BJBS invites applications for a Deputy Editor
The British Journal of Biomedical Science (BJBS) seeks a Deputy Editor to assist the Editor-in-Chief in the general day-to-day running of the journal.
The Deputy Editor will work with the Editor-in-Chief and three other Deputies to appoint reviewers and ensure their report within two weeks.
The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, Biomedical Science in Brief articles (short summaries of advances in biomedical science) and case reports. In January 2022 the BJBS moved to open access with Frontiers. BJBS’s impact factor has gradually increased over the years and now stands at 2.7.
The Deputy Editor will have access to the IBMS Specialist Advisory Panels and editorial boards, offering a rich source of reviewers. They are also able to appoint reviewers outside the panels, i.e. within their personal network, or members of the IBMS who are not Fellows. They will also be expected to support the Editor-in-Chief and advise on the strategic direction of the journal.
The position is for a duration of three years, ending on 31 December 2027, and a modest honorarium will be provided.
