After finding out that North American people are visiting the Spanish villages, the citizens of Villar del Río start preparing themselves to welcome them when they arrive.

Carlos Alonso and Mercedes Cebrián are parents of fifteen children of different ages. They all live with the grandfather and depend exclusively on Carlos work (moonlighting rigger) as the sole breadwinner, which puts them in constant financial trouble. They also have the generous support of Juan the godfather, baker by profession. Through various events, we are told of everyday family life: a regular and full-time day of the clan; First communion of two sons; finals of nine of them; holiday on the Costa Dorada (Tarragona), propitious time for the romance of various members of the clan; the loss of Chencho, the baby of the family, in the Plaza Mayor of Madrid and its subsequent recovery. The arrival of their first television serves to announce the arrival of a new child.

Over the years, the life of the disproportionate family of Carlos Alonso has undergone several changes: the birth of little María, the sixteenth child, coincided with the death of the mother, who left behind her an irreparable gap. The grandfather has also died. The pastry godfather has been married, and the boys have been growing rapidly.

Three criminals from Madrid meet a former partner who plans to commit a robbery at a jewelry store. The attempt is a failure.

Galindo works in a bank. One day he convinces the other employees in the bank to plan a hold-up in the bank they are working. They prepare everything carefully. However, real robbers come just before the fake ones.

Snack Bar "La Oficina" (The Office), managed by psychological mute Smith and his wife Pruden, is the meeting point for the local con-men (the "los ladrones" of the title). They get together to slightly plan their moves while focusing on social life. Don Anselmo thinks he is the unofficial leader of the band, although he is more the leader they do not have--except when El Escabeche tries to get the rank. Other con-men include Arsenio, who is supposed to deal in antiques; Reme; unfriendly El Carteras or Durán, who is or pretends to be blind; Histrionic chief of police Comisario García is usually too inept to stop the con-men plan... but the con-men are equally inept. This comedy features Spanish humor with all of the usual cast of "españoladas", and those usuals who are not in the main cast... get to the guest appearances.

A community of nuns in charge of an asylum for orphan girls decides to get motorized. They buy the vehicle and Sister Tomasa will have to drive it. She will soon be known around Madrid as Sor Citroen.

Rodolfo and Petrita live in separate quarters in dilapidated Madrid, and each is looking for a little apartment ("pisito" in Spanish dialect), but their low salaries keep them in their old hovels. Rodolfo's co-workers start encouraging him to marry the frail old Doña Martina, the main tenant in his apartment building; according to Spanish rent-control law, he could inherit the lease from his spouse. Thus begin his misgivings and Petrita's.

Jaume Canivell, Catalan manufacturer of mechanical porters, accompanies his lover on a hunt to relate to important people. The farm where it is organized is full of strange characters.

Second installment of the saga of the Leguineche's preceded by "The National Shotgun" and completed by "National III". After the death of Franco (1975) and the restoration of the monarchy, the Marquis of Leguineche returns to his palace in Madrid. After thirty years of voluntary exile in his farm in Los Tejadillos, he intends to approach the King to resume the court life of yesteryear. However, it is not so easy to access to the Royal Family.

Miguel's military service causes a problem. His young brother Pipo lives with him and isn't willing to leave his side. His tribulations are complicated when Pipo appears during training. He must find Pipo other accommodations.

Two clever scoundrels somehow manage to live quite well without working--by using thousands of tricks, fakes, and schemes. But they gradually change their attitudes, and their devious ways, when true love finally arrives and takes over their hearts.

Three different stories whose central axis are radio listeners: several contestants have to get to a radio station studio dressed as Eskimo, a thief answering a call in the house which is stealing and a school teacher who participates in a contest to get money to cure a child of his village. The stories are linked by the love story of a speaker and his fiancée and through interviews of real celebrities from the time of film.
