- The lecturer Ingwer Feddersen sets up a sabbatical to take care of his parents and moves back to his North Frisian home village of Brinkebüll for a year. There's nothing here anymore as it once was. The facades are only slowly crumbling, and true motives and events from Ingwer's childhood in the 1970s come to light.

Der will und muss als aufstrebender Abteilungsleiter mit moderner Führung beeindrucken und möchte die renitente MmL - Mitarbeiterin mit Lebenserfahrung - einfach nur wieder loswerden. Die übergriffige und zu divenhaften Auftritten neigende Barbara ist mit Video-Meetings, E-Learnings und Changemanagement komplett überfordert und versucht die Strippen nach den alten Regeln zu ziehen. Deshalb spannt Barbara als erstes Marion, mit der sie damals die Lehre gemacht hat, und Bernd, für den sie einiges im Betriebsrat durchgesetzt hat, für sich ein und lässt die beiden die Arbeit für sie erledigen. Aber auch die junge Dauerpraktikantin Amelie und Mike, der Gabelstaplerfahrer aus der Logistik, der mal in die Abteilung reinschnuppert, finden immer mehr Gefallen an Barbara und ihren schillernden Geschichten aus dem Sander-Versand. Das ist vor allem Yasemin, der rechten Hand von Barbaras Sohn Bastian, ein Dorn im Auge. Sie will, dass Barbara endlich die Herausforderungen des modernen Arbeitslebens annimmt und in die Nachschulungen geht. Bastian gerät zwischen die Fronten der beiden Frauen und will es irgendwie allen recht machen. Außerdem naht der "Call for papers", bei dem Bastian den Vorstand des Sander-Versands mit einem Konzept aus seiner Abteilung überzeugen will. Aber die Firmenleitung rund um den allglatten Sander- Junior hat hinter verschlossener Tür längst beschlossen, dass die "Wäsche-Bade" dicht gemacht wird. Als Barbara und Bastian herausfinden, dass der Sander-Versand im großen Stil Arbeitsplätze streichen will, müssen sich Mutter und Sohn zusammenraufen.
- With Mecklenburg sausages on board, the Meurers set off for Swabia at Christmas.
