CAIRO – 23 November 2017: Famous Lebanese actress Carmen Lebbos announced her participation in the ongoing 39th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), through her official Facebook page.
She posted a number of photos with many leading actors and actresses during CIFF’s opening ceremony such as Sulaf Fawakherji and Suzan Najm Al Deen.
“CIFF is a prestigious and a huge festival, I am proud to be one of the participants in the 39th edition,” Lebbos commented through a video posted on her official Facebook page.
Praising the exerted efforts in organizing the festival, Lebbos expressed her admiration of the opening ceremony. Besides, she stated that she will start shooting the second part of “Al Zepaq” series next month, according to MENA.
While, the prominent cinema critic Khayriya El Beshlawy explained in a TV interview aired through the state owned first channel, “CIFF is like a channel to world cinema, it also a valuable chance to examine different cultures.”
She continued explaining that since 1967 the festival witnessed wide participation of Egyptian films, because Egypt had a serious and productive film industry in the past. But, this edition witnesses the absence of the Egyptian cinema.
CIFF is one of the top 11 international festivals in the world. It was launched in 1967.
Running from November 21, to November 30,
is dedicated to the iconic Egyptian singer Shadia.
The festival’s management selected acclaimed Egyptian actress Youssra as this year’s honorary president at the festival.
Held under the theme of “The Magic of Cinema, The Land of Civilization,” more than 175 films from 53 countries are participating in CIFF activities.
