make anything like it again.” To be fair, she enjoyed working with her castmates, who, despite circumstances, gave Madame Web the old college try, but the film turned into something...

The Academy Awards take place on Sunday evening and, as has become the tradition, the full list of "winners" from the 2025 Razzie Awards has just been unveiled.
Madame Web took three wins for "Worst Picture," "Worst Screenplay," and an arguably well-deserved "Worst Actress" for lead star Dakota Johnson. It wasn't the only comic book adaptation to walk away with a prize, though, as Joker: Folie à Deux nabbed "Worst Sequel" and "Worst Screen Combo" for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
The vast majority of celebrities and filmmakers ignore the Razzies, while few interviewers have the nerve - and understandably so - to ask celebrities about their "wins."
However, Francis Ford Coppola, who earned "Worst Director" for his critically panned Megalopolis, issued a scathing retort on social media today.
"I am thrilled to accept the Razzie award in so many important categories for Megalopolis, and for the distinctive honor of being nominated as the worst director,...

The winners have just been announced for this year's Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the "Razzies." They include a big "win" garnered for Francis Ford Coppola, but the famed director had a good sense of humor about the acknowledgment.
Per THR, the full list of Razzie winners was unveiled on Friday, just ahead of this year's Academy Awards ceremony. The annual nominations acknowledge the "worst" movies, filmmakers, and performances from the prior year, and there was no shortage of comic book adaptations up for big honors this year. However, when it came to Worst Director, Francis Ford Coppola got the win for his polarizing, big-budget feature Megalopolis. Taking to Instagram, Coppola commented on the revelation, noting how he nevertheless remains proud of the film, along with himself for taking some risks outside the standard Hollywood movie formula.

Finn being Luna’s dad is the latest paternity storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful. The soap opera loves a good paternity drama and there’s been many shocking scandals throughout the years. Here’s a look at some of the most memorable DNA storylines.
My Daughter, My Sister
In 1992, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was pregnant, but uncertain if Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) or Eric (John McCook) was the baby’s father. Brooke gave birth to a daughter, and a DNA test proved that Ridge was the father. The couple named their daughter Bridget (Ashley Jones), a combination of both their names. However, unbeknownst to everyone, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) tampered with the test results. It wasn’t until several years later that the switcheroo was discovered. A new test was performed, this time confirming that Eric was the father, and Ridge was Bridget’s half-brother.

The 45th Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) will be held on March 1, 2025, to recognize the worst films of 2024. The nominees were originally set to be announced on January 16, but due to wildfires in Southern California, the announcement was delayed several times, eventually being revealed on January 21.
The nominees were chosen by 1,202 members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation, including movie fans, critics, and journalists. This year, many comic book adaptations received nominations, such as ‘The Crow,’ ‘Madame Web,’ ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ and ‘Kraven the Hunter.’
Several well-known actors, including Ariana DeBose, Cate Blanchett, and Joaquin Phoenix, were also mentioned, with Jon Voight getting a nod for his roles in four films. 2024 was really bad for superhero adaptations considering that the movies received eighteen nominations overall.

There are few awards shows more mean-spirited than the Razzie Awards, which each year join the awards season circus to ridicule the previous year’s most notable flops. 2024 gave the Razzies plenty of punching bags, as Joker: Folie a Deux, Megalopolis, and Madame Web were among the nominees for Worst Picture.
The other films rounding out the five Worst Picture nominees were video game adaptation Borderlands and Dennis Quaid vanity project/biopic Reagan. All five movies were also well-represented in additional categories including Worst Actor, Worst Actress and Worst Screen Combo.

As this year's awards season gets underway, Hollywood prepares to celebrate the very best - and worst - that 2024 had to offer.
The Academy Award nominations were recently delayed due to the California wildfires, but we do have the nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards, and several superhero/comic book-based movies were "honored" in a number of categories.
Not too surprisingly, Warner Bros.' Joker sequel picked up the most nominations, with stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga up for Worst Actor, Todd Phillips for Worst Director, and more. Sony Pictures' Madame Web was a close second with noms in six categories, tied with Megalopolis and Reagan.
Lionsgate's ill-fated The Crow reboot picked up two.
Nominees were chosen were via emailed ballots to 1,202 Razzie members from 49 States and about two dozen foreign countries who chose five top contenders in each of nine categories.

