Alan Wake 2 is a unique horror game in the most positive ways. It breaks away from the monotony of the titles of this category of games by challenging what the player expects. Despite the weakness of the design of some stages in the middle part of the story, its creativity in employing various settings to tell a confusing story will haunt your imagination even several hours after you finish it.

Great story and combat. Eikon boss fights were unreal! Incredible graphics. Weird performance drops in large open world sections. Weak sidequests.

The Crew MotorfestBeat

As a newfound enthusiast of racing games, particularly arcade-style racing, I found myself eagerly diving into the vibrant world of The Crew Motorfest. Being naturally drawn to Ubisoft's signature open-world design seen in titles like Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, and The Division, I was curious to explore how this style translated into the realm of arcade racing.
The open world of The Crew Motorfest, set on the picturesque island of O’ahu, Hawaii, immediately captivated me with its detailed landscapes and diverse environments. While smaller in scale compared to its predecessors, the island's condensed size felt more manageable and allowed for a more immersive experience. However, I couldn't shake off the feeling that it lacked the epic scale of previous maps, which were integral to the series' identity.
In terms of innovation in the arcade racing genre, The Crew Motorfest certainly makes strides forward. The introduction of Grand Races, reminiscent of Mass Race events from Riders Republic, added a thrilling element of chaos with 28 players tearing across the island, changing vehicles along the way. The variety of playlists, each offering a unique thematic experience, showcased the game's versatility and creativity.
Yet, The Crew Motorfest also falters in certain aspects. While the handling of cars has been significantly improved, bikes, boats, and planes still lack the same level of refinement, detracting from the overall enjoyment of these vehicles. The grindy progression system, coupled with the option for microtransactions, may deter some players seeking a more balanced gameplay experience.
Despite its shortcomings, The Crew Motorfest offers a plethora of gameplay opportunities. From intense PvP modes like Demolition Royale to engaging solo playlists exploring different facets of car culture, there's no shortage of adrenaline-pumping action to be found on the island of O’ahu.
