- A group of bandits come down to village, tormenting innocent civilians. One day young warriors - one of them woman - who happen to pass by the village to find their enemy confront the bandits in town, and saves the villagers from the risk. After they are gone, a Taoist priest who is skilled in martial arts show up to help the villagers, and eventually wipe out the entire bandits. The villagers later find out that the Taoist priest was the brother of a young warrior while the chief bandit who died during the fight was the enemy the female warrior was looking for.

- Visiting the coffee shop run by his sister near the frontlines, Sang-cheol falls in love with the new employee, Nan-shil. All the soldiers flirt with her as well but she ends up choosing and marrying an army doctor. Distraught, Sang-cheol returns to the front and is killed in battle. His body is shipped to his sister, but she had been forced to flee because to the approaching armies. Nan-shil finds herself in possession of the corpse, unsure what to do.
- Ju-shik marries a poor girl over his mother's objections. His mother treats the bride so badly that the latter flees the house and supports herself as a schoolteacher. Ju-shik's mother insists that he forget his wife and marry again.
