Spoiler Alert: This story includes details from the finale of Prime Target on Apple.
One of the highlights of Apple’s Prime Target has been the welcome addition of Martha Plimpton as Jane Torres, an Nsa queen who heads of a group of spies who surveil mathematicians all over the globe. Her portrayal of the villainous figure who ends up double-crossing her young charge so she can get her hooks into Leo Woodall’s Edward Brooks has made the twisty series a little less preposterous and a lot more fun.
Here, the veteran actress last seen in The Regime and forever missed as Patty Nyholm on The Good Wife talks about the drama’s finale, what viewers should expect will happen to Jane, and why she thinks the show has resonated so much with viewers.
Deadline: Martha, were you the token American in this British production from New Regency and Scott Free Productions?...

What was Matthew Perry’s last heartbreaking text to Lone Skye? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Ione Skye’s latest memoir, ’Say Everything,’ unveils an unexpected and brief romance with the late Matthew Perry which began long after they first crossed paths as young actors.
Their introduction dates back to 1986 on the set of ‘A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon,’ a coming-of-age film where both were still Hollywood newcomers. For Perry, it was his very first movie and for Skye, it was just her second.

It seems a bit premature, but we wanted to have a place where we could begin tracking upcoming Netflix Originals expected to be hitting our screens in 2026. This is an extension to our 2025 movie and TV schedule, which we’ll continue to keep updated throughout 2025.
Important note: Given how far out we are from 2026, everything on this list is highly subject to change. We’ll keep it updated throughout 2025 and into 2026 with the latest confirmations of releases. As of right now, for most titles listed below, we’ve made assumptions based on filming schedules and/or if they’ve been excluded from the 2025 schedule. Of course, Netflix’s development slate is certainly much bigger than what this list implies, with likely well over 1,000 projects that have been announced or titles being worked on behind the scenes, although many will not see the light of day.

The following contains spoilers for Prime Target Season 1, Episode 6, "The Last Link," now streaming on Apple TV+.
Up until now, Prime Target has kept it low-key, more concerned with ancient equations than action or adventure. With Season 1, Episode 6, “The Last Link,“ that is all about to change. Time is ticking, with every agency in hot pursuit as the intrepid duo tries to leave Paris. With an irate Nsa tracking their every move and allies thin on the ground, it is make-or-break time when it comes down to finding that final puzzle piece. Right now, Edward might be an important mathematical asset, but he is also a liability likely to land them both in hot water.
With the revelations from Season 1, Episode 5, still ringing in their ears, The Last Link morphs into a different show. Assassins in hot pursuit, clandestine cyber-crimes done on the fly, and home truths shared in times of crisis.

Quick LinksWhat Is 'Raising Hope' About? Why 'Raising Hope' Is Worth Watching
Everyone loves a good family sitcom, right? A feel-good premise, likable characters, and strong humor to balance it all out. Arguably, the biggest family comedy on TV today is Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. That makes sense, as it's set in the immensely popular Big Bang Theory-universe. But if you're looking for a more underrated family comedy to binge, put this early 2010s Fox sitcom on your radar.
Raising Hope ran for four seasons on Fox from 2010 to 2014. It followed a young, single father trying his best to raise his baby daughter with the help of his family. The Chance family was your average lower middle class bunch just trying their best to get by in day-to-day life. Are they the most stable group of characters? Well, not exactly. But they do love each other,...

Hey you guuuuyysssss! There have been several Goonies reunions over the years, which seemed to amp once Ke Huy Quan was hitting the awards circuit with Everything Everywhere All at Once, which eventually won him the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. But we just got one of the most complete ever, as Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, and screenwriter Chris Columbus gathered to celebrate Ke Huy Quan getting his hands and feet imprinted outside of the famed Tcl Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. No word on if he set any booby traps.
Ke Huy Quan has had a mid-career resurgence like no other Goonie, and the support he continues to receive – especially through reunions like this – shows a level of loyalty that feels almost unmatched in the world of Hollywood. While Brolin (Brandon Walsh), Feldman (Mouth), Cohen (Chunk), and Green (Andy) all turned out for Quan, the absences...

A teenage Josh Brolin quickly got humbled by Steven Spielberg while filming 1985’s The Goonies.
The actor, who’s now 56, recently looked back at his early acting days on a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Literally! With Rob Lowe, including his starring role as Brand Walsh in the beloved film, directed by Richard Donner.
“I think Goonies was quite an accident,” Brolin recalled. “I went in there, I’ve been told, they pulled the Brolin thing, ‘Are you [James] Brolin’s kid? You want to be an actor, huh?’ So instead of that nepotistic thing, they looked at me and were like, ‘Oh yeah? So act.'”
The Avengers star set out to prove himself as a serious actor, putting his head down in the books and hoping to learn as much as possible.
“I studied,” he said. “I got [Konstantin] Stanislavski books, [Jerzy] Grotowski…and Antonin Artaud and the Theatre of Cruelty.