The Razzie Awards spread the “wealth” this year, with five movies receiving a leading six nominations apiece, including in the unfortunate Worst Picture race: Borderlands, Joker: Folie à Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis, and Reagan. Meanwhile, Unfrosted received four bids, while The Crow nabbed two.
“At the dawn of a dark era, the 45th Razzies remain ready to pounce,” declared the organization, which announced its bids one day after the inauguration of the 47th president and two days before the 2025 Oscars nominations. Fun fact: the ultimate “winners” of these categories will take home a “$4.97 gold spray-painted statuette.”
Oscar winners nominated for Golden Raspberries this year include Joaquin Pheonix (Joker: Folie à Deux), Cate Blanchett (Borderlands), Lady Gaga (Joker: Folie à Deux), Ariana DeBose (Argylle and Kraven the Hunter), and Jon Voight.

This year’s Academy Award nominations are set to be announced Thursday, after being delayed due to the devastating Los Angeles fires. As such, the annual Golden Raspberry Awards got to get ahead of the Oscars on Tuesday with their own crop of nominees, highlighting what its members believe to be the worst in film for 2024. “Joker: Folie à Deux” leads the field with seven nominations, while “Madame Web,” “Megalopolis,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan” are close behind with six nods apiece.
For “Joker: Folie à Deux,” the musical sequel to Todd Phillips’ Oscar-nominated DC Comics crime film “Joker,” landed nods in worst picture, director, screenplay and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel. All the stars are here! It’s that magical time of year when the biggest bombs in Hollywood gather to celebrate mediocrity at the Razzie Awards! This year’s presentation of The Golden Razzies finds multiple flops joining hands in the battle to escape accolades as the worst movies and performances of the year, including Joker: Folie a Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis, Borderlands, and Reagan.
Borderlands, Megalopolis, Madame Web, Joker: Folie a Deux, and Reagan earned six nominations apiece, forming a Megazord of misguided executions on the silver screen. It was a tad uninspired, but at least they didn’t try to remake the original full-stop. Who’s with me? Bueller? Bueller? Oh, well.

It’s that time of year again, when Hollywood celebrates the year’s best motion pictures and performances and such. It’s also when the Razzie Awards turns all that on its ear.
In the running for Worst Picture at the 45th Golden Raspberry Awards — watch a video about them above — are vidgame adaptation Borderlands, musical sequel Joker: Folie à Deux, Marvel’s Madame Web, Freancis Ford Coppola’s passion project Megalopolis and presidential biopic Reagan.
Not coincidentally, all five are tied with six Razzie noms apiece. Those films’ helmers also are up for the Director “prize,” except for Reagan‘s Sean McNamara; Jerry Seinfeld took that fifth slot for his Pop Tarts comedy Unfrosted. The erstwhile sitcom king also is up for Worst Actor.

Borderlands, Madame Web, Megalopolis and Reagan followed with six noms apiece, it was announced Tuesday. Unfrosted landed with four noms, while The Crow nabbed two noms.
Among the actors receiving mentions were Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, Lady Gaga and Jon Voight, one of President Donald Trump’s newly appointed “Ambassadors to Hollywood,” who was nominated for his performances in a “near record” four films in one year.
Organizers joked that the worst picture nominees will compete for a “$4.97 gold spray-painted” statuette and shared their thoughts on each of the films in contention (see below).

Dennis Quaid's Reagan just reached an important milestone at the box office. Hoping to tell the true story of President Ronald Reagan's life, the movies explores his life from his childhood and through his later years. Alongside leading man Quaid, Penelope Ann Miller also starred as Nancy Reagan. Despite a high audience score on Rotten Tomatoes that saw a 98% total, Reagan has proven divisive for critics, having settled with a 17% Tomatometer score.

