Nixon Fire in Riverside County fully contained

After battling a brush fire in Riverside County for three days, firefighters fully contained the Nixon Fire which sparked Monday in the Aguanga area. 

The Nixon Fire was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Monday in the area of Tule Valley Road and Richard Nixon Boulevard in Aguanga. 

As of Wednesday night, the fire burned 5,222 acres and is 100% contained.

Four structures have been damaged, and one destroyed, according to Cal Fire.

Firefighters said the fire burned to the south and east, adjacent to the San Diego County line and the Beauty Mountain Wilderness in steep and rugged terrain. 

Several evacuation orders and warnings were issued. An evacuation center was established at Hamilton High School, at 57430 Mitchell Road in Anza

Animal services area has been established at Temecula Valley High School.