The Apple TV+ thriller Prime Target plunges viewers into a world that's equal parts academic and dramatic. Its protagonist is mathematics prodigy Edward Brooks, who finds himself thrust into the kind of global conspiracy that TV audiences love. But the antisocial Edward must rely on government agent Taylah Sanders to help him unravel said conspiracy and stay alive, as she has skills that he doesn't -- including knowing how to deal with the rest of the world.
It sounds like a series that could be very complicated, but stars Leo Woodall (who plays Edward) and Quintessa Swindell (who portrays Taylah) explain how much audiences actually need to know to watch Prime Target. They also talk about how much they knew about the story going into the filming experience. Plus, what would they consider the highlights of the show?

With the success of Slow Horses and The Agency, we’ve seen a large influx of espionage shows coming to TV. Prime Target, from producer Ridley Scott and creator Steve Thompson, hopes to capture the same magic as each of those shows. With two young stars, Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell, the series could easily become another breakout hit for Apple TV+. Unfortunately, overuse of technical exposition and frustratingly detached characters turn Prime Target into a slog.

Prime Target examines mathematical discovery and worldwide consequences through mathematician Edward Brooks’s work with prime number sequences – research that threatens current digital security systems.
The story connects Brooks to scientists like Oppenheimer, showing how groundbreaking research can lead to devastating outcomes. His mathematical work represents both pure theoretical exploration and a threat to global stability, reflecting contemporary fears about technological vulnerabilities.
The series combines abstract mathematical concepts with international chase sequences. The philosophical elements clash with action scenes, making the tone inconsistent. Though merging higher mathematics with dramatic action shows creative intent, common thriller elements take precedence over nuanced storytelling.
Unlikable Geniuses, Shifting Loyalties, and the Characters That Shape Prime Target

People say maths is boring, but the latest Apple TV+ thriller really goes out of its way to convince you otherwise. That's probably why Prime Target puts Leo Woodall front and centre for a start: you can't really go wrong with the man who made us swoon in One Day and gasp in The White Lotus. It also helps that his character, Edward, soon develops feelings for a cute bartender played by Hawkeye star Fra Fee, abs and all. Then there's Leo's co-lead, Quintessa Swindell, whose arrival in Episode 2 brings extra charisma, as a secret agent who's out of their depth, but still trying their best. Yet even with all that going for it, something's not quite adding up…
We're told that, "Math nerds are probably the most dangerous people on the planet," but this line, like many others throughout the show, feels forced and even clunky.

There’s not much I remember about high-school calculus, more than two decades since my last class. But one thing I do recall being taught over and over was the importance of showing the math. How you built your case and demonstrated your logic was just as important, we were told, as whether you got to the right answer.
The new conspiracy thriller Prime Target gets to the right answer, I suppose, in that it looks expensive (there’s that Apple TV+ money), serves up basically competent if unmemorable action and raises worthwhile if not exactly novel debates. But it does not show the math, serving two-dimensional pawns instead of three-dimensional characters and lofty-sounding speeches instead of nuanced dialogue — and, as a result, fails to add up to much at all.
Its protagonist, Ed (Leo Woodall), is a Cambridge postgrad on the verge of creating a theorem to find prime numbers.

After many years of rumors and false starts, The Goonies' long-awaited sequel may finally be on a positive development track. Richard Donner's 1985 classic saw a group of kids uncover the treasure map of a long-lost pirate captain, setting them on a quest to find it while avoiding the grip of a ruthless crime family. The Goonies cast featured Sean Austin, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Ke Huy Quan, Jeff Cohen, Martha Plimpton, and Kerri Green as the titular group of young adventurers.
As Deadline reported on the shifting strategies of Warner Bros. for the 2025 calendar, the outlet reported that the studio seeks to fall back once more on several proven franchises alongside its filmmaker-driven projects. One such project was a new Goonies sequel, with Chris Columbus set to return and pen a treatment, having written the screenplay for the 1985 movie. Dust off the doubloons and turn off all the lights because a report from Deadline reveals that not only has "The Goonies" (one of the best kids movies ever made) received treatment for a sequel, but family filmmaking legend Chris Columbus is also working on a third "Gremlins" movie.
Look, we know, okay? We're also scared of turning up our excitement levels a single jot when it comes to these two nostalgic nuggets, given the history of both franchises trying to squeeze out one more story for the past few decades. You wouldn't think that math would make a very compelling premise for a show, but after watching the newly released trailer for Apple TV+'s new thriller Prime Target, you'll be hooked and ready to find the answers along with Leo Woodall's Edward Brooks.
The math thriller starring The White Lotus and One Day actor isn't the most high-profile new release coming to Apple TV+ this month. In the Prime Target trailer, Leo Woodall plays a Newton-ridiculing, mathlete determined to find a pattern in prime numbers.
