Moreover, conflict and suspense in the story reflect certain issues in romantic partnerships in real life.

The three of them thus try to approach LUI CHUN and his wife's family, the Sheungs, in different directions by starting with CHUNG-KEI who joins the bank to work his way up. While KONG-SANG seeks to wreck the engagement between HO-YIU and friend KOO TIN-NOK (Sammy Leung), LAU HANG tries to alienate SHEUNG HO-SAU (Elena Kong) from her husband, KO MAN-KIN (Eddie Kwan). - This story about assassins takes place in a fanciful world. Kiu Sing opens a cafe as a decoy and hires a single mother called Chin Heung-sin (Ali Lee). He also has a crush on Lam Sum-sum (Samantha Ko), who is a temple keeper with a mysterious background. Yim Mo and Kiu Sing are forced to engage each other in a duel as Assassin Hunter shows up.
- Because of a fatal shooting case, plain-clothes Sergeant Ko Lik-kei (Him Law) runs into a "dull" and "troublesome" witness called Lee Ho-fan (Willie Wai). Lik-kei is instructed to protect Ho-fan at all times. Initially, the duo are strangers that cannot stand each other. They then gradually get along. Meanwhile, an apparel company of which Ho-fan is a major shareholder is found to have involved in illicit dealings. Yip Cheung-lok (Lau Kong) and his son Yip Ming-kwan (Tsui Wing), who are member of senior management, are associated with these activities. Lik-kei teams up with Ho-fan and Ho-fan's younger sister Lee Chung-ying (Kelly Cheung), who is a barrister by profession, to investigate. Lik-kei and Chung-ying get entangled in a relationship in the process. Also, Lik-kei's elder sister Ko Wing-yum (Pinky Cheung) and Ho-fan get along sometimes and provoke each other at other times. Fate has brought the foursome together, causing a case that has remained unsolved for more than twenty years to be reopened.

- Rewind many years and because of schizophrenia, Yeung Bik-sum (Kara Wai) almost fatally poisons her son Ip King-fung (Vincent Wong) and her daughter Ip Long-ching (Joey Thye). King-fung experiences seismic change and develops a split personality that manifests as intelligent weakling Chu Kei, who has always been a diligent student and eventually qualified as a graphologist. The task force members are King-fung, psychiatrist Wai Yui-kit (Benjamin Yuen), pretty bomb disposal officer Yau Ngan-sing (Mandy Wong) and forensic anthropologist Fong Yuen-chin (Venus Wong). And the quartet even get involved in a romantic quintet. Father of criminal investigation Nip Shan (Philip Keung) recovers from bipolar disorder. He is assigned the task of overseeing the task force investigating all kinds of bewildering cases. But he finds out Bik-sum seems to be implicated in the mystery of his wife Leung Yat-sze's (Alice Chan) disappearance. While the maze is being unraveled piece by piece, how do the chums face up to the crunch?
- Yukio Mitamura is the founder and president of a rapidly growing apparel company. He places priority on the company's profits and overworks his employees. She encounters Ngo-shan and develops a subtle relationship with him. To seek justice for his late elder brother, Ching-nam becomes boxing champion Yip Ying-fung's (Hugo Wong) disciple. And with assistance from some wealthy man's daughter called Kong Ka-ching (Jacky Cai) and his childhood buddy Shek Tsz-chung (Brian Chu), Ching-nam is determined to step into the boxing ring and go after Ngo-shan.
- Many people die as old-fashioned tenement Wai Lei Building abruptly collapses. Engineer Sze Kwong (Shaun Tam) has conducted a survey of the building. Sze Kwong suspects the building collapse has something to do with property developer Hong Wing-yan (Gilbert Lam) and his mentor Ying Yiu-wa (Timothy Cheng). He also wants to prevent the disaster from happening. To avoid implicating Cheung Man and Ka-chun, Sze Kwong decides not to recognize his younger sister to start with, and he also does not go out with Cheung Man. He just covertly watches over the duo.