Based on Paul Kengor's book The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism, Reagan begins with the assassination attempt on President Reagan's life in 1981 and then delves into the multifaceted man. Forget about the ongoing divide between Democrats and Republicans, because Reagans wildly divergent Rotten Tomatoes scores reflect two completely different opinions when it comes to the new biopic. If one were to believe the critics, director Sean McNamaras Ronald Reagan movie isnt worth watching, and, as a result, registers only 18% on the Tomatometer. Conversely, audiences are in love with the Dennis Quaid-led film about the United States 40th President. Thus, the Rt Popcornmeter reflects a nearly perfect score of 98%. First, the bad news: la the disappointment with the flick. MovieWeb's own Greg Archer says:
"It opts to shine a flattering light on the man, capturing him as some kind of glorified soul, somebody who came from humble beginnings and managed to get a break in Hollywood then enter politics and emerge as the man who helped thwart communism and The Cold War in the 1980s. Its the kind of...

For the longest time, Dennis Quaid, whose film career spans nearly 50 years, has considered one film experience as his favorite. In a recent MovieWeb interview, the star of the upcoming Reagan biopic said that his role as astronaut Gordon Cooper in 1983s The Right Stuff always took the No. 1 spot in his heart. Until now.
Quaid plays President Ronald Reagan in his new biopic, which is mostly set in the 1980s. He said playing Reagan made him ponder his experience in 1983s The Right Stuff, which initially gave him a different measure for ranking his movies. The experience I had making [films] is very big for me, because Id watch a movie and I remember what I was doing on that day. Reagan has dominated a horde of other new releases during a slow summer weekend at the domestic box office. The new movie, directed by Sean McNamara, is a biopic of former President Ronald Reagan starring Dennis Quaid in the title role. The Reagan release came during the final weekend of August, at the same time as several similar non-tentpole new releases including the Blumhouse AI horror movie Afraid, the L.A. riots thriller 1992, and the Casey Affleck sci-fi movie Slingshot.
Per Deadline, as of Saturday morning, projections for the domestic box office show the overall grosses turning out one of the summer's slower weekends in spite of the 4-day Labor Day holiday. The holdover hit Deadpool & Wolverine is continuing to reign supreme, taking the No. 1 spot for the fifth non-consecutive time with a projected 4-day total between $19 and $20 million. Reagan is a film with a definitive vibe. It recalls some of the movies that emerged from the faith-based Angel Studios, such as Sound of Hope, Sound of Freedom, and Sight. These films have a certain point or issue to convey and rarely feel as if they were brought to life organically. A plot exists, but it seems outshined by the producers and writers who want you to get something. Think: eighth-grade history film.
Reagan doesnt suffer as much as some of those movies, but the point is clear: Director Sean McNamaras biopic on Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, is not going to go in-depth or really explore the inner workings of Reagan nor some of the things he was most criticized for. Instead, it opts to shine a flattering light on the man, capturing him as some kind of glorified soul, somebody who came from...

Dennis Quaid's new movie, Reagan, has critics and audiences very divided. Directed by Sean McNamara, with a script written by Howard Klausner based on Paul Kengor's book, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism, the film follows the life of Ronald Reagan from his childhood to his time as president of the United States, told through a conversation between two former Kgb agents. Quaid stars as Reagan alongside Penelope Ann Miller, Robert Davi, Lesley-Anne Down, and Jon Voight in supporting roles.

ShowBiz Direct's new biopic Reagan offers a closer look at the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of the 40th President of the United States. The film hits theaters on Friday, August 30 and is told from the perspective of Kba agent, Viktor Petrovich, whose life becomes entwined with Reagan after the Hollywood actor attracts Soviet attention. Directed by Sean McNamara, Reagan stars Dennis Quaid, Jon Voight, Penelope Ann Miller, Mena Suvari, Lesley-Anne Down, David Henrie, Kevin Dillon, and Amanda Righetti.

