- DirectorAng LeeStarsJake GyllenhaalHeath LedgerMichelle WilliamsTwo shepherds fall for each other, but their relationship becomes complicated when they both get married to their respective girlfriends.I rated this 10 of 10. It's so sad but so well made and it tells a story that was so very true particularly in the 60s and 70s when it was set. Unfortunately it's still all too representative of many places today.
- DirectorBill SherwoodStarsJohn BolgerRichard GanoungSteve BuscemiAs Michael and Robert, a gay couple in New York, prepare for Robert's departure for a two-year work assignment in Africa, Michael must face Robert's true motives for leaving while dealing with their circle of eccentric friends, including Nick, who is living with AIDS.10 of 10 - I saw this when it first came out. Saw it again recently and it's still so true and evocative of that era in New York City.
- DirectorThomas BezuchaStarsArye GrossEric SchweigTim DeKayA thirty-something gay guy, Henry Hart, returns to his childhood Montana home to confront his unrequited passion for his high school best friend.10 of 10 - This was a really sweet film. I need to see it again.
- DirectorMarek KanievskaStarsRupert EverettColin FirthMichael JennBased on the life of the young Guy Burgess, who would become better known as one of the Cambridge Spies.10 of 10 - This was an amazing film. Rupert Everett was gorgeous in this, not to mention Carey Elwes as his young lover Harcourt. Colin Firth does a great job as Tommy Judd as well.
- DirectorHettie MacdonaldStarsGlen BerryLinda HenryScott NealJamie is a shy teenager, often bullied at school. His neighbour Ste has a rough time at home, being beaten by his father and brother. This issues bring them together and they find that what they feel for each other is more than friendship.10 of 10 - This is a must watch for the story AND the musical score. Two lads on a council estate. Closeted, sportive Ste has an abusive family whilst Jamie's working mom is clearly supportive of her unathletic (probably gay) son.
- DirectorJim SharmanStarsTim CurrySusan SarandonBarry BostwickA newly-engaged couple have a breakdown in an isolated area and must seek shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-n-Furter.10 of 10 - I've seen this dozens of times (at least I'm not as addicted as some folks) It's an enjoyable film to watch on one's own but SO MUCH more when experienced with an avid audience.
- DirectorLab Ky MoStarsGlenn MulhernBrendan MackeySteven BerkoffTwo Irish lads stumble through London's gay scene.9 of 10 - Saw this at the London LGBTQ Film Festival when it first premiered. It's very funny and it certainly evokes London.
- DirectorC. Jay CoxStarsWes RamseySteve SandvossMary Kay PlaceA promiscuous gay party animal falls for a young Mormon missionary, leading to crisis, cliché, and catastrophe.10 of 10 This is a great story and Steve Sandavos is adorable as the Mormon missionary who "goes astray". This is a fun film.
- DirectorsOlivier DucastelJacques MartineauStarsGilbert MelkiValeria Bruni TedeschiSabrina SeyvecouFor summer vacation, Marc (Melki) and Béatrix (Tedeschi) take their two kids to the seaside house of Marc's youth, where their daughter takes up with a biker and their sons roams the beach with his best friend, who is in love with him. Things get steamier when Béatrix's lover Mathieu shows up, and Marc's old flame appears.9 of 10 A Gay summer film set France with a Bollywood ending? What's not to like? Sweet film.
- DirectorSimon ShoreStarsBen SilverstoneBrad GortonCharlotte BrittainA tenderly romantic coming-of-age story as two boys in a British school fall in love.10 of 10 Such a great film about coming out as gay while in high school. The plight of both boys was just so relatable.
- DirectorStephen FrearsStarsSaeed JaffreyRoshan SethDaniel Day-LewisAn ambitious Pakistani Briton and his white boyfriend strive for success and hope when they open a glamorous laundromat.9 of 10 A bit of a historic piece now but this film was amazing for its time. I really need to see it again to refresh my memories.
- DirectorPaul BogartStarsAnne BancroftMatthew BroderickHarvey FiersteinArnold is a gay man working as drag queen in 1971 NYC. He meets a handsome bisexual man.
- DirectorJames IvoryStarsJames WilbyRupert GravesHugh GrantTwo English school chums find themselves falling in love at Cambridge. To regain his place in society, Clive gives up Maurice and marries. While staying with Clive and his wife, Maurice discovers romance in the arms of the gamekeeper Alec.9 of 10 I'd probably rate this a 10 if I saw it again. Rupert Graves is just adorable. James Wilby went on to other projects but I still think that was his best work. ANd what's not to love about Hugh Grant?

- DirectorAndrew LitvackStarsDianne WiestJane BirkinStanislas MerharA hot young phone sex addict and his narcissistic opera diva mom. A dangerously agitated hustler and a half-dozen dangerously agitated hustlers who look just like him. A tittering neurotic who thinks she's Vanessa Redgrave and Vanessa Redgrave herself. Pot brownies, puke jokes, a gay dad, a flying lesbian, Jerry Hall, a dead body and a fetish for Brian DePalma movies! Anchoring the mayhem is Elisabeth Beaumont, an American opera star visiting Paris to perform "Turandot" and dabble in some belated mothering of her 23 year-old son Thomas. Thomas doesn't need mothering; he needs some good hot manhandling. And, in the best DePalma tradition, the quest for sex leads to voyeurism and voyeurism, leads to murder. From there, it's just a short path to therapy. Unfortunately, the psychiatrist that Thomas visits is a little on the dead side herself, and a nutty patient has taken her place.