Sean McNamara’s biopic Reagan moves well beyond hero worship, as it paints the 40th U.S. president as a saint among men. The film opens with Ronald Reagan (Dennis Quaid) quoting his mother via voiceover—“Everything, even seemingly random twists of fate, is all a part of the divine plan”—just as it cuts to a vision of John Hinckley Jr.’s 1981 attempted assassination of the president. The mix of slow-mo re-enactment and archival footage is the first of many bizarre, unintentionally funny moments in a film that’s determined not only to position Reagan as the great man of the second half of the 20th century, but as a man ordained by God to defeat the colossal, religion- and freedom-hating villain of our times: communism.
In an especially strange decision, the story of Reagan’s life is told from the perspective of a fictionalized Kgb agent, Victor Novikov...

Star of the new movie Reagan, Dennis Quaid, appears to be setting up Facebook to blame if his new biopic about the late president fails to be a hit in theaters. Quaid claims that the social media site is "censoring the free flow of ideas" by not allowing an ad for Reagan to be monetarily boosted, thus causing it to have less of an impact on moviegoers who might have otherwise been inclined to check out the film had they seen the promo on Facebook. Quaid portrays the 40th president in the new film, which is slated for release in a couple of weeks on August 30.

“Told through the voice of ‘Viktor Petrovich’, a former ‘Kgb’ agent whose life becomes inextricably linked with Ronald Reagan’s when Reagan first caught the ‘Soviet’ attention as an actor in Hollywood, this film offers a perspective as unique as it is captivating.
“A story that transcends the boundaries of a traditional biopic, offering a profound exploration of the enduring impact of the power of one man who overcame the odds, sustained by the love of a woman who supported him in his journey…”

Here are five recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.
Pool Party Massacre
Summer is well underway, and if you’ve already exhausted all the seasonal classics, Pool Party Massacre can fill the void with a comedic send-up to ’80s slashers like Slumber Party Massacre and Sleepaway Camp (both also on Screambox). Written and directed by Drew Marvick, the 2017 low-budget indie embraces the era with 80 minutes of over-the-top characters, campy performances, and cheesy practical effects.
The titular party isn’t very festive; it’s more like a small gathering of vapid, Real Housewives rejects that barely tolerate one another while lounging by the pool. One by one, a character excuses themselves — including, in one instance,...

Legendary Hollywood men typically stick to specific archetypes when playing the romantic lead in their films. Where Humphrey Bogart was often coarse and cynical with a heart of gold, Cary Grant tended to be debonair and sharp-witted with a mischievous streak. At the peak of his movie stardom, Harrison Ford had a touch of both those gents. He was a cocky scoundrel who bore his skepticism like a shield yet would allow himself to be unguarded and even sweet in the right company. Ford was also just as foxy donning a fedora as he was rocking the adorkable getup of a mild-mannered professor.
After breaking out as the suave cosmic reprobate Han Solo in "Star Wars: A New Hope," Ford co-starred in Jeremy Paul Kagan's 1977 Vietnam War veteran drama, "Heroes" (a film he worked on prior to "A New Hope" reaching theaters), and Guy Hamilton's 1978 "Guns of Navarone" sequel,...

Here's every Pierce Brosnan Horror Movie, ranked worst to best. Brosnan starred his career with small roles in shows like Hammer's House Of Horrors or The Long Good Friday in the early '80s, with one of his earliest breakthroughs being the TV series Remington Steele. Ironically, this show nearly stole his biggest break, when Brosnan was almost cast as James Bond in 1987's The Living Daylights.
Brosnan would have replaced Roger Moore, who had played 007 for seven movies. At the time, it appeared Remington Steele was going to be canceled, allowing Brosnan to take the part, but at the last moment it was renewed and the role went to Timothy Dalton. Of course, Brosnan eventually got his chance with 1995's GoldenEye. Outside of Bond, Brosnan has plenty of other successes, including The Thomas Crown Affair and Dante's Peak.
